DG M. Ramarao was the Chief Guest & Installation Officer and PDG R.K. Jain was the Guest of Honour. Outgoing President Rtn. Maturu Murali Krishna expressed his gratitude to all the members for the support extended to him and his team through out the year. Rtn. D. Narayana Murthy as President for 2021-22 and Rtn. K. Ravi as Secretary were installed. Board members were installed. Newly installed President shared his Rotary jouney and informed of the plan of action for the year. DG M. Ramarao inpired the club members with his excellent speech and District goals. - 2 New members were inducted to Rotary fold. - Telephone cards of the members were released by the DG Rama Rao. - Rota monthly bulletin of the club was released by PDG R.K. Jain. - Birthdays & Wedding Anniversaries of the members falling in the 2 weeks were celebrated and gifts were given to all. - R.I. Impor- tance of SMS - Sanitization, Maks and Social distance was covered in telugu language. Event : WORLD BREAST FEEDING WEEK Date : 6-8-2021 An Awareness camp on ‘Breast Feeding’ to the inpatient mothers of Venkata Padma Hospital. Rtn. Dr. M. Venkateswara Rao spoke on the importance of mother milk to the new born babies. Our President with other Rotarians participated and distributed fruits to the mothers. Event : ROTARY HARITAVANAM - Plantation Date : 15-8-2021 At the call of our Dist. Governor to plant 75 sapplings, our Club organised plantation at the PG College gate at Phool Bagh Road. It was for the first time that our Club initiated the tradition of hoisting the National flag by the Club President. This will be done at some school adopted by our Club. Rotarians & Interactors participated. Event : FLAG OFF THE VAN TO COLLECT E-WASTE Date : 15-8-2021 Our beloved Dist. Governor Rtn. M. Ramarao flagged off the van to collect the e-waste from our members. He enlightened the members about the importance of disposing the e-waste prop- erly. About 2000 kgs. of e-waste was collected from members. Event : ROTARY HARITAVANAM - Plantation Date : 15-8-2021 Our Club organised plantation of 25 sapplings at Tirumala Hospital area, PSR Complex. RAJESH, Corporator, 14th Division A Tree plantation programme was organised at the park area near our Rotary Swargadhamam. Chief guest of the day Sri S.V.V. Rajesh expressed his happiness over the projects of our Rotary and requested to adopt this park for the development of greenery. He also suggested to plant sapplings at the road side and informed that he will support on behalf of the Muncipal corpora- tion for plants or machine for taking pits. He was felicitated on the occasion. Date : 7-9-2021 Event : HELPING HAND TO MENTALLY RETARDED CHILDREN BY ADOPTION Adoption of 20 mentally retarded Children of Vikas School for Mentally Retarded managed by Society for Education of the Deaf and Blind. A cheque for Rs. 1,20,000/- was presented to the Correspondent Sri Y. Vishnu on Tuesday, 7th September 2021 at 11 am in the presence of their school team and their management along with our members. 20 Children were benefitted. This is the District Simlified Project no. 2121840 which was of the year 2020-21. ON behalf of our Rotary Club Vizianagaram we thank DG Rtn. Satish Babu and PDG Rtn. M. Date : 29-9-2021 Event : DEFEAT DIABETES - ONE MILLION - ONE NATION - 1 DAY FREE BLOOD SUGAR TEST Our Club has registered for the above suggested programme by Rotary India and two centres were planned - Rtn. Dr. K. Tirumala Prasad’s TIRUMALA HOSPITALS and Rtn. Dr. M. Rajasekhar’s ALPHA DIAGNOSTICS. About 230 tests were carried out. Vinod Kumar INAUGURATION OF YOUTH ACTIVITIES MONTH Date : 11-9-2021 The Inauguration of the Youth Activities Month was carried out on 11th September. As-usual our Club planned for 8 events for the school children. Director Rtn. G. Vinod Kumar presented his team for the month. Rtn. T.V.N. Raju and Rtn. B. Naga Prakash as the Chairman and Co-chair- man of the Youth Activities Month respectively. The Chief Guest of the day Sri S. Venkateswara Rao, Chief Coach, District Sports Authority, Vizianagaram addressed the Rotarians, guests and the children and motivated them to make sports a carreer. He referred of the recent held Olym- pics and the Para Olympics and the medals won by the Indian players. He appreciated our Club for the support extended to the children through these events. Late Dr. D.V. Sampath Kumar, an eminent classical dancer, who introduced Kuchipudi at Vizianagaram in early 1980s and started Geeta Nrutya Kalasala and trained 1000s of dancers. Our member Rtn. Dr. Radhika Rani also was a student of that institute. She was awarded with Vocational Excellency Award and in response she expressed her happiness to receive honour from a presigeous Rotary Club. Her son Mr. D. Suraj Sampath Kumar bagged a silver medal at National Swimming competition under parasports. He was also recognised with an Outstanding Vocational Achievement award. OF POLICE on behalf of “Forum for Better Vizianagaram”. Date : 8-10-2021 “Forum for Better Viziangaram” an NGO started at Vizianagaram by like minded service organisations in which our Rotary Club, Viziangaram too was a member. Smt. Deepika M. Patil was appointed as Supdt. of Police, Vizianagaram. The Forum arranged a friendly meet with her and on behalf of our Club, President, Secretary, Rtn. Dr. M. Venkateswara Rao and other mem- bers actively participated. She was very happy to know of our projects and assured to visit our projects and also accepted to attend a suitable event as a guest. Collector has given date of 14-10-2021 to conduct Quit Spit programme by our Rotary Club and the programme was finalised to organise an awareness camp at RTC Complex and Rly. station on that day. Under the leadership of Rtn. V. Subbaraju, visited the RO plants setup by our Club and enlight- ened the board of their working and suggested the measures to takeup to continue smoothly. A new club was proposed at Vizianagaram by our club at the suggestion of PDG Rtn. R.K. Jain and he suggested Rtn. Our District Collector has given a date of 14th October 2021 to our Club to conduct QUIT SPIT awareness programme. Accordingly our Club have takenup the same at RTC Complex. Rtn. Manda Ravi Kishore co-ordinated the event. Playcards, posters, stickers were displayed while pamphlets were distributed. Press and media has given a wide coverage of this. The Depot Manager and their staff supported our Club in propagating the Quit spit in the complex and other areas. Similarly, the Railway Manager and their team supported our Club team in creating awareness in the Railway station to the passengers and the Railway staff. Stickers, pamphlets were given to them. Hoardings were placed. Seeing the media coverage, the ministry of Rail- ways appreciated our Club and requsted to conduct many more such programmes. Dist. 3020. Our Club and RC Vizianagaram Central co-ordinated for the same. Dist. Polio Fund Raising Chair Rtn. M. Anil Kumar lead the show. The idea of the event was to create awareness to public of the polio to end and the efforts which our Rotary is put from past 35 years in eradicating the dreadful disease of polio from the world. Sri Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy, Hon’ble MLA, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the carnival arranged at Fort Junction. He addressed the public in an impressive manner. Press & Media gave a wide coverage. Dist. Governor Rtn. M. Ramarao was present as Guest of Honour and ex- pressed his happiness of the event and claimed that never such a programme has taken place on Polio awarenss. He congratulated the Dist. Anil Kumar November being the Rotary Foundation month, the Club inaugurated the RF month and Rtn. M. Sudhakar, GSE Team Leader (2000-01) and Rtn. Maturu Murali Krishna, Asst. Governor were the speakers & guests. They enlightened the members about the formation of Rotary Foundation and its activities. All the members especially the new mebers were very much impressed when they could know that with 26.5 US dollars the Foundation was started. Rtn. M. Sudhakar shared of his experience as GSE Team leader when he visited USA. He an- nounced 25 US dollars to RF. AG Rtn. Maturu Murali Krishna gave presented the statistics of the RF and requested all members to contribute a minimum amount to RF every year. He announced 10 USD. Rtn. M. Anil Kumar, Dist. Chair - PolioPlus was unavoidably absent. Total 15 PHFs were confirmed during this year. Meeting with Mrs. Deepika M. Patil, Supdt. of Police on Traffic Regulation Date : 3-11-2021 Our Club was invited to participate in the meeting organised on Traffic Regulation at Vizianagaram by the Supdt. of Police. Date : 6-11-2021 PDG Dr. Basava Varahalu visited our Blood Bank on 6th November 2021. He appreciated the services rendered by the Blood bank and also expressed his happiness over the equipment and the technology the Blood bank is adopting. DISTRICT ROTARY FOUNDATION SEMINAR & AWARDS NIGHT 2021-21 Date : 7-11-2021 The journey started by catching a train from Visakhapatnam by 13 Rtns. and probably the first event after Feb. 2020 with such a number to travel and participate in any district event. Our Club was recognised under Bronze category for the 15 PHFs our club have made. Regarding the awards, our Club bagged the Outstanding President Award (Large Club), Highest Polio contribution award, Highest TRF contribution award, Outstanding Large Club, Recognitions to Rtn. Praveen Anchalia as AG, Rtn. M. Anil Kumar for TRF Endowment, Appreciation certificates to Rtn. B.V.
