Digital Rendering of Living Room DIGITAL RENDERING
DIGITAL RENDERING 01 DIGITAL RENDERING Rendering is a method to showcase and illustrate your ideas in a faster way through either digitally, manually or both combined. Rendering comes in different forms, digital rendering means using photoshop to illustrate your idea. Some prefer manual methods, which can be achieed by markers, colour pencils and even water colouring depending on ones’ expertise. For this chapter, marker renderings and digital render- ings will be showcased.
DIGITAL RENDERING Although sometimes provided templates Living Room [with prepared template] can be tricky for creativity to flourish, it is amazing how one template can be interperated differently by different people. By using a combination of both texture maps and texture from brushes, it completes the look of a beautiful rendering. Kitchen with a terrace view
Rendering of fine dining restaurant With the help of texture maps and brushes in Photoshop, it helps complete the look of a digital render- ing. Shading also plays an important role in making a rendering realistic. In these renderings, one important factor is to add reflections, it helps us to differentiate the object’s material, from glossy to matte, fabric to wood. Digital rendering of bar cafe

Lines and dots can sometimes be incorperated togerther, to produce different effects of shadows. Dots produce a more soft material shadow. While lines may sometimes represent harsher or shadows on solid, textured surfaces. View of Bar Counter Attention to detail is key in creating a visually impactful sketch. Details from reflections on mirrors, cups, and even the small shadow shading created by smaller object, can really affect a drawing or sketch’s outcome visually. A Family Reataurant’s Dining Area
This bar has very intricate patterns on its bar counter, which is rather hard to replicate. Details like this at times require a certain amoutn of patience and concentrtion, alongside a handy 0.05mm drawing pen. Then is later layered with thicker line weights to enchance the drawing more. A Casual Cafe Bar Some tiles for example checkered marble tiles can be futher enhance by filling the black dark parts in. For the marble texture, white gel pen is used to indicate the patterns.

PERSPECTIVES Living Area To create that warm look the clients were looking for, a lot of wood textures are added in the space. In order for the space to be not too over- whelming, seatings like sofa and armchairs are in grey and white, to balance out the wood textures in the space. A black open shelv- ing is added to act as extra storage for the area. For the praying area, a modern twist is used for a clean yet very grand look to accompany the living room. A glass divider is added as separation of the area while allowing natural lighting for the area.
Bathroom With timber wood plank flooring, white walls and sheer curtains allowing some amount of natural lighting to enter the interior brings a bit of contrast to the space. Gold accents are added upon clients request in order to add hints of elegance for the interior. Foyer
RETAIL DESIGN 04 RETAIL DESIGN Swarovski, being the leading crystal company in the industry is known for having precision cuts of crystals. Even as a well known brand, they have a movement and a mission, to create affordable crystals so every woman can have their own crystals. Except for jewel- ries, they also produce chan- deliers, which will also be in- cluded in this retail store. This project is to create a 5000 sqft retail store fore Swarovski in Gurney Paragon Mall, Penang.
RETAIL DESIGN
CLIENT BRIEF SWAROVSKI Swarovski is an Austrian producer of lead glass (com- monly called crystal) headquartered in Wattens, Austria. The company is split into three major industry areas: the Swarovski Crystal Business, that primarily produces lead glass jewelry (commonly called crystal jewelry) and accessories; Swarovski Optik, which produces optical instruments such as telescopes, telescopic sights for rifles, and binoculars; Tyrolit, a manufacturer of grinding, sawing, drilling, and dressing tools, as well as a supplier of tools and machines. The Swarovski Crystal Business, which was founded in 1895, represents the largest area of business for the Swarovski group. Inspired by the idea of making crystal accessible to more people, Daniel Swarovski, a Bohemian jeweller, patents an electric cut- ting machine that cuts crystal more precisely than by hand. In 1895 he founds Swarovski in the small town of Wattens, high in the Austrian alps, because the energy potential offered by nearby rivers makes it the ideal destination for Swarovski's first production site. SWAROVSKI LIGHTING Swarovski combines their understanding of the power of crystal and light with a solid knowledge of the specific needs of the industry accumulated over decades of working on many high-end projects. Swarovski creates stunning custom designs, as well as develop pioneering application techniques and offer comprehensive support throughout the entire duration of a project. This covers planning and purchasing, project management and creation, and ensuring flawless implementation in the end. Unlike any other material, crystal has the power to bathe a room in dazzling starlight. Already a favorite with leading architects and interior designers, Swarovski’s lighting and interior solutions have become integral parts of luxurious building projects, not only offering a stunning range of elements to choose from, but also providing an endless source of creativity to design tailor-made solutions.
CONCEPT DIMENSIONS OF XIRIUS The main inspiration for the concept of this design is from the constellation “Canis Major”. The client has a product named XIRIUS, which is inspired by the planet Sirius as it is the brightest star in the universe. Not only is it the brightest star, it is also an important part of the constellation Canis Major. The keywords Vertex, Facet, and Converge are what we’ll be focusing on. Vertex described the stars of a constellation, being the point that people would connect to find the constellation. Facet will change when the vertex changes. Sirius being the heart of Canis Major, it allows all points to connect and hence becomes the converging point of Canis Major. MOODBOARD With a futuristic design, we try to create an interior that would shine however not overshining the crystals. With the con- cept from canis major, it is suitable to say the style would be of a futuristic style. With monochromatic colours, featuring large display sculptures would actually minimalise the space, making it clean but intricate. The top floor would be darker, to showcase the shine of the chandelier products. It’s safe to say, this will be a clean yet intricate design, and it would also shine like a crystal.

RESTAURANT DESIGN
RESTAURANT DESIGN 05 RESTAURANT DESIGN This Emmy award winning television personality, chef and restauranteur from Food Network, studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, with aspirations of becoming a pastry chef at early stages of her studies. After returning to the United States, she decided to become a professional chef working in several Los Angeles restaurants, notably the Wolfgang Puck-owned Spago. She later worked as a food stylist and was contacted by the Food Network after styling a piece in Food & Wine magazine in 2002. This project is to create a 10,000 sqft restaurent for Giada de Laurentiis at Penang Yacth Club, Penang.
CLIENT BRIEF GIADA DE LAURENTIIS This Emmy award winning television personality, chef and restauranteur from Food Network, studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, with aspirations of becoming a pastry chef at early stages of her studies. After returning to the United States, she decided to become a professional chef working in several Los Angeles restaurants, notably the Wolfgang Puck-owned Spago. She later worked as a food stylist and was contacted by the Food Network after styling a piece in Food & Wine magazine in 2002. After returning to the United States, she decided to become a professional chef working in several Los Angeles restaurants, notably the Wolfgang Puck-owned Spago. She later worked as a food stylist and was contacted by the Food Network after styling a piece in Food & Wine magazine in 2002. THE GIADA RESTAURANT This restaurant was opened in the Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas during the year 2014. The restaurant has a completely new build-out, revealing a design with warm and cozy with a feminine touch. Los Angeles-based Studio Collective, whose portfolio includes several well-known hospitality venues including Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills and Hyde Lounge at The Staples Center, leaded the overall design. The restaurant space extends over the pedestrian walkway below, featuring large glass windows with daytime and night time views of the Strip. Living room-style furniture will provide a space for guests to relax, and private dining room space will also be available for larger parties or group functions. Giada De Laurentiis, is the founder of this restaurant. This Emmy award winning television personality from Food Network, invented a menu, embracing her birthplace of Rome, mirroring her passion for Italian cook- ing with lighter, Californian influences. Guests can enjoy her signature dishes made famous through her many cookbooks and “Food Network” television shows, along with uniquely crafted family recipes that focus on quali- ty ingredients and great flavors.
CONCEPT A TRANSMORGRIFIED FLIGHT The concept for this project is called “A Transmorgrified Flight” mainly inspired from a fellow feline, the barn swallow, as it is Giada de Laurentiis’ favourite animal during her childhood. The 3 keywords, “Symmetrical”, “Retractable”, and “Arched”, are applied in this project. The barn swallow, having an interesting looking tail, in certain times of flight when they’re speeding up, its tail will expand, creating an arch shape. Retractable is describing the tail of the swallow, retracting when time calls for it, transforming the tail into a different form. As for symmetrical, no matter how you look at a swallow, it has symmetry. MOODBOARD To enhance the femininity of Giada, the restaurant features a pink theme wih a lot of italian terrazzo. Futhur enhancing the Contemporary Italian vibes to the restaurant, simple wood planks will be the material used to the ceiling’s design. Giada is a very family oriented person, and wants her restaurant to not only showcase her taste, but must also be inviting to families. Therefore this restau- rant is going to feature a warm and cozy family friendly vibes, along with a strong sense of femininity for our strong lady, Giada.

HYBRID ECLIPSE HYBRID ECLIPSE TABLE LAMP The solar eclipse as we know has a bunch of different formations. You'll see and experience different kinds of solar eclipse considering where you're at during this extrodinary phenomena. The Hybrid solar eclipse as we know is the so called \"Diamond ring effect\" of the solar eclipse. Therefore, it is conveyed through the design of this table lamp. The materials used are embriodary hoops, some cloth, metal rods and also concrete. The concrete as the base of the table lamp creates a sturdy and stable base for the lamp, and bonus, it add a look of the moon since its patterns reminds people of the moon's texture. For the cloth, The ring part of the light is using a more transparent and white cloth to enable light to shine through, yet controling the amount of light going through. DIMENSIONS Real Life recreation of table lamp Front View Side View Back View Top View 3D Rendering of table lamp
ANNULAR ECLIPSE FLOOR LAMP The solar eclipse as we know has a bunch of different ANNULAR ECLIPSE formations. You'll see and experience different kinds of solar eclipse considering where you're at during this extrodinary phenomena. The Annular solar eclipse happens when the moon doesn't totally covers the sun's disk. Therefore, it'll form a shine not as blinding or shining out like a ring like a total eclipse. It'll form a rather settle and less blinding light. The materials used are the same as the table lamp, embriodary hoops, some cloth, metal rods and also concrete. The concrete as the base of the lamp creates a sturdy and stable base for the lamp, and to add an effect of texture of the moon since its patterns reminds people of the moon's texture. The front hoop, or the moon, is using a more full coverage cloth, the block the light coming from the back. And of course the hoop at the back has a more transparent and white coloured cloth. This is to spread out the lights more evenly from the inside of the hoop. The height of the moon is adjustable, so users has the option to control the brightness they want, it'll also create an effect that the moon is slowly covering the sun's disk. DIMENSIONS Front View Side View Back View Top View 3D Rendering of floor lamp
TOTAL ECLIPSE TOTAL ECLIPSE WALL LIGHT The solar eclipse as we know has a bunch of different formations. You'll see and experience different kinds of solar eclipse considering where you're at during this extrodinary phenomena. The total solar eclipse is the most commonly refered solar eclipse when we talk about solar eclipse. It's when the moon totally covers the sun's disk and reveals a bright ring around the moon's circumference. The materials used are embriodary hoops, some cloth, and a clock machinary. This one is very simple, with the moon spinning around with the clock machinary around it as if it's slowly turning and circulating and finally falls into position, infront of the \"sun\". The LED light strips are located around the main hoop and also in the main hoop. therefore when the moon reaches the center of the sun, it creates this very interesting eclipse effect. DIMENSIONS Front View Side View Back View Top View 3D Rendering of wall light
PARTIAL ECLIPSE PARTIAL ECLIPSE NIGHT LIGHT The solar eclipse as we know has a bunch of different formations. You'll see and experience different kinds of solar eclipse considering where you're at during this extrodinary phenomena. The partial Eclipse is technically the process to form a total eclipse or annular eclipse. Or it is also a phenomena where the moon doesn't cover the sun equally, which usually creates a cresent shaped light and not like a total eclipse [ring light] The materials used are the same as well, embriodary hoops, some cloth, metal rods and concrete. The concrete and to add an effect of texture of the moon since its patterns reminds people of the moon's texture. The front hoop, or the moon, is using a more full coverage cloth, the block the light coming from the back. And of course the hoop at the back has a more transparent and white coloured cloth. 3D RENDERINGS
3D RENDERINGS 07 3D RENDERINGS 3D rendering is the 3D computer graphics process of converting 3D models into 2D images on a computer. 3D renders may include photorealistic effects or non-photorealistic styles. It is a more modern way to convey our ideas and give clients a better visual of what they can be expecting for the outcome of the design. With good rendering skill, gives a better and more realistic visual to convince a client on the design. This chapter includes 3Ds Max Vray & Corona rendering that I created as practice.
