AASTRAW - Innovative Water Filter from Active Hams AARS-KL research products should have a social responsive touch. Here we have developed a prototype of a low cost personal water filter, which can be used for a flood disaster. During a flood disaster fresh water resources are contaminated and cannot consumable and safe drinking water is the most needy item those time. We have identified this during the Kerala Flood 2018. AASTRAW can easily distributed to the affected area , which can produce drinking water from muddy/ contaminated water. Our analysis connects the existence of socially responsible innovations to the presence of intrinsic and extrinsic social responsibility preferences. In addition to deriving economic value from the product, consumers have heterogeneous intrinsic needs to consume products that are socially responsible, ASSTRAW is 0ne among them. We are looking for your support to deliver this product. If your company has a plan to develop a socail resposive product ,please contact us... Amateur Radio for Emergency Communication If all communication is being managed via commercial services, ham radio is not necessary. However, regular communications systems may be compromised in a disaster or emergency. When this occurs, supplemental ham radio can take the place of commercial communication systems until they are restored. In major disasters, extensive failures can occur involving overloading of communications infrastructure such as cellular networks, Internet access points, and public safety radio systems. Ham operators will be needed in force for an extended period when this occurs VU2MTU , Mathew and VU3CQC, Tajudeen during a an Emergency Operation with District Fire Officer Sri. Between 8 and 10 August, the state of Kerala received 256 percent more rainfall than normal—310 millimeters of rain in 24 hours. It was double the average amount of rainfall the area typically receives for the entire month of August. Due to the intense rainfall, 35 of the 43 dams across Kerala were opened after reaching their maximum water level, resulting in severe flooding in low-lying areas that stranded thousands of people. Worsening the situation, landslides ravaged six districts in the state. The flooding destroyed thousands of homes, plus many bridges, highways, and public buildings. Active CRV - volunteers worked closely with the local administration to provide communication support, search and rescue services and also distributed relief material and provided shelter to the people affected by the disasters. Mock Emergencies, such as fires and explosions cannot be Drills ruled out in most companies. In order to minimize the impact, it is necessary that every person in such a situation knows exactly what to do. Planning and execution of these exercises has to be based on the experience of real scenarios, it has to involve the workers, and the performance has to be evaluated, for Active Hams each drill is a case study and we add some value to it.

KMML Mock Drill – An emergency communication & the role of Connected Technology during a chemical disaster. JOTA JOTI 2019 - We joined 10 Schools IN KERALA STATE Local amateur radio clubs will often set up a special event ham station for the JoTA weekend and invite all the local scout and guide groups to visit the station. The club will have arranged an event-based ham radio license, often with a special call-sign, which allows non-licenses people to talk on-air. The licensed radio amateur will generally establish the contact and then pass the microphone to the scout or guide sitting next to them, to pass on a greeting message. The person at the other end may also have some scouts and guides there, but just as often, that may not be the case. However, there are millions of people who were part of the movements in their youth and love to come on-air each year to talk to and encourage the next generation. The students of this generation are fascinated by space exploration and robotics

06 Community Radio A Free service by AARS-KL to Promote Local Radio Brodcasting by Assisting to setup commercail & Community radio in association with World Development Foundation India

Community Ms. Sucharita S. Eashwar from Bangalore, leads a non-profit development Radio communication group called VOICES that has lobbied to start community radio in India. In a recent ruling, India's Supreme Court declared the airwaves public property to be used for promoting public good and ventilating plurality of views, opinions, and ideas. Recently, India has been making efforts to revamp its age- old broadcasting laws.Community radio is a type of radio service that caters to the interests of a specific area, broadcasting material that has relevance to a local audience. The Community Radio was not legal in India till 2002.The turning point was a 1995 ruling of the Supreme Court in which the honourable court said that the “airwaves are public property and must be used for the public good”.In December 2002, the NDA Government approved a policy for the grant of licenses for setting up of Community Radio Stations ONLY to well established educational institutions. In 2006, the government released a new community radio policy which allowed the agricultural universities, educational institutions and civil society institutions such as NGOs to apply for a community radio broadcasting license under the FM band 88–108 MHz.By 2008, some 40 Community Radio Stations started in India owned either by the educational institutions or by the NGOs. Currently there are around 150 Community Radio stations in India.

Advantages Social benefit of CRS  Smaller scale media  Encourages communication and connects the people of the Community and varying cultures  Easier to obtain free or inexpensive air time  Offers an opportunity for input by people whose voice is not prominently heard on national radio (such as “ordinary” women and youth). Hearing locals on the radio is often viewed as empowering to its listeners.  Community radio reaches a large section of the locality it covers; listeners were observed to be interested in local issues.  A positive and distinctive way to communicate with communities whose main language is not the official language of Indian Continent  Exemplifies the idea of participatory communication

Advantages Educational benefit of CRS  Development of effective innovative education approaches to translate knowledge gained from science into public health and community applications  Educating the farmers and seasonal farm workers in rural areas, organic farming, and livelihood generation  Short courses to update in new scientific methods, technologies and findings  Training of health care clinicians and community health care providers  Training and counseling to women who are socially and economically disadvantaged,  Counseling and technical assistance in the areas of finance, management, procurement, and marketing to the rural masses,  Helping communities to get reward for their talent in the ethnic field such as Madhubani Paintings, Warli paintings, Phad Paintings, Thanga Paintings, various forms of murals, sculptures etc.  Health, hygiene, drug abuse, vaccination, child care etc.

AARS & CRS How Activehams are connected with Community Radio Services? Considering its potential, We foresee thousands of Community Radios in India in next 5-7 years. A sound understanding of the process and right support and advice shall result in the community radio revolution to take place in the country. To achive this goal we are in touch with the experts in this industry , who installed more than hundreds of CRS arround the world. Dr. H. O. Srivastavsa President, World Development Foundation and the Honoroble Patron of AARS-KL has behind this services. It is entirly seperate activity not directly conncted with Activehams Amateur Radio Service and we assure that it is a non-profit service from AARS to promote the community radio in India.
