-- Last Change: Version 1.7, Edited on 8.25.14 --Jumping Puzzle Tips:  I recommend your settings allow 20+ FPS for a smoother, more precise jumping experience. Check this under [F11] and the FPS is displayed at the lower right-hand corner of the [F11] menu. If your FPS is below 20, choose [Graphics Options] and simply change the Settings Preset to Best Performance. Improvements are subject to the ability of your CPU, or the load from activity within a given area.  Condition Removal, Evade, Invisibility, and Invulnerabilities significantly reduce the threat of mobs. Ash Legion Spy Kits are extremely useful. Remember that mobs cannot jump, so breaking most aggro can be done by jumping to a higher or lower level. Occasionally a creature may keep you targeted and in combat status. Logging to the character select screen will cure this.  Trait for Fall Damage reduction by 50%  Fire Elemental Powder, Ogre Pet Whistle, Deployable Mortar kit, and Healing Seed Pod are useful when fighting solo.  Experimental Teleportation Gun and Experimental Rifle are consumable items; they may take practice but are useful for jumps and shortcuts.  25% and 33% Speed Boost is great for Jumping Puzzles. However, most jumps are designed for normal character speed. If you are having trouble with a short jump while under the effect of a speed boost, I recommend removing the boost and trying it at base speed.  Watching a video of someone else completing a puzzle can help familiarize. Then South to begin scaling the cliffside, up to the Vista. Then continue along the cliff north and then up the coral steps. Once at the top, there is a cryptwith a Veteran guarding a chest. Orian Chest (Grand Chest)There is no need to fight when you reach the top.Alternatively you can simply run to the cornerbehind the crypt to lose aggro.Once aggro is lost, slowly move forward next to thecrypt towards the chest. Stop when you see theoption to Open. Should the Vet still spawn, using aninvisibility skill or Ash Legion Spy Kits at the chestwill allow you to loot the chest without needing toengage the Vet.

Back to MAP INDEX Back to PUZZLE INDEXChaos Crystal Caverns (Iron Marches) [Video] The entrance is a hole in the terrain west of Old Piken Ruins Waypoint. During the puzzle there are irremovable camera form, and speed change effects. Tied to Weyandt's Revenge, Looting one renders the other as Looted. Camera and size changes have little effects on the jump. Again, muscle memory comes into play. However, be aware of speed change effects and the ranged creatures below.  Grand ChestBelow/left is a good spot to jump into thetunnel at the start of the puzzle. Below/rightis the shortcut during the puzzle, whichomits a small portion of jumping.

Jumping with your camera zoomed out and looking down on your character is helpful. Best Performance settings recommended. Normal speed seems easier than with speed boosts. NPC Quaggans will resurrect you if you fall and die.  Grand Chest

Avoidable time triggered spike traps on the surface of certain cubes that knockback and cause bleeding. Avoidable swinging log traps that knockback. There are 10 sparks used to navigate the puzzle.  Grand ChestSpark Portal is Unique to Conundrum CubedIt may be necessary to walk around to theside, or behind the spark, to initiate theteleportation. Locations are marked 1-10.

Once inside continue northeast and look for a hallway that starts the puzzle. Lots of avoidable mobs along the route and an avoidable Veteran guarding the chest. Using an invisibility skill or Ash Legion Spy Kits at the chest will allow you to loot the chest without needing to engage the Vet. Extra Chest en route to the end, this is marked with a white X.  Grand Chest  Chest (Grand Chest)You can take an alternate route that by passes the ruins. The above screenshows the path. Screen to the right shows the target area for the ExperimentalRifle. Also note that standing on the very edge of the pillar is necessary to comewithin range. 

Back to MAP INDEXBack to PUZZLE INDEXCrimson Plateau (Center of Diessa Plateau) [Video] 11 of 12 Next 12 of 12 Jumping Puzzles for MonthliesRedreave Mill Waypoint and go down and around, to the southeast side of the hill to start the puzzle. Shown below,one jump is hidden by vines. It is a break in a wall that you jump through. The break is highlighted yellow in thescreen below and marked with a rectangle on the map overview.  Grand ChestInstead of jumping through the wall, an alternate route can be taken by using the Experimental Teleportation Gun ,Experimental Rifle, Rocket Boots, and Jump Shot or Lightning Hammer, etc.The place to do this is shown in thescreen and marked with a whitedotted line in the smaller mapoverview.

Back to MAP INDEX Back to PUZZLE INDEXDark Reverie (Caledon Forest) [Video] Start of this puzzle is at the end of Morgan's Leap puzzle. Lots of Mobs, but most are avoidable. Over half the puzzle is high enough that a fall results in death. The key here is to take your time. Kill any creatures that could place you in combat during a jump if necessary. A second Basic Chest is available, marked with the white X.  Splendid ChestAn alternate route will save the trip to ground level where most of the mobsare.This screen is near the beginning and before decent to the ground.In this particular spot, I am using an Experimental Rifle.However, No special skills or consumables are required. Other Jump andLunge Skills can be used in various places.The video walkthrough shows this route, without using an Experimental Rifleor other like skills.

Back to MAP INDEXBack to PUZZLE INDEXDemon Grub Pits (Queensdale) [Video] 5 of 12 Next 6 of 12 Jumping Puzzles for MonthliesIn the southeast corner of Queensdale is the Righteous Hoofmoot POI and skill point. The entrance to the puzzle isin the cliffside just northeast of the POI. Puzzle littered with mobs that are avoidable. There are two optional BasicChests, marked in white.  Grand ChestAlternatively, there is no need to fight the mobs. Simply runto the chest at the end and use an invisibility skill / AshLegion Spy Kit or jump up to the first level of the waterfall.Both ways will break aggro. If some form of invisibility is notused, the nearest Veteran Ooze and two of the Mini Ooze'swill re-aggro. Either way is faster and easier than fightingeverything. 

Quite difficult due to Player vs Player environment; much easier in a group. Objective is to collect two halves of a key. They will be removed from inventory when opening the vault door or chest.  Enormous Mistwrought Chest  (2) Mistwrought Chest

Alternate path is marked with dotted white line. The first room requires 3 Boulders to be placed on floor switches, marked by white stars.  Magnificent ChestIf you fall while crossing these planks.  You can use an Experimental Rifle to still get on the ship without going back around. 

After placing the Boulders on the switch pads, go thru the open gate. The next area is a collapsing rock floor. Just fall to your death.

Back to MAP INDEX Back to PUZZLE INDEXGoemm's Lab (Metrica Provence) [V ideo]From Cuatl Waypoint, head south and look for a hidden entrance into the eastern cliff, marked by green shrubbery.Just inside the cliff are Asuran steps and terrain, which lead you to the north end of the cliff cavern and back out tothe first gate. Inside the puzzle are obstacles that slow movement, damage, or knock back. In Windy Station, windblows causing knockback. Next is Stormy Station, you with a few jumps while in combat. Then Chilly Station, initialwind gusts cause chill, which can be removed. Last is Goemms Lab, with bonus Goemm fight for experience, karma,and loot. [Side Note: When entering a new station for the first time. You may be knocked down automatically uponloading. Griffins open attack will make you drop the bomb. Making it to the chest without the Bomb will still merit the achievement.Beaker's Empty Belly is an achievement inside thisjumping puzzle. It is accessed over the wall to thenorth, from the hut with the NPC, which hands youthe bomb. Shown in white on the map.

Back to MAP INDEX Back to PUZZLE INDEXHex Foundry Unhinged (Sparkfly Fen) [Video] Just South of the Darkweather Waypoint, and over the back barrier inside the lab. Avoidable Mobs.  Grand Chest  Basic Chest Jump over the gate in the back of the Lab for the start of the JP. In the back left side, up high is the chest. It is blocked by 3fields, all of which can be opened by disabling 3 switchesscattered throughout the puzzle. Look for the fields beforeyou enter. If they are not active, take an alternate routestraight to the chest. 

After a Keeper is defeated, a portal will open that allows you to enter the Hidden Gardens. Avoidable mobs inside the puzzle. Goggles on cliff at Cantle of Sky and Goggles on mushroom top at Cantle of Sun.  Sylvan Chest (Grand Chest)  Defeat the Keepers of Earth: Sootberme, south east of Criterion Waypoint.  Defeat the Keeper of Light: Ashen Waste, south and slightly to the east of Ashen Waypoint.  Defeat the Keeper of Waves: Gauntlet Gulch, north of Oxbow Isle Waypoint.  Defeat the Keeper of Winds: The Stychs, southeast of Irwin Isle Waypoint. Keeper Locations  Cantle Locations inside the Puzzle

Back to MAP INDEX Back to PUZZLE INDEXMorgans Leap (Caledon Forest) [Video] Located at Morgan's Spiral, south of Spiral Waypoint, in Caledon Forest. If the NPC Brugh is not present near the tree and it is not alive (looks dark and withered), you need to find Brugh near Sleive's Inlet, and complete his escort event to revive the tree. There are a variety of jump heights and distances during the puzzle. Hopping technique is best due to unnoticeably ridged or slopped edges in terrain.  Splendid Chest

Mobs throughout the puzzle.Unique movement mechanics on gears and pistons. Normal speed seems easier than speed boosts. Magnificent Chest (Chance of Blade Shards) (3) Aetherblade Cache (Grand Chest ) These movement mechanics are unique to the Not So Secret Jumping Puzzle Pistons spring you up to higher levels. Regardless of the animation, the area ofwhich you can stand is larger than it appears. Marked with a yellow circle. Pistons mayspring you, arced slightly, in the directionyou were traveling prior to settling inplace upon it.Gears will lunge you in the direction your character is facing, notnecessarily the direction of your camera view. Square your characters'body facing towards the direction you wish to go. 

Back to MAP INDEX Back to PUZZLE INDEXObsidian Sanctum (WvW) [Video] Accesable thru the WvW menu or the Eternal Battlegrounds map. It is a Player vs Player environment, obstacles, and jumps. There are three mystic fountains that grant you five minutes of invisibility, marked by yellow X's. There is a dark room, so having your own weapons which illuminate is good. This puzzle is better done with guildmates.  Enormous Mistwrought Chest

Has a specific mechanic to access chest.  Magnificent Chest Once inside destroy the four Lightning Turrets.  Then one for the Lamps. Then the force field will drop and you can then use the console off to the left. For the Console answer Okay, Yes, Yes.Then Wait. Next answer is No.Wait again. Wait again.Then choose Abort auto-abort. That part is done.Now the portal will open.Now use the panels to the right of the portal.Each Panel will change the digits as Indicatedby the adjacent arrows in the figure below.Coordinates Training Video [Video]Once through the portal, you can transmit the coordinates for anyone still below.

Timed jumps begin by activating the consoles at each station.  Magnificent ChestTalk to a Lab Assistant at any time to return to a previously obtained checkpoint.If you fall into the lava and die, you can 'Reboot' to the Main Entrance andwhere there is a Lab Assistant.

Dark setting andmobs inside. There are two forks in the path, take two lefts.  Splendid Chest

Back to MAP INDEX Back to PUZZLE INDEXSwashbuckler's Cove (Gendarren Fields) [Video] West of Cornucopian Fields Waypoint, up and into the hillside, is a drop in entrance. There is a Waterlogged Chest inside; it is only a Booby Trap marked with the red warning sign. Just below it, but two floors down in the water, is a passage. This leads to a room with two floors above and water below. There is a blocked passage in the water below. To clear the passage, light four torches. Doing so will spawn a Veteran Ghost on the top floor. Kill the Vet and then the passage in the water below will open. After a tunnel with fallout, you it opens to the outside. There is a Moa feed bag, take one, and place it before looting the chest, to divert the Moa.  Magnificent Chest
