PROJECT LOON“Balloon-powered Internet for everyone”WHAT IS PROJECT LOON?Project Loon is a research and development project beingdeveloped by Google X with the mission of providingInternet access to rural and remote areas. The project useshigh-altitude balloons placed in the stratosphere at analtitude of about 18 km (11 mi) to create an aerial wirelessnetwork with up to 4G-LTE speeds. It was named ProjectLoon, since Google itself found the very idea of providinginternet access to the remaining 5 billion populationunprecedented and \"crazy\".
THE TECHNOLOGYProject Loon balloons float in the stratosphere, twice as highas airplanes and the weather. In the stratosphere, there aremany layers of wind, and each layer of wind varies indirection and speed. Loon balloons go where they’re neededby rising or descending into a layer of wind blowing in thedesired direction of travel. By partnering withTelecommunications companies to share cellular spectrumwe’ve enabled people to connect to the balloon networkdirectly from their phones and other LTE-enabled devices. The signal is then passed across the balloon network andback down to the global Internet on Earth.WHERE LOON HAS BEENProject Loon began in June 2013 with an experimental pilotin New Zealand, where a small group of Project Loonpioneers tested Loon technology.
HOW LOON WORKSProject Loon balloons travel approximately 20 km above theEarth’s surface in the stratosphere. Winds in thestratosphere are stratified, and each layer of wind varies inspeed and direction. Project Loon uses software algorithmsto determine where its balloons need to go, then moves eachone into a layer of wind blowing in the right direction. Bymoving with the wind, the balloons can be arranged to formone large communications network. The inflatable part of the balloon is called a balloonenvelope. A well-made balloon envelope is critical forallowing a balloon to last around 100 days in thestratosphere. Loon’s balloon envelopes are made from sheetsof polyethylene plastic, and they measure fifteen meterswide by twelve meters tall when fully inflated. When aballoon is ready to be taken out of service, gas is releasedfrom the envelope to bring the balloon down to Earth in acontrolled descent. In the unlikely event that a balloondrops too quickly, a parachute attached to the top of theenvelope is deployed. The balloons are manipulated by adjusting their altitude inthe stratosphere to float to a wind layer after identifying thewind layer with the desired speed and direction using winddata from the National Oceanic and AtmosphericAdministration (NOAA). Users of the service connect to theballoon network using a special Internet antenna attached totheir building. The signal travels through the balloonnetwork from balloon to balloon, then to a ground-basedstation connected to an Internet service provider (ISP), then
onto the global Internet. The system aims to bring Internetaccess to remote and rural areas poorly served by existingprovisions, and to improve communication during naturaldisasters to affected regions.HOW LOON CONNECTSEach balloon can provide connectivity to a ground areaabout 80 km in diameter using a wireless communicationstechnology called LTE. To use LTE, Project Loon partnerswith telecommunications companies to share cellularspectrum so that people will be able to access the Interneteverywhere directly from their phones and other LTE-enabled devices. Balloons relay wireless traffic from cellphones and other devices back to the global Internet usinghigh-speed links.Key people involved in the project include Rich DeVaul, chief technical architect, who is also an expert on wearabletechnology; Mike Cassidy, a project leader; and CyrusBehroozi, a networking and telecommunication lead.ISHANK SINGHTT-CS
Silent Whispering Of A Student’s HeartAn entire year has slipped by and nostalgia sets in and the days for the exam draw closer, we knowwe are going to miss talking between tests, eating during lessons.God please help Us. Throughout the year we had unscrewed ammeters, diluted acids in chemistry Lab. Learning oxidationand reduction my heart underwent rapid contraction. The reactions of magnesium oxide almost put me ina state of suicide. Struggling with integration n and calculus puts the call into absolute silence.God please help Us. English always found us criticizing Shakespeare, Keats and Shelly and rest of the time we werefighting all forces to keep ourselves wide awake.God please help Us. And at times when studies weighed us down announcement for sport and dance practices came to ourrescue during the fest and we couldn’t resist the temptation of tapping our feet.God please help Us. A piece of chalk or a piece of paper went flying across the class and nobody missed it. And evenwith the over flowing no of 45 students in a class the lunch was shared with great precision.God please help Us. The banging of the tables, the soothing tune of the guitar; the aroma of the pickle, smell ofdeodorants brought by the sport stars. Somya Sharma ST CS

WE MEN = WOMENWhether girls are equal to boys has been never ending debate for manydecades. It has been observed that women in all the fields are graduallygetting empowered. The inequality between men and women has actually led to womenempowerment because women wanted equality and this triggered theirrebellion against the conservative social set up. They started handling allthe responsibilities in order to prove their potential. Women empowermenthas been on the rise from the beginning of 20th century till now.Women are said to be gentle and sensitive and hence advised to take upprofessions like nursing and teaching but now they are exploring each andevery occupation which were assumed to fall in the domain of men.Women like, Pratibha Patil, Indira Nooyi, Sheryl Sandberg, EleanorRoosevelt and many others have in past and even now successfullydelivering their responsibilities of statesmanship. We all know that the girls are doing better in the school than the boys andgetting more degrees than the boys and applying for new jobs in every field. And the last but not the least the girls are doing the job of mothers who arethe most important Part of the family as they keep the family together andlead everyone onto the path of progress.Girls have greater perseverance; they are better able to suffer losses thanmen. They are more honest, more diligent and even after suffering fromcenturies they are ever ready to become the strong Foundation on which thesociety can stand and flourish.Kritika KatariaST CS

He has prepared an android application which has manydownloads“Firstly I developed an online app LyricWorld.in (The Online Lyrics Library) whereyou can find lyrics of Bollywood songs, listen music, watch videos, download audio, text file and also find Guitar Chords. Platform used: Php, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3,JQuery. This encouraged me to develop an android app for this so that we couldenjoy all this stuff on our smartphones. Also to add a little bit of fun I added a gamenamed \"Fruit+Masti\" in which we have make combos of the different types of fruits. It was great experience working on both the application and the game. You can findthe game @ App For Android. Hope you enjoy it. Platform used:HTML,JAVASCRIPT,CSS,JQuery,PhP API(For Fetching Data),PhoneGap”Third Prize in Intercollege competition “Cross Road” held at Hi-Tech Institute of Engineering and Technology“We made a model on the concept of “Smart City” under the guidance of our teachersMs. Nandani and Ms. Charu. It was a state level innovation competition on 3th to 4thNov 2015. We as a team worked very hard and everyone’s contribution wasremarkable.
We named our project 'Future City' in which we basically focused on the roadnetwork plan (we suggested an elevated rotatory at the center which is made in sucha way that it reduces traffic problems). There were participants from all over thestate and had very nice projects, so it was a tough fight but we managed to gainappreciation from the audience and the judges.Members:1.Arun Sharma2.Gaurav Awana3.Bhavek Sharma4.Gaurav Tyagi5.Pramod6.Divas Goel7.Rahul8.Satyendra”
The classical Music program was conducted on 6th September 2015 in Delhi wheremy Sir was invited and I accompanied him on the Tanpura and as a co-singer. It wasfeatured on the News Channel of RajyaSabha. Our college had conducted a competition “Yuva Bhushan” on 2nd January 2016which included an aptitude test followed by personal interview, group discussionand physical fitness test. The top three winners were awarded with cash prizes of Rs. 2500 each and weresent to Mumbai for the final round. This was a great encouragement and motivationform our college.
