Chapter three The Prisoner of Zenda In points 1. Rassendyll expects Antoinette to cry telling all people that he is not the king but she doesn’t. 2. The Marshal gives an order to his men to go through the old town where the poor live. 3. This is dangerous to the king’s life but Marshal is testing the king. 4. Rassendyll thinks and decides quickly to go into the old town alone to tell the poor that he trusts them. 5. Sapt and Fritz get worried. The poor have different reactions. some cheer but others are angry. 6. Rassendyll gets out of the old town and goes towards the palace. 7. He remembers no one but the Duke and Flavia. 8. Chapter five The Prisoner of Zenda In points 1. Rassendyll was happy to say goodbye to Michael and his men but sad to say goodbye to Flavia as he wants to tell her the truth. 2. Flavia asks Rassendyll to take care of himself and this reminds him of Rose’s words that one’s position in society brings responsibility. 3. Rassendyll does well as a king as he looks like the king and pretends to be him easily. He also has learnt how to run a country and cover up mistakes with his growing popularity. 4. Sapt tells Rassendyll that the real king is at the Castle of Zenda as half of Michael’s men are there. The drawbridge is kept up all the time. No one gets in or out without Michael’s or Rupert’s permission. 5. Rassendyll is followed by six men to protect him but he protests to this. 6. Rassendyll receives a letter from Antoinette Du Mauban to meet her at the summer house to get important information about the king’s life. 7. Sapt considers this is a trap by Michael but Rassendyll insists to go. 8. He met Antoinette at the summer house. She tells him all about the Duke’s evil plans. 9. The Duke’s men arrive and try to deceive him by offering L.E. 50000 and a safe trip to the bor- ders but Rassendyll defeats them with an iron table and escaped leaving Detchard injured. 10. The Chief of police reports that Michael left the capital for Zenda. His men followed him an hour later. People are angry as the king doesn’t marry Flavia. 11. Fritz prepares a ball. Rassendyll wants to tell Flavia the truth instead of asking her for marriage. 12. Sapt stops him from doing this so it has become impossible to tell people the truth. 13. As no one can’t discover Rassendyll, he can kill the real king, Michael and even Sapt and Fritz and remain king forever. 14. But he is a man of principles and tries hard to rescue the king. 15. Rassendyll meets Flavia again and sees a letter from Antoinette warning her from the Duke, another letter from Michael inviting her to the castle but she will decline the invitation. 16.
