Director’s Message Welcome to the 2021 Program Guide. Courses listed in this guide are offered in Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Congratulations for continuing your lifelong learning journey. When we invest in ourselves for career advancement, career change or for self care, we not only enhance ourselves, we also enhance the lives of those in our community. We are here to help you succeed by offering programs that are in demand, hiring excellent instructors and scheduling our courses at times that suit your busy life. New to the program guide is a QR code beside each certificate program name. Hold your mobile device up to the QR code and it will take you to that specific page on our website, where you will find the details to help you build your course schedule. You may also type in the URL underneath the program title to look up the course details as well. In this guide you will also find stories and photos of students who recently completed their certificate programs. Unfortunately, we were not able to host our annual photo shoot due to the physical distancing requirements of COVID-19. Instead we asked our 2020 certificate graduates to send in photos they had taken of themselves. What a delight to see some really great photography! Thank you to everyone who participated. However, as programs are subject to change, we highly recommend you apply for admission as early as possible. Once you are admitted, you can be confident that you have locked in the requirements leading to your graduation. To enrol in a certificate or diploma program now, go to conted.ucalgary.ca/apply. When you enrol, you will be charged a non-refundable fee of $105. Transferability. On completion of one certificate or diploma program, you may choose to pursue another. In some cases, it is possible to transfer a limited number of hours between programs. The number of hours varies by program and depends on the courses taken.
