SSRVM Magazine Bengaluru East January 2022 Wall of Gratitude GRATITUDE Will we ever be satisfied with what we have? Why do we always want more? Why is it never enough? Gratefulness isn't just another thing we learn at school. It can change our perspective of life and the way we look at situations. It has the power of turning a morsel of food into a feast, a shabby hut into a home and what little we have into riches. Gratitude means to express appreciation for what you have. We get everything we want, don't we? But have we ever thought of it? Look around you, what do you see? I see a homeless girl walking around the streets in tattered clothes. l have shelter and clothing, and I'm grateful for it. I see a diseased old man abandoned by his family. Don 't we all hate it when our parents don't let us do as we please? But they care for you. We could have ended up worse like the old man who was abandoned. 20% of the world 's population are disabled. 30% are stricken with poverty, and more than 80% have health problems. We should be grateful that we're left out in this number. No matter how much money you have earned or the luxuries you live in, if you aren't satisfied and grateful for what you have, you will never be contented in life. To be grateful, you focus on the positive aspects of every situation. Every circumstance in life has at least one positive part in it to be grateful for. For example, in situations of poverty, one can be grateful for a loving family, and when you find that one good thing, your happiness will continue to blossom. Moreover, being grateful boosts your mood as you think of all things and people who helped you throughout your life-It can be family, your best friend, teachers, or even your pet lizard. :) S Dakshitha Grade- 7C SSRVM, Bengaluru East 21
