THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 264 25C 1895-S PCGS MS66 While the mintage of 1,764,681 is well within the normal range of quarters for the era, like so many Barber dates, very few were saved at the time of issue. That any survive in such high-end grades is a matter of pure happenstance. The presently offered GEM is a marvel of survival. Boldly lustrous with full, rolling cartwheels that bring the rich blue-slate, teal, and golden-peach hues to a brilliant vivacity. Sharply struck on both sides, with crisp, bold, complete details on Liberty and the eagle. The eye appeal is superb and totally original.PCGS 3, NGC 2. How is this for RARE? In the last 18 years, before this coin’s public offering, there has been the opportunity to buy a PCGS MS66 exactly twice in auction, once in 2000 and most recently in November 2017. The current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $6,000 and the APR in November was $4,080. This coin should bring more! PCGS# 5612 | ESTIMATE: $4,500+LOT 26525C 1896 PCGS MS67 CACA stone bold, totally originalSUPERB GEM! Tied for FINESTGRADED at PCGS, one fleetingglance at this remarkable coinand you can see why!A strong, satin mint brillianceglows on both sides withshades of violet, teal, apricot, and crimson grace bothsides, especially the reverse, and stand out against thefrosty untoned areas of silver, especially on the obverse. Thecrisply impressed devices aresharp and complete, fully rendered from an exacting strike from the dies. As should be expected from one of the FINESTexamples of this date, the eye appeal is incredible!PCGS 6, NGC 1, CAC 5. The most recent example to sell in auction realized $11,750 in the October 2014 Gene GardnerCollection sale; prior to that, it had previously sold for $18,400 in April 2009. Today’s Collector’s Universe Value isridiculously low, at $9,500. We know this coin will bring that, or more! It is SUPERB!PCGS# 5613 | ESTIMATE: $8,000+ 149

THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 266 25C 1897-O PCGS MS66+ CAC Another absolutely SUPERB GEM in this collection. An iridescent layer of pleasing, old time collection patina is really brought out vividly with a bold, satiny underlying luster. Emerald, rose, and gold tones blend with aqua and lilac, the subtleties of the shades brought out in a light. Well struck with nearly full, crisp definition on both sides. Even using a strong glass, you will have a very difficult time trying to locate even the slightest flaw. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 35, NGC 5, CAC 5. There are only 14 coins graded MS66+ at PCGS, none at NGC and only two coins are graded finer. None of these 66+s have ever sold in auction. The most recent MS66 PCGS/CAC to sell in auction realized $14,100. Nothing finer than MS66 has ever sold in auction in a PCGS holder. This remarkable SUPERB quarter could well bring a RECORD PRICE! PCGS# 5617 | ESTIMATE: $11,000+ LOT 267 25C 1897-S PCGS MS66+ CAC WOW! This coin is AMAZING! There really is a lot to LOVE about this SUPERB GEM. Of the original mintage of 542,229, there are very few coins that survive in such high grades. Tied for second finest graded at PCGS. The fields show flashy, semi-prooflike that beam with icy brilliance. The devices are totally frosty and well struck, showing off a very pleasing cameo-like contrast. Framing both sides is a narrow band of blue, orange, amber, gold, around the rims, making the brilliant silvery centers stand out even more. A few tiny marks can be seen with a strong glass, but they do not affect the SUPERB eye appeal of this impressive GEM! PCGS 5, NGC 2, CAC 2. PCGS has graded exactly 2 coins in MS66+ with only two coins finer. This coin sold in September 2013 for $15,275 and keep in mind that ANY PCGS MS67 will be a $30,000 coin (we just sold one in our December Regency Auction XXIV for $28,200. The current MS66+ Collector’s Universe value is listed at $18,000. This is an important opportunity for the advanced Barber quarter collector; do not let it pass you by! It is a personal favorite of the present cataloger. PCGS# 5618 | ESTIMATE: $15,000+150

THE PREMIER COLLECTIONLOT 26825C 1898-O PCGS MS66+ CACWe cannot believe the monster colors. Using the scalefor the Morgan Toners, this coin would be a full 9++! Wehave only ever seen a few higher-grade pieces with similarcolors. The quality is also SUPER High-end!Remarkable surfaces are perfect and have a semi satinytexture. Only a microscopic tick keeps this coin from beinga full MS67+. Even if it were a MS67, we would still love it.A really strong luster beams from all over. A head spinningcircular color mix of totally original green/blue/lime/paleviolet./tangerine colors open into light gold centers. MissLiberty and the details are thickly frosted and are sharplystruck. The eye appeal is UNBELIEVABLE!PCGS 6, NGC 2, CAC 3. This coin brought $18,976 in theAugust 2009 sale of the Duckor Collection. A MONSTERcolored GEM like this should easily beat the currentCollector’s Universe value of $20,000. We expect a full outbidding war over this remarkable coin-seeing is believing!PCGS# 5620 | ESTIMATE: $12,500+ 151

THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 269 25C 1900-O PCGS MS67+ GOLD CAC Hard to believe this incredible piece which is one of the finest O Mints in existence (actually it is the second finest known for the date). That is totally mind blowing! The quality is pure MS68 all the way (and is backed up by the GOLD CAC bean). Absolutely flawless surfaces are story in themselves. They are the epitome of perfection-even if you scrutinize them via a neutron microscope. The surface texture is thick and satiny. A moderate luster (never saw an 00-O with blazing luster) does beam from all over. A super mix of totally original olive/gold/champagne/green colors evenly covers both sides. The colors are not dull. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck (also hard to find on an O Mint) and are lightly frosted. The eye appeal is the same as the coins quality- incredible! PCGS 3, NGC 1, CAC 3. This is the ONLY MS67+ graded. The current Collector’s Universe Value is $20,000. This coin is of such crazy quality it is more than worth it! There is no question that 118 years ago when this coin left the bank it was never touched and sat carefully stored ever since. Pieces like this are just so rare. The ONLY reason this coin is for sale is the collector upgraded to the MS68+! His pursuit for the very finest of MS Barber Quarters (as proven by this coin and the MS68+) is unwavering. All the hard work has been done here for you! PCGS# 5626 | ESTIMATE: $18,000152

THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 270 25C 1902 PCGS MS66 CAC Frosty, fully lustrous satiny silver brilliance has a vibrant sheen in the light. Boldly and crisply struck up with exacting precision, this remarkable GEM looks as fresh today, as it did when it fell off the dies. PCGS 27, NGC 5, CAC 7. This is the Gardner coin that sold in October 2015 for $2,233. The current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $1,850. With its mint fresh look, this GEM should bring in excess of CU yet again. Good luck! PCGS# 5612 | ESTIMATE: $2,000+ OUR ESTIMATESThe estimates you see published in this catalog are based on HAMMER. Keep in mind that a coin could be either low or high end for the grade, have stunning color or be dull, all of which radically affect a coin’s value. Yes, there can be huge price differences within a grade, and we offer estimates as a guide so Collector’s can have a better idea of value. One thing we will never do is offer low ball estimates in order to claim stronger sales. These published estimates represent what Legend Rare Coin Auctions determines to be an approximate high wholesale value for the coin. The numbers are based upon current market values, similar trades, auction prices, published prices, and a consideration of the coin’s quality. There is no guarantee that the estimated prices are minimums or are exactly what you can expect to get if you attempt to resell them wholesale. We always advise you to view the coins you are interested in and calculate what you’ll pay using as much information as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us. We are here to help you! 153

THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 271 25C 1902-O PCGS MS66+ CAC A very high-end example of this conditionally RARE and underrated date. While the New Orleans mint delivered 4,748,000 quarters in 1902, most went right into commerce, where they would remain for a very long time, even “collector” grades (VF/XF/AU) are RARE. This highly lustrous example is well within the Condition Census for the date, and it is an amazing coin with a wicked look! The surfaces are smooth and free of any disturbances on either side. Vividly lustrous, with a radiant satin glow brings out the gold, blue, and iridescent shades. The eye appeal is very high-end and cannot be improved! PCGS 11, NGC 1, CAC 6. This is the ONLY MS66+ to ever sell in auction (out of only 3 so graded). In June 2017, this AMAZING GEM sold for $25,850 as part of the Blue Moon Collection, Part II. There is only ONE PCGS MS67 finer, that has NEVER sold in auction. What a GREAT coin for any amazing set of Barber quarters. Expect fierce bidding for this beautiful prize! PCGS# 5632 | ESTIMATE: $22,000+154

THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 272 25C 1903-O PCGS MS66+ CAC One of the FINEST 1903-O quarters that exists! SUPERB! Pastel patina gently dusts both sides of this High-end GEM brought out by a silky satin-like sheen. Light olive-gold, russet-tan, and lilac-blue hues are totally original and beautiful. PCGS 7, NGC 1, CAC 3. Only two are graded MS66+ and one coin is graded higher, so this SUPERB 1903-O is about as fine as anyone can ever hope toadd to their set. No MS66+ has sold in auction. A PCGS 66 CAC sold in February 2018 for $4,113 and the Eliasberg-Hugon- Gardner Collection coin, the sole MS67 sold for $32,900. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $9,500 and this coin will very likely exceed that level when the gavel falls. Opportunity knocks really louldly here! PCGS# 5635 | ESTIMATE: $8,000+LOT 27325C 1904-O PCGS MS66 CACA remarkable survivor of thisearly 20th century branchmint quarter. At the time, little attention was paid tomintmarked issues, and fewwere saved. Displaying thetypical softness in strike in theclaws, it is very well struckeverywhere else. A bold lusterhighlights the earthy shades ofgreen, blue, gold, and pewter. The eye appeal is totallyoriginal and high-end!PCGS 14, NGC 7, CAC 8. THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 274 25C 1905-O PCGS MS66+ CAC This remarkable SUPERB GEM ranks among the FINEST known examples. Sold as lot 1585 in the May 1996 Eliasberg sale, described as follows: “MS67. Heather and light golden toning over lustrous, satiny surfaces. Another remarkable Barber quarter, an outstanding gem specimen that is worthy of special note by the interested bidder.” To that we will note the exceptionally high quality and wonderful eye appeal. Eliasberg obtained this coin, as he did much of his collection via his purchase of the Clapp Estate in 1942. J.M. Clapp obtained this quarter, as he did with many coins, directly from the branch mint at the time of issue. PCGS 14, NGC 2, CAC 6. There are two coins graded MS66+, and only a single coin finer a MS67. This coin sold for $11,750 in the October 2015 Gardner Collection sale as an NGC MS67, and for $13,200 in the original Eliasberg Collection sale. The Current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $11,500. With only one coin finer, and with this coin’s AMAZING looks and provenance, we know it will sell for a very strong price today! The most recent of these to sell was a PCGS/CAC coin that sold for $4,935 in June 2017. Prior to that, one sold for $4,025 in January 2012. What a great opportunity for the advanced collector! Don’t let it slip you by! PCGS# 5644 | ESTIMATE: $3,500+156

THE PREMIER COLLECTION LOT 276 25C 1907 PCGS MS67+ CAC WOW, WOW, WOW! Obviously, this coin sat untouched since the day it left the bank 111 years ago. We do rank it as SUPER High-end! (It did come out of an NGC MS68 holder). Absolutely immaculate surfaces are special. Even using a strong glass will find you NO imperfections what so ever. The texture is satiny smooth. A warm glowing like luster beams from all over. Both sides are mostly original white with a splash of light gold. Miss Liberty and every detail is needle sharp in strike. The eye appeal is INCREDIBLE! PCGS 3, NGC 2, CAC 2. PCGS Has graded 2 MS67+ (the other is in impounded in a major collection). LOT 299 FUGIO 1787 UNITED STATES, 4 CINQ. PCGS MS65 BN CAC The presently offered Fugio is a superb, totally original, and unconserved GEM. Displaying a wonderful chocolate brown color that is wonderfully accented with a lustrous sheen. Nicely defined with a sharp strike, the motto MIND YOUR BUSINESS is clear, and the reverse rings are fully defined with intricate reverse clashing within. Among the FINEST examples graded, it is just about the most perfect, beautiful, satiny, GEM we’ve ever seen on a Fugio copper of any variety. Attributed as Newman 8-B, W-6740 variety, considered to be Rarity-3, and certainly among the best known! The Fugio copper is one of the first officially authorized coins struck for circulation in the young United States. Congress awarded a coinage contract to James Jarvis, and he was to strike up to 300 tons worth of copper into these coppers (sometimes referred to as Cents). It is estimated that some 400,000 were struck, far short of the millions anticipated. The design elements were taken from Continental paper currency notes issued the decade earlier, many inspired by Benjamin Franklin. The obverse, with its mottoes FUGIO and MIND YOUR BUISNESS, combined with the sundial motif translates roughly as “Time flies, so mind your business.” The 13 interlocking chain links on the reverse represent the 13 original states with UNITED STATES and WE ARE ONE in the center. PCGS 7, NGC 4, CAC 2. The last example to sell in auction was not CAC-approved and realized $9,400 in the November 2013 Stack’s Bowers auction. Across all varieties, there are certainly very few gems extant making this a very important opportunity for type Collector’s. LOT 3001C 1861 C.S.A. RESTRIKE, COPPER. PCGS PR64 BN CACA very historic relic of the Civil War, an issue that is rarelyoffered in any grade. Beautiful, iridescent toning gentlycaresses the smooth, brown copper surfaces. Both sidesare sharply struck and the fields offer a wealth of reflectionunder the toning. The eye appeal is excellent. The story of the Confederate Cent begins, not in therecently formed Confederacy of seceded southern states, but in Philadelphia, where die famous die sinker RobertLovett, on speculation, hoping to obtain a contract to strikecoins for the Confederate Government, engraved a pair ofdies. After striking a small number in copper-nickel (similarto the then circulating Indian cent), Lovett put the diesaway, the legend says, because he was afraid of the federalgovernment’s response to his aiding the Confederacy. Yearslater, they came to light when he apparently accentuallyspent his pocket piece in a Philadelphia bar. From there,he sold his dies to John Haseltine and Colvin Randall. They struck a total of 74 restrikes in Gold (7), Silver (12),and Copper (55). During the striking of the 56th copperexample, the dies cracked.PCGS 4, NGC 0, CAC 1. The most recent example was notCAC and sold for $43,475.
