EDITORIAL Education provides stability in life, and it’s something that no one can ever take away from you. By being well-educated and holding a college degree, you increase your chances for better career opportunities and open up new doors for yourself. Student orientation programmes play an important role in a student's transition to College life. Orientation programmes are aimed at familiarizing the students to an unknown campus environment, its faculties and infrastructure. It enables them to make essential connections with studies and develop networks among other peers . “Where will be my classroom? What will be my majors? What is the course structure?” Umpteen numbers of questions loom in the minds of students, when they start their college life. The interaction among the students and the college community strengthens student’s persistence in the college. A feeling of belongingness is inculcated in a student's mind during the orientation, which makes them feel a part of the college community. Student Orientation is a warm-up session for students before they are ready to hit the ground for their final performance, for a successful career. It sets a lasting impression for new students and their families. The main purpose of a good orientation session in a college is to bridge the gap between the professors and the students, ensuring a smooth communication between the two. Orientation marks a successful beginning of a college session as it assures the new students that they made a good decision in their college choice. It also helps students prepare for a successful career with a clear vision about what lies ahead and what can be achieved at the end of their courses. We organize fresher's party every year. The main aim of this party is to give a warm welcome to the newcomers. Such parties not only build their confidence but also add creativity to their levels. It is accompanied with so many colourful events and programs like ramp walk, traditional, fusion, and western dances, exhilarating singing performances, and splendid decoration, thus making it a soulful evening. Students enjoy a fun evening with their peers and reminisce about the good time spent with each other. The event creates many memories for the first year students and their seniors alike, with an array of cultural programs. College life is much more than just a degree - get ready for all the adventure !

25 Orientation day is an important and the first day of college of bridge course program of Micrbiology ID which was dated on 7th of September, 2021. this day was organized for the new students who have been enrolled and accepted to this educational program. That day, students started a new journey and build their future. this journey had efforts that approached to their goals to have a successful life ahead. This function is organized to educate the new students through specific activitieslike tours, info sessions, and currents student panels and all the information required to start the new college life. the program started by a welcome song which was sung by Ms. Dimple Dubey. The main session on Bridge Course started by Mr. Udhaybhan Yadav (Coordinator), Asst. Prof. Dr. Bharti Wadekar to continue with our University and introduction of ID course and scope of Microbiology. Asst. Prof. Mr. Kunal Thakur enlightened the specific course program and Mrs. Sonali Joshi introduced us to Departmentsl activities, Cultural activities, and other activities carried out in TSDC. Students further went over to explain Cocuricular activities such as NSS by Ms. Minakshi Mhatre (College NSS Leader) and DLLE by Ms. Nikkita Rao. Lastly the show ended with \"vote to thanks\" by our anchors Ms. Lata Choudhary and Mr. Aditya Dhobale.

o r i e n t a t i o n 26 BAMMC (bachelor of MASS MEDIA AND COMMUNICCATION) Orientation Sessions are truly influential in introducing students to their academic journey but at the same time helping them understand the main purpose of their course and how it will build their careers ahead. Thakur Shyamnarayan Degree College (TSDC) organized an Orientation Session for the First Year BAMMC students on 7 th October 2021 in the college auditorium. All the FY BAMMC students gathered to gain an insight on how their future journey to academics would be. The orientation session started with an Ish Stavan followed by a dance performance and a singing performance by SY BAMMC students. By teachers, for teachers.

Professor of BAMMC, updated students on the infrastructure of the institute and interacted with students on the change in their personal and professional life as they are set to start their degree college years. Later, Dr. Amruta Pawar Ma’am, Coordinator of the BAMMC Department emphasized on the Bachelors in Multimedia and Mass Communication courses, introduced the faculties, explained the outcomes of the courses and spoke about the examination and evaluation patterns. She also guided students on the career opportunities available in media with the series of activities conducted from June to September 2021. Welcome Freshers- 30 With the best Greetings, Prof. Roy welcomed First year students whole heartedly to join the Legacy of Thakur ShayamNarayan Degree College Students were shown the difference between school life and College Life. What are the changes going to take place during University Years. Prof.Roy also mentions how they will be groomed for the Hospitality Industry and How we management team at TIHM will help them during these years. She mention that Students are suppose to behave in their best, their Actions and Attitude now onward will be on behalf of TIHM. She highlighted the fact that each of the student is now part of TIHM.

Ashish Sir have well explained the Academic Course structure for all the 3 years to both the batches students of F.Y.B.Sc H.S, and F.Y.B.A.C.A All the semester and subjects patterns are openly discussed,Examination pattern and marks distribution was also explained. The regular time table were given explained & classrooms which was designated for their lectures were mention in the explanation. During the Academic year most important is Syllabus, what are students will be learning and what interesting topics will be in their lessons were also talked by Ashish Sir.

33 Extra curricular & Co curricular Activities on Campus-Prof.chetan motvani Apart from Academics,Co-curricular activities, like Literary Competitions, quiz's,Debates Extra Curricular Activities like sporty events, singing,dancing,planning Games, which are also important part of student's life were showcased by Prof. Chetan Motvani around Campus. Prof. Chetan also presented the facilities to students which are available in the college premises,like Cafeteria, Mess area, Library,E-library, Locker room and various Kitchen & Labs for practicals. Chef Chetan had also given glimpse of IGNITE, the student managed event from Last year & different cultural Activities which were held at TIHM.

QUESTION ANSWER SESSION 34 Question Answer sessions are summation of whole event which help the organizers to understand the level of information conveyed to the audience. Concluding to this Segment the round for the Q.A. were taken the queries related to the student's Attire, Foot wears and College timing were Answered by Ashish Sir and all senior Faculties.

conclusion & Acknowledgement 35 With the brief start of a process of knowing each other the Orientation program for F.Y.B.Sc.H.S & F.Y.B.A.C.A came to its Conclusion With the immense Hard work,Dedication and Heartening Welcome by Ashish Sir, Chetan Sir, with never ending efforts of Second year senior students and last but not the least Our presenter Nandani ma'am without whom this event could not be possible. We at TIHM take this as an Opportunity of Orientation program as a Stepping stone for the Journey of Education through College years for the Destination called Career.

36 Orientation Program of First Year Students of BSc.IT Starting college means opening a new chapter in life and this can cause much anxiety and curiosity in the heart of a new college student because of all the unknowns–\"What subjects will be in my major ? Will I be able to make any friends? How will I find all of my classes? Whom do I ask if I have a question?\" Orientation programs are designed to guide students in answering all of these questions, introduce them to college life, campus. The Orientation program was held on 6th October 2021 at 11 am in the auditorium hall. The program started by welcoming new students by the faculty and the senior students of BSC.IT. Ms. Aishwarya Sedamkar Co-ordinator of BSc.IT commenced the program with the welcome speech. Followed by introduction of college, Mumbai university, course structure followed by virtual tour .

37 In virtual tour of college administrative office, college website, smart classrooms, laboratories, library, E-library ,gymkhana , NSS room , NAAC room , Seminar hall , auditorium , Language lab, media club, yoga ground, canteen, cafeteria, first aid room, hostel accommodation, common areas, parking bay were introduced. The Evaluation and placements insights were given .A brief introduction about the various courses offered by the institution followed by the achievements of the college. A complete walkthrough of the BSc.IT course with its scheme, curriculum, academic conduct, term grant, examination, student development activities was given followed by introduction of faculties. The students were familiarize with general rules and guidelines to be followed in campus. Information about various carrier opportunities, conferences, clubs, research papers, webinars, workshops, add-on courses were given. A brief introduction of the Language lab was given by Ms. Anam Khan In-charge of the Language lab. The information about various clubs in the college were given by the student representatives of the clubs and participation of first year students in the clubs were encouraged. The Orientation program was concluded with the ending note from Ms. Aishwarya Sedamkar Co-ordinator of BSc.IT along with the National Anthem.

the orientATION 38 THAKUR SHYAMNARAYAN DEGREE COLLEGE F.Y.B.SC.CS 6 OCTOBER 2021 AUDITORIUM TRY TO BE RAINBOW IN SOMEONE'S CLOUD On 6th October 2021, Thakur Shyamnarayan Degree College had organized an orientation program of Computer Science students of F.Y.B.Sc C.S. The major objective of programme was to make students and parents aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the Institute and ensuring in monitoring the active perfomance and progress of students. The program was followed by the in debt information of the outcome that was explained by the faculty of BSC CS. The opportunities present to them the career choices and various other things were briefed and explained. By STUDENTS, for STUDENTS.

42 ORIENTATION BAF (Bachelor of Accounting and Finance) Orientation day is a fantastic time to get to know your new campus and meet new people! Before you arrive for your official first day of college, the college you will be attending wants you to become acquainted with campus life. This day allows you to meet new people, meet your classmates, connect with college professors, visit the campus, buy textbooks, and more! The students are invited to an Orientation Day on October 8th at Thakur shyamnarayan Degree College. This has been a regular event in almost every college.The most important thing is to be together and make the fresher & feel good about being a part of your college. Microbiology ID department was organized this program on dated 13 th Oct. 2021. As you all are aware that we have gathered here to welcome freshers to our prestigious college. The programme will be followed by a few short speeches of the faculty teacher/s post which there will be cultural programmes, including dance and songs, short skits & play, drama, etc. lunch at 3 PM and ultimately the party in the auditorium hall upto 4 PM. 46 Freshers Party Warm welcomes always make a special place in everyone’s hearts. As there is a feeling of excitement to start a new journey, it also introduces you to the people who are on the same journey as you. The BAMMC Department of Thakur Shyamnarayan Degree college (TSDC) organized a Welcome Function on 18 th October 2021 to greet and meet the First Year BAMMC students as they are about to give a new direction to their life by stepping in the new academic course. The Second Year and Third Year BAMMC students had worked extra hard to make this event memorable for the FY BAMMC students. The auditorium was decorated beautifully by all the students and all the preparations were done in time.

47 The function started by welcoming the Chief Guest ‘Mr. Rohit Ahire’ Sir and our beloved Principal Dr Sharad Phulari Sir in the auditorium. The event commenced by the Ganesh Vandana Song which was performed by SY students followed by a welcome dance performance after which the event proceeded with Dr. Sharad Phulari Sir welcoming the Honorable Chief Guest Mr. Rohit Ahire Sir. The event progressed further with felicitation of Cultural Organizing Committee who with their dedication and hard work make every event wonderful.Later, The respected Chief Guest. Mr. Rohit Ahire Sir was invited to say a few words and guide the new students as they are set to embark on this academic expedition.The students later announced The Introduction Round, Talent Round and Question and Answer Round to select Mr. and Ms. Freshers. They also planned some games in between to create a fun atmosphere. All the students actively participated in the games and also showcased their talents. Later, SY BAMMC students performed a song which created an aura of positivity and happiness around. Further, SY BAMMC and TY BAMMC students shared their experience in the institution and how it shaped their personality to face the industry.The FY students also witnessed the ever-stylish Ramp Walk done by SY and TY students. The Welcome Function ended with crowning Mr. and Ms. Freshers from SY BAMMC with a huge round of applause.

48 A Freshers Event in any college is an event which every student eagerly awaits for from their time of admission. The main aim of this party is to give a warm welcome to the new comers, Such events not only build their confidence but also adds creativity to their levels. Our Freshers Day was filled with excitement, joy, music, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The Dress code for the party was “Black&White” We the students of Thakur Institute of Hotel Management decided to have our “Black&White” theme as it gave us all retro vibes which added oomph to our event. The event started of with our Anchors Mr. Harshvardhan Patil and Ms. Jasmeet Kaur Kalsi welcoming our Principal Dr. Sharad Phulari, Chief Guest Mr. Kunal Buch and Patry Chef Ms. Bhavna Kirjat

49 The mere presence of our charming principal Dr. Sharad Phulari and the wisdom that he was willing to share with us added a spectacle to this already wonderful event. Our Chief Guest Mr. Kunal Buch is an amazing artist. He is very talented and a very energetic person. He is a superb choreographer, anchor and an event planner. And let’s not forget Ms. Bhavna Kirjat one of the most Experienced and passionate Pastry Chef with over 14 years of experience. Creating innovations of her business cakedessertchocolates and also Ex professor of D.Y.Patil college. It was quite insightful when our Chief guests spoke about their life experiences and the wisdom they shared with us was impeccable.

50 We as students thank our Chief guests from the bottom of our hearts for giving us their precious time and sharing their valuable knowledge with us We officially commenced our event with the blessings of Goddess Sarasvati by reciting the Sarasvati vandaana followed by an amazing traditional welcome dance performance by our second-year students Ayushi Verma and Mahek Mehta. To give you all a gist of our event it included many colourful programs like Ramp Walk, Games, Talent round, Quiz round, and interactions with our seniors. all the participants who took part in this year’s Mr&Ms freshers came up with their unique ramp walk in pairs. There were about 30 participants including 15 girls and 15 boys. They introduced themselves one by one in the allotted time which was 1 min per contestant. All of them were impressive in their own way.
