367 A Rare Chinese Imperial Gilt-Bronze Enamel with ‘Daji’ and Zodiac Pattern Paste-Set Double-Gourd-Shape Top Automaton Tower Clock Length: 45cm, Width:34cm, Height:93cm, Diam of the dial: 11.5cm, $50,000 ～ 80,000 清 乾隆禦制鎏金琺琅嵌寶 生效大吉自鳴轉花座鍾

Chinese automaton imperial gilt-bonze enamel clock, highly decorated in gilt-bronze plate has 11.5cm white enamel dial with black painted Roman numerals, ornate pierced brass hands with sweep seconds hand, red and clear paste-set jewels around the bezel. Fronting the high quality movement with engraved brass plates having a filigree border and signed to backplate of movement. The clock has three stages with eight beaded cones that spin, has three waterfalls to the sides and in front with ducks moving up and down, forest on top, the chain movement is marked and comes with a key. On the hour, the clock activates the music played on bells, and the animated mechanism of swimming ducks in front of an open frieze panel.   A cylindrical cluster of spinning glass rods forms a waterfall in the top of the case under a drum form having a paste-set jeweled bezel with a 12.5cm blue enamel panel behind a large spinning paste set center pinwheel surrounded by 10 smaller pinwheels rotating in alternate directions. The jeweled teardrop finial at the top also rotates clockwise.   The drum top has blue enameled bronze ribbons on each side and an ornate bulbous top with red jeweled Chinese characters which read “Da Ji” (Great Prosperity). ‘JI’ is similar shape to gourd. Cause of lots vines and seeds, the ancients mostly used ‘the gourd’ to imply that the descendants stretched for generations. Gourd-shaped upper part sits on an exquisitely carved pig statue with the symbol of wealth in ancient society. Large gilt bronze case has extravagant filigree mounts throughout with mythical heads above the corners, pierced decorated galleries, four beaded cones spin around the case. The clock is supported by four sheep at four corners, heads up with ganoderma in the mouth. Four sheep are connected by delicate flower branches, which is especially inlaid with red, white and green jeweled flowers.   Measures 45 x 34 x 93cm , clock is running and striking, all automaton mechanisms are working. For a near identical example, refer to Fontaines Auction Lot 150 on May 21, 2016，and Clars Auction June 19th 2016 Lot 2401. PROVENANCE : 15th Dec 2019 sold by Singapore International Auction, Lot 1734.   From Herzum Viktor Family in 1970s,  acquired from an english antique dealer Spink and Son even earlier.

Herzum jànos 赫 爾 Herzum 家族参加拍卖会的广告和拍卖现场照片 松 · 亞諾斯 1866 年出生 Herzum 家族成员与中国领导人合影 于 德 意 志 1954 年 卒 于 奧 地 利， 畢 業 于 德 意 志 1904 年一戰爆發，他已 是當時奧匈帝國的軍事 首 領。 一 直 在 軍 隊 裏 從 事軍事地圖的繪制工作。 在其余生中主要從事繪 畫創造和藝術品的收藏。 Herzum Viktor 1908 年 出 生， 畢 業 于 匈 牙 利 經 濟 學 院。 銀 行 家， 從 父 親那裏繼承了大量的收 藏， 並 得 到 了 豐 厚 的 遺 産 大 量 收 夠 中 國 文 物。 不 僅 繼 承 了 繪 畫 天 分， 還同時將家族對文化藝 術 的 收 藏 延 續 了 下 去。 而 作 爲 銀 行 家， 充 裕 的 經濟條件對于其熱衷的 繪畫和文化藝術品收藏 提 供 了 很 好 的 支 持。 二 戰 之 後， 隨 著 歐 洲 回 歸 和 平 和 經 濟 的 複 興， 他 所喜愛的中國文化藝術 品上投入了更多的精力 與 財 力。 這 期 間 Viktor 與當時很多著名的中國 文物古董商往來頻繁，青銅器、玉器、瓷器、書畫等中國藝術品讓 Viktor 爲之瘋狂。當時在歐州收購 並不困難。影響他收藏最深的是歐德贊男爵德國人，著名的汽車工業家玉器收藏家。在他的影響下收 購了大量的古玉、青銅器、陶器等收藏高達 400 多件左右。之後爲家族收藏增添了各類佛像收藏。50 年代未大量的海外政商、各界收藏家、古玩商帶去大批中國宮庭文物使得海外的中國藝術品的市場再 次活躍。Herzum Viktor1975 年去世後家族收藏各類文物流向了全世界收藏家的手上。 香港佳士得 2007 年 5 月《中國 故宮藏 銅鍍金四羊馱表 宮廷禦製藝術精品》專場 通高 59cm、面寬 36cm、厚 30cm 銅鎏金大吉葫蘆形座鍾 高 52cm
