DATA ENTRY INTO THE SYSTEM   There are two (2) types of data entry to the system - (1)  direct  data  entry  into  the       system and (2) data entry by using the excel form. The former will encode the data one by one, while the latter can encode multiple data in one action. After encoding, the user should furnish the higher admins the excel files of the uploaded data for verification.To perform direct data entry into the system, the user must log into the system, thennavigate to the navigation menu and click the Main Forms. After which, sub‐categorieswill appear. Then, click the sub-category named River Systems. The user will now redirectto the River Systems Page. 1 5 ANNEX IX2 63 4 7 144

LOGOUT AND ADMIN This shows the logout button and the name of the user 1 AREA PANEL logged into the system. The admin area button will 2 SEARCH PANEL appear if the user has admin access level. A text box for the input of text to be searched in a database.ANNEX IX 3 DATA LIST PANEL This shows the list of data that is encoded or list of data that is stored in the system. 4 USER ACTION BUTTONS 5  FORM NAME Series of action buttons that a user will use to interact 6  BACK MENU BUTTON with the system. 7 DETAILS PANEL This shows the name of the form that the user has accessed. This button directs the user to the main menu or main page. This shows the number of data in a certain form. It also shows the number of pages generated by the system. ADDING DATA TO THE SYSTEM    To input data, navigate the mouse cursor to the user action button.  Click the Add new button. A pop-up window form will appear on the center of the screen.   To confirm if the user is in the add data form, on the upper portion of the  form,  the  user  will  see  a  white  text  that  is  named  after  the  sub‐category  and with the name Add new record.  In the form, the user will see names with text boxes and names with dropdown buttons. These are called parameters, a set of data inputs that the system will gather to form in- formation. All parameters should be accomplished.   Upon completion, the user can readily commence with saving/storing of data. Once finished, just click save. Then, the system will automatically add the data that you have encoded and publish data on the main page. The user can also cancel encoding by clicking back to list. 145

EDITING DATA ON THE SYSTEM     To edit a specific data or other data, navigate to the data list and select a data record that you want to edit. At the left side of the data, there are two (2) icons - (1) with paper and pencil icon and (2) zoom icon.   Edit Icon View Information Icon   ANNEX IX Click the edit icon and a pop-up window will appear. This is the edit data form. The window indicates that the user can now edit the information of selected data. To cancel editing of selected data, the user must click the X button on the upper right corner of the pop-up window/edit data form. To store or save the information of the edited data, navigate to the bottom of the edit form and click the button named save. The system will automatically overwrite the data that the user has edited and publish the new edited data on the main page.     The save button is used to save or to store the data into    the system while the reset button is used to clear all the   data   inside the parameter Edit data form.      146

ANNEX IX REPORT GENERATION    The Manila Bay Database System has the function to generate reports based on user preferences. These generated reports are data that the system gathered and transformed data to information.  To generate reports, navigate the mouse cursor to the navigation menu. Then click the Generate Report, the user will see the following: Establishment  Report,  Informal  Settler      Report, Private Homes Report and Relocatee Report.  The system will automatically generate the report that the user chooses. The generated report can be converted in to three (3) file types: excel conversion; word conversion; and PDF  conversion.  To print a report, navigate towards the right side of the logout and admin panel. The user will see the buttons Printer‐friendly  version and Print  whole  report. Selecting any of the print buttons will direct the user to the print preview of the report.  Press ctrl + P to print.  The user can also print a specific report form the generated report by using the search function. To search, navigate the mouse cursor to the search panel. Then, type the word that the user wants to search, press enter, and the system will automatically search and display the report . 147

DATA ENTRY USING MBDS FORMS  ANNEX IX Manila Bayanihan forms are designed to cater more data to be added into the system in a onetime import process. This enables the user to cut time in uploading voluminous data.       Manila Bayanihan Establishment Form    ( Note all encoded data must be capitalized.)  148

WATER BODY NAME Type the name of the water body that is adjacent to the WATER BODY TYPE location. OWNER’S NAME Indicate the type of the water body. ESTABLISHMENT NAME Type the name of the owner of the establishment. ESTABLISHMENT TYPE Type the name of the establishment to be registered. Identify the correct type of establishment to be registered, (commercial or factories).ANNEX IX ESTABLISHMENT STATUS Identify if the establishment is operational, BUSINESS PERMIT non-operational or suspended. NATURE OF BUSINESS NUMBER OF EMPLOYESS Type yes if the establishment has a permit. Otherwise, STREET type no. BARANGAY Type the nature of business of the establishment to be CITY/ MUNICIPALITY registered. PROVINCE Type how many employees are working in the establishment. Type the street address where the establishment is located. Type the barangay name where the establishment is located. Type the city/municipality where the establishment is located. Type the province where the establishment is located. REGION Type the region where the household is located. LONGITUDE AND LATITUDE Identify the coordinates of the establishment to be registered. The format must be in decimal  number. WWTF ( Waste Water   (Optional) Treatment Facility) Identify if the establishment has a waste water treatment facility. Type YES if there is a waste water treatment facility. Otherwise, type NO. SEPTIC TANK Identify if the establishment has a septic tank. Type YES if the establishment has a septic tank. Otherwise, type or choose NO. 149

SEPTIC TANK TYPE Identify the septic tank type. Type HYGIENIC  if it is identified as hygienic. Otherwise, type NON‐HYGIENIC. RIVER LOCATION Identify the location of the establishment in the river. If the establishment is in the easement zone, type INSIDE  EASEMENT.  If the establishment is outside or beyond ANNEX IX the easement zone, type OUTSIDE EASEMENT.SEWER CONNECTION Identify if the establishment is connected to a sewer line. Type the name of the company where the establishment is connected.REMARK Reserved for other related information that the user wishes to indicate.DATE GATHERED Type the date when the data was gathered. The date format must be in year/month/day.ENCODER Type the encoder’s name by using this format: LGU. NAME OF CITY / MUNICIPALITY. NAME OF PROVINCE. 150

Manila Bayanihan Informal Settler form  To encode data on the informal settler form page, the user shall use the Manila               BAYanihan Informal Settler Form. Shown below. ( Note all encoded data must be capitalized.) ANNEX IX WATER BODY NAME Type the name of the water body that is adjacent to the WATER BODY TYPE location. LAST NAME Indicate the type of the water body. FIRST NAME Type the last name of the head of the ISF household to be MIDDLE NAME registered. Type the first name of the head of the ISF household to be TENURIAL STATUS registered. NUMBER OF                 OCCUPANTS Type the full middle name of the head of the ISF household to STREET be registered. Do not type the initial of the middle name. Type if the ISF household is identified as OWNER,  SHARER,       CARETAKER, RENTER or etc. Type the number of members per family. Type the street address where the ISF household to be registered lives. 151

BARANGAY Type the name of barangay where the ISF household toCITY/ MUNICIPALITY be registered lives. Type the name of city/municipality where the ISF household to be registered lives.PROVINCE Type the name of province where the ISF household to be registered lives.REGION Type the name of region where the ISF household to be registered lives.LONGITUDE AND LATITUDE Identify the coordinates of the ISF household’s location. Manila Bayanihan Private Homes Form  To encode data on the private homes form page, the user will have to use the Manila   Bayanihan  Private Homes Form.ANNEX IX WATER BODY NAME   LAST NAME FIRST NAME Type the name of the water body that is adjacent to the location. MIDDLE NAME Type the last name of the head of the household to be registered. Type the first name of the head of the household to be registered. Type the full middle name of the head of the household to be registered. Do not type the initial of  the middle name. TENURIAL STATUS Type value if the household is identified as OWNER,  SHARER, CARETAKER, RENTER or etc. NUMBER OF OCCUPANTS Type the number of members per family. 153

STREET Type the street address where the household to be registered lives.BARANGAY Type the name of barangay where the household to be registered lives.CITY/ MUNICIPALITY Type the name of city/municipality where the ANNEX IXPROVINCE household to be registered lives.REGIONLONGITUDE AND LATITUDE Type the name of province where the household to be registered lives. Manila Bayanihan Monitoring Establishment Form    To encode data on the monitoring establishment form page, the user shall use the Manila Bayanihan Monitoring Establishment Form.   (Note all encoded data must be capitalized and monitored establishment must be listed  in  to  the  system.  Do  not  encode  or  add  an  establishment  that  is  not  listed  in  the          database.) ANNEX IX ESTABLIHMENT NAME Type the name of the establishment to be registered. OWNER'S NAME Type the full name of the owner of the establishment. DATE OF MONITORING  Type the date of the inspection. COMPLIANCE Type COMPLIANT if the establishment is identified (MONITORING INFORMATION) compliant. Otherwise, type NON‐COMPLIANT if the establishment is identified not compliant. Type the action done based on the purpose of the inspection. VIOLATION Type the violation of the establishment based on the ACTION TAKEN inspection. Indicate the action that the owner did to comply to the violation recorded during the previous inspection. 157

COMPLIANCE AFTER Type COMPLIANT if the establishment was able to comply on subsequent inspection. HOUSEHOLD NAME Type the name of the head of the household to be registered. ADDRESS  Type the address of the household to be registered.  DATE OF MONITORING Type the date of the inspection.ANNEX IX COMPLIANCE Type COMPLIANT if the establishment was identified (MONITORING INFORMATION) compliant. Otherwise type NON‐COMPLIANT. VIOLATION Type the violation of the household based on the ACTION TAKEN inspection COMPLIANCE AFTER Indicate the action that the owner did to comply to the violation recorded during the previous inspection. Type COMPLIANT if the establishment was able to comply on subsequent inspection. Otherwise, type NON ‐COMPLIANT. 159

 The basin of the bay covers an area of around 17,000 sq.km. and its coastline stretches to about 190 kms. The entire Manila Bay watershed area includes the entire Metro Manila and the provinces of Bataan, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Rizal and some portions of Tarlac. Around 27.6 million people live in the basin area of the Bay alone, not including those that live along its tributary rivers. A total of 74,080 commercial establishments, 3,117 factories and 944,857 private homes within the Manila Bay watershed area have been identified as situated along the coastline and tributaries of Manila Bay. There are 162,640 informal settler families along river ways and in lands abutting the Bay, as identified by the LGUs through the DILG Regional and Field Offices. Regions III and IV-A are estimated to produce around 900 tons of solid waste per day. In Metro Manila, the estimate is around 9,000 tons per day. The LGUs are only allowed to dispose their residual wastes at sanitary landfills. In relation, all other wastes, except residual ones, are to be processed in the respective MRFs of LGUs down to the barangay level. 161
