Mashed Idioms 4 สำ�นวนกวนกนึ๋ Admiring words “Mashed Idioms” is a book crafted from an inspira- tion of an English teacher, who has been living with the English language, watching movies, and listening to English songs. Through her teacher disposition and the love for English, Ajarn Suttasinee Srijak has composed this book, “Mashed Idioms.” On the surface level, it seems that the title was devised to please her new-gen students. In fact, the meaning of its title is more profound than its surface. The word “Kuan (mashed)” may mean a process of mixing until reaching crystallization. The word “Kuen (knowledge)” may mean having knowledge of a particular topic. The design of the book automatically draws readers to pick it up. The use of photos communicates meaning well. The template, photos, and color is appropriate and is consistent with learning psychology and individuals’ ways of lives in the new era. I appreciate the determination of Ajarn Suttasinee Srijak, who has been devoting her life to be a teacher. Even though it is her retirement this year, she has never stopped thinking about her students. She continues helping her students to love English and to sharpen knowledge of English until she completes writing this book “Mashed Idioms.” I really appreciate her devotion. She translates difficult-to-understand English idioms into the Thai language by organizing them into a well-arranged sequence in which readers can use them in every life. After I completed reading this book, I believe that readers will be able to appreciate the power these idioms as an effective communication tool and to use them harmoniously in real-life communicative contexts with native English speakers.
