VGN CHINMAYA VIDYALAYA, AVADI – TERM II CVP REPORT – 2019-20 CHINMAYA VISION PROGRAMME – PARENT REPORT Hari Om! I am proud to say that my daughter Laranya Sri. M (VII-A) is studying under the spiritual head of Chinmaya mission. The Holistic Development has built her strength and confidence both physically and mentally. I am impressed by the way the students are treated by the faculties as well as the management, because of this we are free to express our needs without hesitation. Some of the activities that deserve a mention are:- Balvihar: As per the saying “books are our first mentor”, the balavihar books help our children to develop the reading ability and also it encourages to do activities, to write or create something and how to present on their own. Divine Programme: Spiritual programmes like „Thirupavai‟, „Bhagavad Gita‟ and shlokas chanting help them to strengthen their mental ability and also help to learn the moral values of life and society. 3 Generation Tour: 3G tour which is being arranged by the Mission through the Vidyalaya every year creates a bridge between the youngsters and the grandparents. It gives us a beautiful platform for the kids to know the value of life and elders. Physical Care: The care taken for students‟ health is another great effort taken by the management. Doing regular health check-ups, treating with care during illness, a highlight of this is the “NILAVEMBU KASHAYAM” which was being provided by the schoolto all students. Being sensitive towards the needs of the children is very impressive. Celebration and cultural programs: “Culture is a part of our nation”. The traditional way of celebrating all the cultural programmes, helps them to learn the different traditions and also
VGN CHINMAYA VIDYALAYA, AVADI – TERM II CVP REPORT – 2019-20 helps them to create the unity among all. It helps them to grow stronger in the society and it gives confidence to face the future world. VGN CHINMAYA VIDYALAYA, AVADI – TERM II CVP REPORT – 2019-20 CHINMAYA VISION PROGRAMME – TEACHER REPORT “Man is essentially the thoughts that he entertains” – Swami Chinmayananda Chinmaya Vision Programme which was developed in 1996, has become an integral part and the very basis of all activities of the vidyalaya, wherein the education programme is accomplished by integrating the best of Indian culture and Vedic philosophy with academic learning. Our Vidyalaya plays a major role in moulding the students and in equipping them with the right attitude towards challenges of life. Our Vidyalaya provides avenues and instances not only for practice but also to implement values in students‟ day to day life. The Chinmaya Vision Programme is a holistic programme in its true sense. Our school has been successful in bringing out the best in students through a comprehensive education pattern. This pattern includes Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Intellectual development and Patriotic enhancement. All the lessons and topics which are taught to the students are to explore to give a chance to understand our culture and values. Teachers constantly lay emphasis on the values linked to the concept being taught. Be it Science, Arts or Mathematics each subject has something to offer. As a teacher, through CVP, I was able to instill in children some qualities like leadership, strong sense of collective responsibilities, love for their country and culture etc.,
VGN CHINMAYA VIDYALAYA, AVADI – TERM II CVP REPORT – 2019-20 Chanting of the Bhagvad Gita and Thirupavai and singing of Bhajans initiate them towards Spiritual Development. “Art and craft” increases their creativity and aesthetic sense. Physical exercises & yoga train the mind and the body. Team spirit, discipline and fitness are acquired by the children over a period of time. The various subjects taught here get interconnected through activities. Geeta chanting has facilitated the students and teachers in a journey towards progressive development. Students learn the valuable lesson of not to dwell in the past but to live in the present. This has assisted in developing a positive approach towards life and also to put in the best for the day. Throughout the year our Vidyalaya ensured that the students were engaged in activities that develop their skills. Festivals like Onam, Pongal, Krishna Jayanthi, KarthigaiDeepam, Navaratri, Mahashivarathri and Diwali are celebrated with great fervor in an effort to inculcate cultural awareness among students. Chinmaya Yuvakendra (CHYK) members conduct interactive sessions for students of our vidyalaya with an aim of transforming them Emotionally, Intellectually, Physically and Patriotically. On the Republic Day as well as the Independence Day , students take part in the cultural programmes and they actively participate in various awareness programmes that brings them a step closer towards patriotic transformation. On the whole such value based teaching along with value education classes have been helping students in improving their personality and preparing them to face life‟s challenges with a smile!

VGN CHINMAYA VIDYALAYA, AVADI – TERM II CVP REPORT – 2019-20 CHINMAYA VISION PROGRAMME – TEACHER‟S REPORT “Success or achievement is not the final goal. It is the spirit in which you act that puts the seal of beauty upon your life “. --- H.H.SWAMI CHINMAYANADA A school is a place where transfer of knowledge happens. Parents have great hope on schools. All the children are equipped with unique talents. Parents browse through the best schools to enrich and polish these talents and to mould them into the best human beings of our nation. Our Chinmaya Vision Programme plays a vital role to provide a firm base through which each child is ensured to be benefited with the overall developments in the field of education. Education doesn‟t limit only to classroom learning. It provides information around the atmosphere and environment the children are exposed to. Our motherland has a significant culture. We celebrate many festivals in our school with an intention to insist the bonding between the families and the reason behind celebrating these festivals. Theories can be explored and experienced only when practiced. Celebrating the festivals in school involves the children in activities and this leaves a good impression in their mind. This helps them to develop respect to our culture. As citizens of this nation, we should not forget the sacrifice of our freedom fighters and eminent leaders. We celebrate the birthdays of renowned leaders like Gandhiji ,MahakaviBharathiyar,Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, our Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda and Swami Vivekananda. On these occasions, children are encouraged to speak about great people. This helps in the personality development of the children. Even though they learn about the Indian history, these activities help them to gather more information, make them realise that the freedom we are enjoying today is just because of the great leaders and the soldiers those who are still protecting us day and night without even bothering about their own family. February 14th, 2019 was the day of Pulwama attack. A tribute was paid to all great soldiers who shed their blood for our protection.
VGN CHINMAYA VIDYALAYA, AVADI – TERM II CVP REPORT – 2019-20 Literacy Club, Karuna Club, Eco Club, Scouts and Guides, RSP are the special areas where children enroll themselves to serve the purpose of each club. These activities help the children realize their areas of strength and think independently on how to work in their chosen field. It also enhances the role of every individual in a society and paves the way to develop self- confidence. Life skill classes are also arranged for understanding the world around us in a better way and to handle situations with positivity. Valediction for CCA was conducted to acknowledge and appreciate the students who are versatile and showcased their talents. This helped the children to develop a positive vibe and kindle the interest of the non- participants to gear up and come out from their shell. Chinmaya Vision Programme stands as the pillar to support and enrich the young sapling to grow as a banyan tree with the underground root of Spiritual Knowledge that upholds the children as a vibrant tree with the prop root of Integrated Development, Indian Culture, Patriotism and Universal Outlook. So we the teachers have the sole responsibility to take care of these young saplings. By providing them the right proportion of water and manure, we can peacefully rest under them and enjoy the bliss of our hard work. “Guru is not a person. He is a personality, an institution. He is the radio through which the Lord contacts the student”. --H.H.Swami Chinmayananda. Report by Smt.Lavanya Chellamuthu (KG Teacher)
