The Fruits of Labour “No human masterpiece has been created without great labour.” – Andre Gide It is our constant endeavour to keep our students grounded and connected to simple yet significant values like respect and dignity for all. On the occasion of International Labour Day, it was a delight to watch the kindergarten students taking pride in acknowledging and recognizing the work of our support staff and the various hands that help them. The handmade cards prepared by the students were shared with the helping hands of BIS. The air of benevolence could be felt all around. The fruits of labour were given to the rightful owners.
Kindergarteners Display of Talent “Talent is multiplier. The more energy and attention you invest in it, the greater the yield. The time you spend with your best is, quite simply, your most productive time.” -Marcus Buckingham Kindergartners exhibited their talent and mesmerised the audience with their performances. There were dancers, singers, speakers and actors. It was a visual treat for everyone. The school management applauded the budding performers and encouraged everyone to participate and gain confidence.

Motherhood A mother is to be your side till the end. A mother whose arms are so strong yet so tender. It is so difficult to describe a mother. Yet so easy to understand her. Motherhood teaches us how to love without ever asking for anything in return. Motherhood is a feeling beyond just a relationship. Mother’s Day is a day marked to celebrate and honour the mother of the family, maternal bonds, and motherhood-the harbinger of happiness and joy. This special day was celebrated with a lot of vibrance and gaiety as kindergarten students not only recited acrostic poems showing their love towards their mothers but also, made beautiful cards for their dear moms. Students were also engaged in the craft-making activity and the tiny hands made decorative crafts to gift their mothers. It was indeed a joyful day for mothers and their tiny tots. The importance of celebrating Mother’s Day was well engrained in the minds of the little ones.
Connecting the World “An efficient telecommunications network is the foundation upon which information society is built. “ -Talal Abu Ghazaleh World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) is celebrated annually to help raise awareness of the possibilities that the use of the Internet and other information and communication technologies (ICT) can bring to societies and economies. It is a way to bridge the digital divide. Little cherubs celebrated World Telecommunication Day by learning about the different ways of communicating with the world. They also learned about the evolution of the modes of communication from string phones to smartphones. Students were excited to gather new knowledge and were equally interactive during the sessions
The Logical Eye “Equipped with five senses, human explores the universe around him and calls the adventure- Science.” -Edwin Powell Hubble To charge our young learners’ minds, we boosted their minds with fun experiences through visual aids, that is, brain teaser activities. Brain teasers help in developing cognitive skills, problem-solving abilities, create mental stimulation and make them quick thinkers. Playing memory games helps them stimulate their retention power. Young learners matched the locks with their respective keys, which helped them improve their critical thinking skills.
The Curious Nose “Of the five senses, the smell is the one with the best memory.” -Rebecca McClanahan Learning about the five senses offers a lot of great opportunities for hands-on exploration. The ‘Sense of Smell’ game is a fun way to learn about how smell works, and it’s fun to see how well your nose can guess the right smell. Kindergartners blindfolded themselves and smelled various kinds of smells from different objects like perfume, talcum powder, flowers, and spices. Excited students continued playing with exhilaration while guessing the right smell.
The Taste of Joy In an effective teaching-learning process, students should not only know what they are doing, but they should also know why and how. In order to have a conceptual understanding of the theme of the month, - Sense Organs, kindergarteners performed tasting activities to explore their taste buds. The activities revolved around different flavours such as sweet, sour, bitter, and salty which were done through various edible items.
Touch Learn to see, learn to hear, learn to feel, learn to smell, and know that by practice you can become an expert. The tactile sense is one of the most receptive sense organs. Kindergartners explored their sense of touch by feeling various objects. Students identified different textures detected by the touch, including soft, hard, smooth, rough, hot, cold, wet, and dry textures.
The Five Senses “Sight, taste, touch, smell, and sound are the vital senses that we use to take in the world around us.” The proper development of the five senses plays a very essential role in physical and mental development. Students understood various functions and the importance of sense organs. Kindergartners made their special ‘Sense Organs Pinwheel’ and drew all the sense organs on them. Performing this activity benefitted them to know more about the senses.
The Sunset Shade Orange is the colour of autumn. It is jovial, cheerful, and playful. Orange is fun, flamboyant, dynamic, and radiates warmth. Kindergarteners celebrated Orange Day with the sole objective to acquaint themselves with the concept of the secondary colour and objects related to it. Tiny tots in orange radiated warmth and happiness. A plethora of craft activities were done to imprint colour recognition in the minds of young ones. The purpose of this activity was fulfilled when each and every child emitted enthusiasm, vigour, and zest, just like the sun does during sunset.
Lavender Whether it is a mouth-watering bunch of grapes or a beautiful orchid, Purple is always an eye captivating colour for kids. Purple’s rarity in nature and the expense of creating the colour has given purple a mysterious aura for centuries. Purple Day was celebrated by kindergartners. Donned in their stunning purple attire, they all looked radiant and emitted the energy of the colour. Colour recognition was done by preparing purple arts and crafts and they enjoyed singing rhymes based on the concept of purple.
The Brown Dirt Brown as a tree trunk, Brown as a bear. Brown as a peanut Brown as a chair. Brown is a composite colour of Red, Black, and Blue. It signifies the beauty and the importance of our Earth, the Motherland. Keeping in view the importance of colour, Brown Day was celebrated by kindergartners. To start with, our children came dressed up in different hues and tints of brown. Ecstatic students performed various craft activities in order to learn the concept of colour recognition. While performing activities, the gleam in their eyes was a sight to see.
