VANISHING COASTS
VANISHING COASTS PRESERVE OR DESTROY Every action you take leads to one Wetlands are integral to the natural processes of our environment. They sequester carbon, prevent erosion, offer habitat for endangered species, and filter water. We need coastal wetlands, and right now, they need us.

REMEMBER MY NAME
REMEMBER MY NAME LEARNING NAMES INCREASE EMPATHY AND DEVELOPS FAMILIARITY. LEARN A NAME OF A PLANT AN ANIMAL A MINERAL RECOGNIZE IT. CONNECT WITH IT. LOVE IT. “Average eight year olds were better able to identify characters from… Pokémon than native species in the community where they lived: Pickachu, Metapod, and Wigglytuff were names more familiar to them than otter, beetle, and oak tree. “ RICHARD LOUV LAST CHILD IN THE WOODS

UCSD ENVIRONMENT
UCSD ENVIRONMENT Going to school with the beach only a ten minute walk down the road and the city only thirty minutes on transit allows me to recognize the interrelatedness of my studies with both the natural environment and our societal one. For example, Conotoxins are being studied and examined right here in our oceans, on our coast. Their benefits as painkillers are being used just miles away at San Diego's most prominent hospitals.
UCSD ENVIRONMENT THE OCEAN IS OUR SCHOOL'S IDENTITY WHAT ARE WE WITHOUT IT?
