THE REGENCY AUCTION 32 MAY 15 & 16 | NEW ORLEANS | HARRAH'S Dear Numismatic Enthusiast! Welcome to the 32nd Regency Auction! For the third time in 12 months, we were consigned enough coins to break the sale up into two sessions. The sale is anchored by numerous important collections, and like the May 2018 Regency Auction, Day 1 is focused on silver dollars, and Day 2 is focused on fantastic coins from all other series. We are very proud of the overall scope and quality of the coins that appear in the sale. Dollar Day kicks off with three spectacular early dollars, all from the PUG Collection. Each coin is a highlight of the sale! Immediately following is the Issaquah Estate No Motto Seated Liberty and Peace Dollar collections, assembled over the course of more than a decade by a Legend Numismatics client. An extensive selection of Morgan dollars makes up the majority of the rest of the session, including SUPERB GEM selections from the famed Vanderbilt Collection and the Coronet Collection II. Offered between these SUPERB coins are other highly collectible dollars, including many affordable grade, better date issues. Also, as always, beautifully toned and DMPL dollars are offered for the specialists. Thursday’s session offers an unbelievable selection of RARE U.S. coins! We start the session with the Wolverine Collection. This collection, assembled over the better part of two decades, includes many high end GEM and SUPERB GEM Proof Indian Cents, Superb Mint State Barber dimes, and a few other type coins mixed in for good measure. Coins from all U.S. series follow, with more high-end Proof Indian cents leading the way. The Northern Lights Collection of Proof Buffalo nickels, the PUG Collection of Bust quarters and $3 gold pieces, and amazing selections from the S.S. Central America shipwreck, including the monster toned Supernova MS67 CAC 1857-S $20 will excite numismatists of all stripes. Between these areas of concentration are awe-inspiring type coins, better date gold, and rare patterns. As always, LRCA is dedicated to creating the finest curated, boutique numismatic auctions in the industry. You will clearly see that we were successful with the 634 lots that follow. Good luck! Warm regards, Julie Abrams President of Legend Rare Coin Auctions.

Laura Sperber P R I N C I PA L S Partner Laura was raised in Highland Park, NJ. During high school, the coin bug hit her hard. Her trip to the 1976 NYC Bruce Morelan ANA left a lasting mark and huge desire for her to own and handle the greatest rarities. While attending Monmouth Partner University, Laura attended coin shows more than classes. After college, she started LSS RCI, a wholesale coin company. In 1986, she realized the need for a “better” coin retailer and teamed up in 1986 with George Huang to form Julie Abrams Legend Numismatics. President In 1996 Bruce Morelan became a partner and since then Legend has exclusively built or assisted in assembling this generation’s greatest collections. In 2012 Laura saw the need for a smaller, boutique auction firm, and created Legend-Morphy with Dan Morphy, whom she split with in 2014. Today, Laura is also a leading consumer advocate for coins. The passion has never subsided, and she keeps a beautiful Proof Walker on her desk to this day. Bruce started collecting coins when he was only six years old and by the time he was in high school his dream was to be a coin dealer. But life intervened and instead, Bruce went into business. By chance, he became Legend Numismatics’ financial backer in 1996. His great grandmother had given him three coins when he was young, one of which being a Trade Dollar, so he set out to build the finest Trade Dollar set. After a few years with ultra rarities, Bruce returned to his love of dollars and completed both a set of Gobrechts and a set of Seated Dollars. After selling those sets, Bruce recently returned to dollars with a new Gobrecht set and a spectacular early dollar set capped by his dream coin, the Amon Carter 1794 Dollar. Not many collector’s can say they have completed not only the finest 1794-1885 Dollar Sets and have over the years owned such coins as two 1913 Liberty Head Nickels, an 1894-S Dime, 1876-CC Twenty Cent piece, 1827 Original and Restrike Quarters, 1838-O Half Dollar, two 1885 Trade Dollars and four 1884 Trade Dollars! Julie Abrams started in numismatics in 1986 when she joined up with Bernard Rome and launched Teletrade, the first computerized auction company. Teletrade developed a unique coin trading method, utilizing state-of-the-art digitized voice board technology to run live auctions before the advent of the internet. As President of Teletrade, Julie helped expand the company, increasing the frequency of auctions and expanding annual sales to $24 million within a few years. In 1999, GMAI, a publicly traded company, purchased Teletrade and Ms. Abrams became Executive Vice President of Sales for the parent company. Her job responsibilities included continuing her role as CEO for Teletrade as well as marketing to buyers and consignors, with the goal of maintaining a balance between inventory and sales while growing the business. In 2004 she joined Stacks-Bowers, an old world traditional auction house where she worked to expand their e-commerce presence, including the development of an online bidding platform for the firm. She also marketed Stacks’ programs to secure consignments from dealers and institutions such as banks, museums and universities. DOLLAR DAY DOLLAR DAY Welcome to LRCA’s second Dollar Day auction session. Our first Lot 17 Dollar Day was at the Regency Auction 26, and featured the record The Share-Legend-Issaquah 1857 Seated Liberty dollar, graded MS64 breaking PFM and Crow River collections. This year, to continue that by PCGS and CAC. tradition and success, Dollar Day will feature several outstanding Lot 23 consignments, from full collections to breathtaking individual coins. The Issaquah Estate Peace dollar set begins with a glorious 1921 in The session will begin with three early dollars from the Pug Collection, PCGS MS66 CAC. each of which would be a highlight of any auction, but to have the Lot 36 three together, is truly a momentous numismatic event. Another amazing GEM Peace dollar from the Issaquah Estate, a PCGS/CAC 1925-S. Following these spectacular coins are the No Motto Seated Liberty Lot 73 and Peace dollars from the Issaquah Estate. The estate belonged to $1 1879-CC CAPPED DIE. PCGS MS65+ CAC a long-time customer of Legend Numismatics who passed away last Lot 95 year. The Seated Dollar portion includes many old friends, including $1 1882-S PCGS MS68+ CAC coins that were once a part of the famed Legend Collection. Lot 129 A VERY CHOICE 1889-CC PCGS MS64 CAC from the Coronet Following Issaquah Estate are a wide range of Morgan Dollars, including Collection, 2. a selection of SUPERB GEM coins from the Vanderbilt Collection. Eliasberg Collection, PCGS MS64 CAC. 8

DOLLAR DAY LOT 1 $1 1795 B-3, BB-11. SILVER PLUG. PCGS AU55 CAC FROM THE PUG COLLECTION. Ex Hesselgesser, as noted on the holder. Not only is this is one of the most impressively provenanced early dollars that we have had the pleasure of auctioning, it is also very high end and beautifully eye appealing. We believe it may be the finest BB-11. Sharply struck from an early die state of the first Flowing Hair die pair employed. As such, it is arguably one of the first dollars struck in 1795. Satiny and vibrant mint luster clings to the surfaces, which are toned with a majestic blue, russet, gold, and violet. The toning around the central silver plug are especially spectacular. A forceful blow from the dies have imparted a very crisp strike. The details are sharply struck up, and were it not for some light friction on the highest points, the details would be totally complete. Some minor traces of contact were obtained during this coin’s very brief stay in early federal commerce. The coinage act of April 1792 that established the U.S. mint, also created the standards for the content of each authorized denomination. By late 1792, several patterns and 1,500 half dismes had been produced, but mint officials had to post surety bonds in order to strike gold and silver coins, so the only coins struck in 1793 were half cents and cents. In 1794 silver coins began to be struck, most of which were half dollars and a small number of silver dollars. The standards required that precious metal coins be within a very narrow weight tolerance, overweight planchets were filed down to proper weight; underweight planchets were sometimes treated with a silver plug, where a small hole was drilled into the blank planchet and a plug of silver was inserted, then flattened when the coin was struck. When this coin was cataloged as part of the Philip Flannagan Collection in November 2001, the cataloger noted that there were some light adjustment marks at the lower reverse rim, which suggests that the coiners were trying hard to get the weight “just right.” Since this coin was struck using the earliest state of the first die marriage of the year, it is suggested that this may have been the first 1795 silver plug dollar struck. This coin’s provenance is known going back to June 1885, when T. Harrison Garrett bought this coin from Lyman Low’s 8th Sale, lot 59. It remained in the Garrett Collection at Johns Hopkins University until it was consigned to Stack’s March 1976 sale of the Garrett Collection, lot 245. From there, it resided in private collections, next appearing in the Bowers & Merena November 2001 sale of the Philip Flannagan Collection, lot 4204. It was purchased by the Cardinal Collection; sold in ANR’s June 2005 sale of the Cardinal Collection, lot 6; intermediaries to Dr. Hesselgesser in February 2008. Hesselgesser Collection, Goldberg’s September 2011, lot 5000. Most recently sold in May 2012 Goldberg, for $103,500. PCGS 4, NGC 0, CAC 1. As noted this is the most recently sold example, which realized $103,500 seven years ago. The current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $120,000. This is one of the most historically important 1795 dollars struck. Add to that the amazing eye appeal and technical qualities, and you get a stunning type coin or Flowing Hair dollar for a major variety set. We anticipate very strong bidding for this GEM AU coin when it crosses the block. PCGS# 6854 | ESTIMATE: $100,000+ 9

DOLLAR DAY LOT 2 $1 1798 LARGE EAGLE. PCGS AU58+ CAC Ex. Col. E.H.R. Green and Eric P. Newman Collections. B-15, BB-115, Pointed 9, Close Date variety, considered to be R-4. Arguably the FINEST KNOWN of this variety. In the 2013 revision of Q. David Bowers’ Encyclopedia of U.S. Silver Dollars, 1794-1804 lists the NGC-graded Warren Miller AU58 as the finest in the Notable Specimens. NO Mint State coins are known, and he estimates that 5-8 examples are known in AU. Ranking above all other listed examples in his census, is this coin, with a provenance that goes back perhaps as much a century. Think about that, in nearly 100 years this coin was owned by just THREE collectors: Col. Green, Eric Newman, and the present consignor. An impressive, nearly Mint State Bust dollar, boasting a SUPERB eye appeal. Highly lustrous, with champagne-tinged silver surfaces in the center, yielding to rings of blue, coppery-orange, and gold toning at the rims. PCGS 27, NGC 43, CAC 6. This coin sold in the November 2017 sale of Part IX of the Eric Newman Collection, realizing $33,600 as an NGC coin. This is truly an historic opportunity to add the FINEST example of this somewhat scarce die marriage to your set, and you really cannot beat the look! We love this coin, and we think you will too. Bound for a great early dollar set or type set! Expect bidding to be very strong here, this one will not sell cheap! Good luck! PCGS# 6873 | ESTIMATE: $30,000+ 10

DOLLAR DAY LOT 3 $1 1799 PCGS MS64+ CAC Ex Flannagan Collection, as noted on the PCGS insert. B-12b, BB-160. This beautiful, essentially GEM 1799 is among the very FINEST of the variety known. An old friend, as it was once part of Phil Flannagan’s collection of early dollars that our founder, Laura Sperber helped build. It is truly one of the most beautiful Bust dollars Legend Rare Coin Auctions has ever had the honor of offering. Sharply struck devices stand out with a lovely frosty texture, which contrasts nicely against the satiny, almost semi-reflective, lustrous fields. Beneath a moderate dusting of gold that blends to blue and coppery-amber at the rims, the surfaces are essentially flawless. A powerful glass fails to uncover anything but the most insignificant trace tick or line, all ancient and mostly hidden within the original patina. Every detail is crisply rendered by a powerful blow from the screw press. Liberty’s curled strands of hair show full separation, and there is just the barest trace of weakness at her shoulder. The reverse is fully struck up, with every feather, every shield line, every vein in the leaves brought out to its full glory. Both sides are well centered on the board planchet, and the dentils are full on both sides. We note (mostly hidden by the PCGS holder) a small flaw in at the rim between the B and R of LIBERTY. That and the wonderfully original coloration will always serve to identify this as the Flannagan coin. This is one of just two varieties where the olive branch has no berries, making it popular among collectors. Struck from Die State III, which shows several prominent die cracks around the date, one that curves up through Liberty’s drapery and one that curves up toward the inner point of star 1. The obverse surfaces show a “pebbly” texture typical for the variety, and this is seen in parts of the fields, and in the details, like Liberty’s hairlines. This variety is not rare in an absolute sense, with Dave Bowers estimating between 650 and 1,150 surviving in all grades, most of these XF or lower. In AU and lower Mint State it is RARE, and extremely rare in such a lofty grade. This is the second coin in Dave Bower’s updated list of Notable Specimens in the 2013 revision of the early dollar encyclopedia, listed as ex: Heritage’s 1995 ANA auction, lot 6520; Philip Flannagan Collection, Bowers and Merena, November 2001, lot 4257; Jack Lee Collection III, Heritage, November 2005, lot 2192; Joseph C. Thomas Collection, Heritage, April 2009, lot 2552; intermediaries; our present consignor. Only a single example, which looking at old catalogs is hard to determine if it is a different coin (the toning pattern is similar) is the Waldo Newcomer; Col. E.H.R. Green; T. James Clark, Jascha Heifetz coin that last sold in Superior’s July 1993 auction as an NGC MS65. PCGS 11, NGC 13, CAC 4. PCGS has graded 3 in MS64+. As a non-CAC PCGS MS64, this coin sold a decade ago for $103,500. None of the MS64+s have ever sold in auction. The current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $125,000 and this one is certainly much more pleasing to the eye than the mottled Cardinal MS65 that sold in the 2015 ANA auction for $123,375. This stunning coin will elevate any dollar type set or date run of early dollars to a world class status. We can see this GEM selling for a very strong price. PCGS# 6854 | ESTIMATE: $110,000+ 11

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION Back in 2007, we got a call asking if we had any Mint State No Motto we then understood better why he would ask a certain series of questions Seated Dollars. At the time, we had one. The person on the phone was about a coin. Then one day we met him at an ANA show, and were delighted quite inquisitive. He wanted to know about all the details-especially the to see he was just a big old cream puff and was a really nice guy. strike. After what seem like a grueling 15 minutes, the coin was sold. When the collector got the coin, he called saying how much he loved Mint State Seated Dollars were his #1 collection followed by Peace it-and a relationship of 11 years was formed. Form that point on, we Dollars (we only sold him a few of those), and Uraguay coins (he has a helped him build a partial Mint State Seated Collection. We never knew 120+ incredible pieces). We are proud we helped him build his No Motto the extent of his coin collecting until we got the sad call from his wife he Seated Set which he worked on through early 2018. You’ll find all his had passed away and left a note for us to handle his coins. Mint State Seated are well struck (a must for him) and his Peace Dollars all have exceptional strikes and luster. His wish would be for his coins Issaquah is in Washington State out side of Seattle. Lovely area. The to end up in good homes where the owners would enjoy them as much Issaquah collector lived there over 20 years while he was employed by as he did. We are sad but honored he has allowed us to complete his last Boeing as a top engineer. When we had found that out about him (early on), collecting wishes. 12

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 4 $1 1842 PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE EX ELIASBERG All around this is an amazing coin. It certainly does border on GEM quality! To start, this coin is FULLY prooflike. If it were a Morgan we ‘d be telling you the mirrors are a full 8” and are DMPL status. Obviously this coin was a very early strike. Just like a Morgan, because of the deep mirrors you can see a few tiny ticks and giggles-but they are spread out. The mirrors resemble a fresh sheet of ice. An intense/luster/flash beams from all over. The contrast is as strong as any you’d see on a Cameo Proof. Clearly the reverse of this coin was sitting on felt. It has beautiful colors of original golden brown/pale violet. The obverse is pretty much untoned. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and stand out boldly with thick frost. The eye appeal is amazing! PCGS 17, NGC 20, CAC 7. For this coin, especially looking like this, ALL published price guides hold NO relevance. We placed this coin with Issaquah in 2011. You can search forever and will never see another 1842 like this (in fact the only other fully prooflike coin we have ever seen-the 1857-is in this sale). We are basing our estimate on what we strongly believe this coin is worth at high wholesale. But then, the last PCGS CAC piece sold in 2015-4 years ago and certainly was not anywhere as wild as this coin. For a MS Seated Dollar, this coins is a MONSTER! PCGS# 6928 | ESTIMATE: $15,000+ LOT 5 $1 1843 PCGS MS63 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE What a coin! This is no question a SUPER HIGH END piece (its still in its older holder). To the naked eye you don’t see much due to the toning. When using a strong glass you can see some scattered light ticks and lines. Nothing is serious or dug in. A strong luster glows from all over. Both sides are evenly covered by wonderful deeper original toning. The obverse has shades of evergreen/rose/pale blue. The reverse has navy/purple colors. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is refreshing! PCGS 18, NGC 7, CAC 11 (obviously there was a resub many times). The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought only $6,600 in August 2018. We placed this coin with Issaquah for $9,500 back in 2009! We think this coin is worth much more. For a MS Seated Dollar, this coins is a MONSTER! PCGS# 6929 | ESTIMATE: $7,000+ 13

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 6 $1 1844 PCGS MS63 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE HIGH END. We have seen many 1844 Mint State Seated Dollars. We do very much consider this coin to be above average. Also, the rarity of this date can’t be over hyped. Boldly semi-prooflike to nearly fully prooflike surfaces are something you do not have to imagine. Save for one area of small cuts/scrapes in the upper right obverse field, the surfaces have only light scattered ticks that you need a strong glass to see. To the naked eye this coin looks clean. A bold glowing luster and the flash of the mirrors make this coin visible from feet away. The obverse has a totally original mix of deeper golden brown/reddish gold. The reverse has big slashes of navy/purple toning. There also is good cameo contrast on the obverse. Miss Liberty and the details are frosted and are fully sharply struck. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 8, NGC 2, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only 4 coins higher. The last one of these to sell in auction brought $12,925 in July 2017. The current Collectors Universe value is $12,000. A PCGS CAC MS64 sold in auction for $41,125 back in 2013. One more fact: we placed this coin with Issaquah back in 2009. This is a very hard to find date in nice and true MS like this! PCGS# 6930 | ESTIMATE: $11,000+ LOT 7 $1 1845 PCGS MS62 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE No question this is a totally original coin. We consider it HIGH END as well. To the naked eye the surfaces are clean and smooth. Only when using a strong glass can you see a few scattered tiny ticks. There is a thick totally original toning that we think keeps the coin from a MS63 grade. The toning has colors of pale navy/deep gun metal grey/pale evergreen colors. You can see traces of light semi-prooflike mirrors when you tilt the coin. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is excellent! PCGS 6, NGC 4, CAC 1. PCGS has graded only 5 coins higher. While NGC has graded only 3 higher. This is an exceptionally rare date and grade. PCGS auction records show the last one selling (NO CAC of course) way back in 2008 for $18,400! That was forever ago! We expect strong bidding here as this is a coin you just can not find in MS. Good luck! PCGS# 6931 | ESTIMATE: $15,000+ 14

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 8 $1 1846 PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE VERY HIGH END. For an original Mint State Seated Dollar, the quality is wonderful! Superior surfaces do appear clean and satiny smooth. Only when using a strong glass can you detect some minor and widely scattered ticks. For an 1846, the luster is above average and glows strongly from all over. Both sides are an original white mixed with original pale golden toning. We do grade the reverse MS64+. Miss Liberty and the details are thickly frosted and are extremely well struck. The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 23, NGC 20, CAC 6. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought only $7,638 in December 2016 (in a lower market). We placed this coin with Issaquah way back in 2008 for the price of $13,250. It is horrible what has happened to the pricing of the series because a few bad coins came to be. The current Collectors Universe value is only $9,000. We cannot stress enough how overall rare any MS64 and higher Seated Dollar is! PCGS# 6932 | ESTIMATE: $7,500+ LOT 9 $1 1846-O PCGS MS62 FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE No question to us this is a HIGH END and gorgeous coin. We do not know why CAC did not bean it. Even though the coin is toned you can see the semi prooflike mirrors (no imagination needed). There are just a handful of ticks spread all over. We actually think the surfaces are fine even if the coin was graded MS63. Both sides are fairly flashy. Beautiful layers of original colors are spread all over. A circle of royal blue surrounds the rims only on the obverse. The rest of the coin is toned deep golden brown with pale hints of magenta. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do have light frost. The eye appeal is exceptional! PCGS 10, NGC 9, CAC 2. The last PCGS no CAC coin that sold in auction brought $7,000 in April 2018. We placed this coin with the Issaquah Collector back in 2007 for $12,500. We’ve seen a few MS63’s that do not look anywhere as nice as this. The current Collectors Universe Value is $10,000. Opportunity knocks loud here for the picky Mint State Seated Collector! PCGS# 6933 | ESTIMATE: $7,500+ 15

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 10 $1 1847 PCGS MS64 Even though CAC did not bean it, we really do like it. Our sister company Legend Numismatics placed this coin way back in 2007-and they say they would again. Overall, the surfaces are exceptionally clean and smooth. Only when using a strong glass can you see a few light scuffs and widely scattered ticks. Nothing is serious or stands out. For an 1847, this coin has a good luster. Both sides are evenly covered by an original mix of pale reddish gold/pale golden brown/pale off white colors. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have light frost. There is no discoloration on the knees. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 11, NGC 9, CAC 0. The last example to sell in auction brought $5,875 back in 2015-4 long years ago! This is a nice and very fresh coin that has been off the market for 12 years. We think it will sell for closer to the current Collectors Universe Value of $10,000. This coin WILL be a very nice addition to any choice/GEM set! PCGS# 6934 | ESTIMATE: $8,500+ LOT 11 $1 1849 PCGS MS63 FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE Yet another Seated Dollar where CAC showed no mercy. We think this coin is pretty neat. This coin actually has real prooflike mirrors-no imagination needed. Save for a few SMALL cuts in the left obverse field, this coin is remarkably free of any other problems of any size. We think CAC had a problem with the colors. We strongly believe they are original. They are just deep (no damage). Both sides have deep colors of olive/evergreen/purple/green/gold that vividly swirl together. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have delicate frost. The eye appeal is pretty remarkable! PCGS 20, NGC 14, CAC 4. The last PCGS piece to sell in auction brought $4,406 in November 2015. That sure was a while ago now. The current Collectors Universe Value is $6,500. We try to be as accurate as possible, however, as with any auction coin, we recommend you view it to make your own opinion. This coin we strongly suggest it. PCGS# 6936 | ESTIMATE: $5,000+ 16

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 12 $1 1850 PCGS MS63 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE We placed this coin with the Issaquah collector in early 2007. For an 1850, this piece is seriously above average! The obverse is more semi-prooflike while the reverse is more satiny. One thing both sides do have in common, hardly any ticks and NO scuffs. There is some luster, that mixed with the flash, makes the coin stand out. Both sides have a deep mix of totally original navy/pale purple/pale olive colors that are spread all over. We think at the time, PCGS felt the colors were a tad too dark and held back on the grade (no promises). Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck, including many of the stars. The eye appeal is nice! PCGS 8, NGC 9, CAC 6 (with only 2 beans higher). A NON PCGS CAC piece in MS63 sold for $14,100 in April 2017. How rare is the next grade up? The last auction record for one of the 2 PCGS has graded was from 2004! We can not stress enough how rare this date and grade are. The current Collectors Universe value is $16,500. We can see this really rare piece selling for much more. Be prepared! PCGS# 6937 | ESTIMATE: $15,000+ LOT 13 $1 1853 PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE VERY HIGH END! You can tell this coin has been carefully stored for many years. Looking carefully at the surfaces using a strong glass, there are just a few super light ticks scattered about-not enough to be annoying or visual. A surprising luster is strong and glows from all over. This coin has deeper and totally original album-like colors. The rims are olive/blue while the centers are purple/purple-teal. We easily rank the reverse as a 64+. When this coin was originally graded, PCGS did not like deeper or darker colors. So they were harsh. Its okay because this coin today stands out as well preserved. Miss Liberty and all the details are extremely well struck. The eye appeal is pretty neat! PCGS 18, NGC 34, CAC 7. The last PCGS CAC MS64 to sell in auction brought $11,163 in August 2017. It was not this coin as we placed this piece back in 2007 for $15,000. If you like some color and are picky on quality, this 1853 will be welcome in your collection. Good luck! PCGS# 6941 | ESTIMATE: $10,000+ 17

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 14 $1 1854 PCGS MS63 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE We are sad to say, this was the last coin purchased from us. Issaquah bought the coin in 2017 from a major collection we built that we were then selling. We cannot say we have seen a better MS63 1854. No question this coin is a borderline MS64! Outstanding surfaces are just that. Only with a strong glass can you find a tick or two. In fact, you can actually count the ticks (and one reverse reeding mark) on your hands. The surface texture is both sleek and satiny. A light luster (typical for this date) beams from all over. Both sides enjoy a moderate and totally original mix of pale blue/pewter/gold/golden brown/lilac colors that are evenly spread all over. This is NOT a dull or drab coin. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is neat! PCGS 6, NGC 6, CAC 2. PCGS has graded 10 coins higher-do not be fooled by that. Only 2 are CAC. And good luck finding them! The last one to sell in auction brought $21,600 in April 2018. We placed this con from the collection we had built for $18,500 in 2017 (this coin never hit the open market). We are sure the next owner will enjoy this coin in their collection as much as Issaquah did. Its a great 1854 for sure! PCGS# 6942 | ESTIMATE: $17,500+ LOT 15 $1 1855 PCGS MS61 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE We think this coin is SUPER HIGH END and a real numismatic treasure. This date is grossly UNDER estimated. For an MS61, this coin is not hacked up at all. Only when using a strong glass can you see a few scattered ticks and dings. There are NO serious marks or lines. Overall, the surfaces do appear smooth. A moderate glowing luster can be seen all over. Both sides enjoy a totally natural mix of colors that include: pale purple/golden brown/pale green/pewter. The colors are not splotchy or dull. Miss Liberty and the details have no rubbing anywhere and are all well struck. The eye appeal is terrific! PCGS 4, NGC 6, CAC 1. The last PCGS/CAC to sell at auction brought $12,396 back in January 2013. Keep in mind, this is a date where an MS64 (there are none higher) will sell for $150,000. To find a PCGS CAC piece this fresh and nice is like finding a needle in haystack. This will be a prize for any serious Mint State Seated Collector! PCGS# 6943 | ESTIMATE: $9,000+ 18

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 16 $1 1856 PCGS MS62 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE It is our strong opinion this coin is much better than an MS62. (We make no promises.) There is no question to us this coin is VERY HIGH END! Remarkable surfaces are just that. We used a strong glass and looked really hard all over and there were just a few widely scattered ticks to be found. There were no lines or other problems. A surprisingly strong luster illuminates both sides. Both sides are wrapped by a mix of original silver/olive/blue/pale purple colors. This is NOT a dull or drab coin. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and stand out. The eye appeal is very pleasing! PCGS 7, NGC 5, CAC 1. It is very critical to note of the possible 9 graded higher, CAC has only beaned 3 coins. Nothing is better than an MS64 at any grading service. This coin has been off the market since 2007. We can state factually this is not a date or grade we ever see. NO PCGS CAC pieces of MS62 and higher have ever been sold via auction. That is beyond a powerful statement as to this coin’s extreme rarity. The current Collectors Universe value seems too cheap at $6,500. This is a huge silver coin that is legitimately rare and seems like $10,000 should be a value. We expect strong specialists bidding on this piece. Good luck! PCGS# 6944 | ESTIMATE: $6,000+ LOT 17 $1 1857 PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE EX STERLING/LEGEND This remarkable piece is from the original Mint State Seated Dollar set Legend build with our partner Bruce Morelan. We had purchased the entire Sterling Collection just to get at a few coins. This was one. In fact, it took us many years to find one better (the David Akers personal coin). The coin is remarkably FULLY prooflike. At first glance you think it is a proof. The quality is seriously HIGH END! Outrageous surfaces have full booming mirrors. You do not have to imagine them. Amazingly, there are NO visible ticks or lines. Even when using a strong glass anything you find is at most microscopic. The flash is bold and “in your face”. A light hint of gold is spread all over. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and are covered with thick creamy frost. The only small negative about this coin-the stars are not struck up. We have no idea how that can happen when most likely this is an early strike (unless weak dies were used). The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 5, NGC 20, CAC 7. PCGS has only graded 3 higher -possibly. The last PCGS CAC MS64 1857 to sell in auction brought $10,825 in January 2018. Of course it looked nothing like this. We paid over $100,000 for the MS65+. The coin offered here was placed by us in the Issaquah Collection back in 2007 for $15,000. All we can say is really? How many has anyone ever seen that look like this? PCGS# 6945 | ESTIMATE: $11,000+ 19

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 18 $1 1859 PCGS MS63 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE WOW! For an 1859 this coin is SUPERB! We consider it an MS63+, however that does NOT mean PCGS will ever. We have full respect for this date and how it does not come nice. Superior surfaces are exceedingly clean and sleek. On the obverse you can see only one reeding mark. It takes a strong glass to see other microscopic scattered ticks. We unhesitatingly grade the reverse MS64. A strong luster beams well from all over. An original mix of light to moderate silver/pale reddish greenish gold colors swirl all over. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are sharply struck. The eye appeal is very pleasing! PCGS 14, NGC 10, CAC 2. There are NO auction records of any PCGS CAC MS63’s ever selling. The current Collectors Universe Value is $5,500. Again, this series has been unfairly overlooked price wise. With only 2 beaned in MS63, that proves how tough it is to find them nice. Opportunity knocks loud here! PCGS# 6946 | ESTIMATE: $4,500+ LOT 19 $1 1859-O PCGS MS64+ CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE One thing we know better than anyone-what a true GEM Mint State Seated Dollar should look like. We unhesitatingly call this coin GEM Mint State! We call it an MS64.9+ with out hesitation as well. Incredible surfaces are exceedingly clean and smooth. All we can find (looking really hard with a loop) is a small patch of ticks at 10:00 on the obverse which is well hidden. There are NO other ticks. We grade the reverse a full MS65. There is a faint trace of semi-prooflike mirrors too. A moderate luster beams from all over. Both sides enjoy an even light totally original pewter color with splashes of olive/pale blue. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and stand out. The eye appeal is that of a full GEM coin! PCGS 30, NGC 22, CAC 6. PCGS has graded only 2 coins in MS64+ and 2 coins higher (one of which we placed in our Legend set back in 2004 for $85,000). We placed this coin with the Issaquah Collector in 2017. The last auction record for this date was from January 2017 when a coin fetched $10,575 (a different coin than this). We actually paid much more for this superb piece. We know if you are a super picky buyer and need an 1859-O for your Mint State Seated set or a Type set, this coin will fit all of the toughest requirements. Opportunity can’t knock any louder than it does here! PCGS# 6947 | ESTIMATE: $10,000+ 20

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 20 $1 1860 PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE EX SHARE/LEGEND Here is another HIGH END example of an underrated Mint State Seated Dollar. This coin came out of the little known but amazing Share Collection which was a complete GEM set and included ALL Patterns! For a long time, this coin was in our #1 set. It has not been offered on the open in market in many years! Virtually flawless surfaces are hard to beat. You can see only one reeding mark on the left reverse. Even when using a strong glass there are no other real marks to be seen. The surfaces do have a sleek appearance. A full luster booms boldly from all over. Both sides have a light original golden brown color. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and have delicate frost. The eye appeal is nice! PCGS 27, NGC 16, CAC 8. PCGS has graded only 6 coins higher. The last PCGS CAC 1860 in MS64 to sell brought $9,462 in November 2016. We strongly feel virtually all price guides have this date and grade listed too low in value. Try and get another nice PCGS CAC coin-good luck! The last MS65 to sell brought $50,525 in March 2016. This coin will be a great fit for any VERY choice Mint State Set! PCGS# 6949 | ESTIMATE: $8,500+ LOT 21 $1 1860-O PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE EX LEGEND No question this coin is HIGH END. For a bigger coin, it lacks all the little miseries you typically find. Also, this was a coin from our partner’s original set! Yet another fabulous quality piece from the Issaquah Collection. Obviously this coin did not see much of the outside world after it left the Mint. All ticks/lines are extremely light and well scattered. Even using a strong glass they are non issues. There actually is a decent visible luster. Both sides have an even moderate mix of original reddish gold/golden brown/blue/deep pewter colors. There are no discolorations anywhere. We grade the reverse MS64+. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and do standout. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 27, NGC 24, CAC 8. The lat PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $6,463 in January 2018. That price seems ridiculously cheap to us. We placed this coin in the Issaquah Collection way back in 2007 for $7,000. This type of rarity deserves a much better appreciation than that! The last PCGS CAC MS65 we sold was back in 2013 and that was for $67,500. This will be a great coin for any choice collection! ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 22 $1 1863 PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE EX SHARE We love this flashy near miss GEM! No question it is HIGH END. Powerful semi-prooflike mirrors beam vividly from all over. The surfaces look smooth and really clean. You can see a few of the typical die polishing lines (Mint made). It takes a strong glass to see some widely scattered ticks. This coin has strong contrast. Both sides are a creamy off white with golden brown highlights. Miss Liberty and the details stand out with fully struck details and super thick frost. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 15, NGC 22, CAC 6. The last PCGS/CAC example to sell in auction brought $17,625 in August 2013. 6 years and no others have crossed the auction block? That is powerful proof as to the rarity of this Civil War date in choice/GEM condition. We’re sure plenty of MS Seated collectors will vie for this super nice coin. Be ready and good luck! PCGS# 6953 | ESTIMATE: $11,000+ LOT 23 $1 1864 PCGS MS64 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE Even though there are a few 1864’s in MS65, this coin is really nice. We assure you, we have seen a 65 or two that does not look as nice as this! Overall, the surfaces look clean and sleek to the naked eye. Only using a strong glass can you see some tiny scuffs and ticks (mostly on the left obverse). There is a bold glowing luster that is powerful and can be seen from a distance. The obverse also has faint traces of semi-prooflike mirrors when you tilt the coin. A beautiful and totally original mix of golden brown/reddish gold colors swirl all over. Miss Liberty and all of the details are fully struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is gorgeous! PCGS 6, NGC 7, CAC 3. Here is a shocker, the last PCGS coin to sell in auction brought $20,700 in April 2008. The last NGC coin to sell in auction was back in 2007. THIS DATE IS EXTREMELY RARE IN MS64! Now this coin is perfect for someone who does not want an MS65! It has the looks, the rarity, and the freshness. We expect strong bidding here, so be ready! PCGS# 6954 | ESTIMATE: $17,500+ 22

ISSAQUAH ESTATE COLLECTION LOT 24 $1 1921 PEACE, HIGH RELIEF. PCGS MS66 CAC FROM THE ISSAQUAH ESTATE We have never ever seen a 1921 Peace Dollar with real colors like this coin displays. Plus, the quality is SUPERB! To the naked eye this coin appears clean and super frosty. However, when using a strong glass you can see some frost breaks and light ticks widely scattered around. The obverse has a stunning small crescent of iridescent gold/pale green colors. There is a small streak of toning (NOT A CUT) coming down from the L in Liberty on the obverse. The balance of the coin is original white with a pale shade of lavender. This coin is NOT dull or drab or even close. A surprisingly strong luster beams from all over. The Issaquah collector was extremely picky about the strikes on his Peace Dollars. You can easily see that on this coin. Miss Liberty and every detail are as well struck up as you will ever see. No need to imagine the “deep dish” look-its as bold as can be. The eye appeal of this coin fabulous! PCGS 190, NGC 135, CAC 37. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $19,200 in January 2019. We would think with the color this coin has, it will easily bring more. The first of many different Red Book varieties struck in this most popular series. The first reverse type was struck with the eagle having 8 tail feathers--which is not accurate, as bald eagles have 7 tail feathers. After the ornithological error was pointed out, the reverse was redone to make it correct. 699,300 examples of the 8 Tail Feather reverse were struck, and this one is a very rare HIGH GRADE survivor--typically these are seen in MS65 or lower. Mostly full details show just some weakness in some of Liberty’s hair strands. The reverse shows some minor die grease on the reverse, as made at the mint. We note a few tiny ticks that keep this coin limited to the assigned MS63 level, but the eye appeal is outstanding! The 79-CC is a classic key date issue, with just 756,000 struck. DOLLAR DAY LOT 73 $1 1879-CC CAPPED DIE. PCGS MS65+ CAC This particular piece has one been one of Legend Numismatics favorite CC’s. For a Capped Die, this coin is exceptional in EVERY respect! It also happens to be TIED FOR FINEST at PCGS! Capped Dies are much softer in strike and appearance compared to a regular GEM 79-CC. This coin has remarkable clean super clean and satiny smooth surfaces. To the naked eye the worst you see is a few small frost breaks. Her cheek is super clean and will please any picky grader. The eye appeal is magnificent! The Capped Die variety is avidly sought, and the name is a bit of a misnomer, some catalogers more accurately call it “CC over CC” Listed as a Top 100 variety in the VAM series, it is a popular Red Book listed issue. In the past, the Capped Die was thought of as “a poor man’s 1879-CC,” but modern research has proven how rare this issue is! PCGS 16, NGC 7, CAC 6.
