LOT 506 25C 1854 ARROWS. PCGS MS65 A beautifully toned example of this two-year only type. Brilliant satin luster glows from under a delicate layer of pastel, iridescent toning. Soft rosy-pink, lavender-gray, golden-peach hues are really brought out when the luster catches the light. Very sharply struck with nearly completely crisp definition to the well struck devices. The eye appeal is more than decent on this GEM. PCGS 35, NGC 21. The current Collector’s Universe price is $5,500 and the most recent example to sell in auction realized $4,230, but it was no where near as attractive as the presently offered coin. We sold a 65+ for $14,688 in December 2017 and keep in mind a 66 will cost over $25,000. A great coin for any high grade Seated Quarter set. Wellstruck from an obversedie that has a spidery diecrack that loops aroundthe periphery. With a mintage of968,000, you would notthink that it was a majorcondition rarity, but the vast majority of the issue was distributed in the antebellum New Orleans area where they werecirculated for years with very few contemporary Collector’s to set examples aside, any Mint State survivor exists bypure happenstance.PCGS 3, NGC 0. There have been two appearances of PCGS MS65s at auction. LOT 508 25C 1865-S PCGS MS66+ CAC VERY High-end QUALITY HERE! Clearly one of the FINEST 1865-S quarters that survives from the original mintage of only 41,000. A billowing, brilliant mint luster swirls all over on both sides. Untoned, frosty silver looks as clean and free of flaw as the day it was struck, as one could reasonably expect of a coin graded so fine. Every detail is fully embossed from a precision and exacting blow from the dies. It is amazing to think that there may be two others graded 66+, tying this one for FINEST KNOWN status. PCGS 4, NGC 1, CAC 3. NGC has one coin reported at MS67, which is this coin. LOT 525 25C 1916 STANDING LIBERTY. PCGS MS67 FH258

LOT 525 25C 1916 STANDING LIBERTY. PCGS MS67 FH One of the absolute FINEST KNOWN examples of this classic 20th century rarity. Both sides are aglow with a bold satiny luster that gleams throughout the surfaces. SUPERB GEM quality surfaces show off a mellow dusting of clear champagne and subtle pewter tons, which brings out the sharpness of the details and are amplified by the brilliance of the mint luster. The strike is as fine as you will hope to encounter on a 1916 quarter. Only 52,000 examples were struck in December 1916, as part of the “Renaissance of American Coinage,” a period from 1907 to 1921 when some of the nations greatest sculptural artists redesigned America’s circulating coinage: from St. Gaudens’ Indian and Liberty Striding Forward designs on the $10 and $20 gold coins, to Anthony DiFrancesi’s Peace dollar design, every denomination underwent a makeover during this period, and are some of the most popular, endearing, andbeautiful designs ever used on our coins. Herman MacNeil’s Standing Liberty quarter design is a truly wonderful design, and this is an essentially perfect example for any collector to start his or her set with! PCGS 5, NGC 3. There is just a single coin graded finer, a 67+ FH that has not been sold in auction since 2010. The most recent PCGS MS67 FH sold in the 2015 FUN auction for $146,875. The record price for this grade is $149,500 for a coin sold in August 2010 and the 67+ FH sold in November that year for just shy of $200,000. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $165,000 and since these appear with such infrequency, it is very possible that that level will be exceeded by this AMAZING high grade example. A true 20th century trophy bound for one of the premier collections of Standing quarters and the opportunity should not be missed! PCGS# 5705 | ESTIMATE: $150,000+ 259

LOT 526 25C 1917 TYPE 2. PCGS MS66 FH CAC Conditionally rare any finer, This is about as fine a grade as most Collector’s can hope to add to their sets. After a few minor adjustments to the Type 1, including covering Liberty’s bare breast with some chain mail armor and three stars added under the eagle on the reverse. Sharply struck and offering a bold satin luster on the slightly rusted obverse, a hint of color graces the left rim of the obverse. PCGS 103, NGC 51, CAC 30. There have been only a half dozen PCGS/CAC coins ever sold in auction, going back to 2012. Each one has sold in the $1,500-$2,115 range and the current Collector’s Universe value is listed at $1,800. Most known have a flat strike and are lack luster. The presently offered example is on the other side of the spectrum, fully struck on the shield and with crisp detail on Liberty’s head, a bold luster rolls on both sides. The obverse shows a light overtone of clear gold, while the reverse is untoned. Very high-end surfaces look to be of a higher grade, it is only under close inspection that a couple of microscopic bag marks are seen. LOT 534 25C 1932-D PCGS MS65+ CAC Our sister company, Legend Numismatics are huge fans of this date in GEM. They have read us the riot act how rare they really are and how much better this coin is then 95% of what you will ever see called GEM MS65. Apparently, 1932-D’s do not come all that great. It’s been 30+ years of operations and PCGS has graded only 2 higher. To start, this coin is closer to MS66 than MS65. Sensational surfaces are flawless; even using a strong glass all you will see are light toning lines-not a single imperfection. The surfaces are super smooth. A surprising strong luster beams from all over. There is some light reddish brown toning spread more so around the peripheries than anywhere else. What looks like finger prints clearly are NOT-those are light toning lines. Washington and all the details are extremely well struck. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 84, NGC 33, CAC 19 (w/none beaned higher). PCGS has graded only 5 coins MS65+ (and 2 in MS66). We would put this coin next to any called MS65+ (and it would win)!
