Today, I will show you how to up and run probably the most important component of aProfessional Audio Home Studio: The Studio software

We are going to install one of the best Audio Studios in the Linux World: KXStudioKXStudio has many Features

KXStudio can be installed as OS from a KXstudio ISO, installed on a running Linux distribution, oradapted to a Professional Audio Studio hardware

KXstudio installation contains all the software required in a Professional Audio Studio

KXstudio is useful for many types of users, mainly:Audio engineersMusic Composers

VJs, DJs, and Scratchers

Musicians in general

Live Performers

Video and Audio Producers, include YouTubers, Vlogers and Podcasters

Videogame sound FX composers

KXStudio users require technical knowledge in audio, but today, I will just show you how to installit and configure it through an example with synthesizers and keyboards, to make it easy tounderstand

We are going to use Debian GNU/Linux as operating system. I already wrote 3 books about howto use Debian. You can visit some sites if you are interested on the English books and in DebianLinux

To install KXStudio, we will find the following documentation on the INTERNET

After the installation of KXStudio, reboot the machine, and then set up ALSA in Audio Mixers. Werequire to install and use Pavucontrol and ALSAMIXER

Test audio and codecsPlay any MP3 Song

Install and Set up Qsynth, VMPK and USB Piano

Install qjackctl

Install qjackctl (The Jack GUI)

Install VMPK

Install VMPK (Stands for Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard)

Set up Qsynth

1. Open Qsynth (The Fluid synth GUI)

2. Set the MIDI Driver to alsa_seq

3. Set MIDI Client Name ID to Qsynth1

4. Set Audio Driver to jack

5. Set Sample rate to 480006. Set JACK Client Name ID to Qsynth1

7. Select the Soundfont stack

8. Restart the engine and quit Qsynth

Set up Jack Daemon

1. Stop JACK if it is running from QjackCtl

2. Select the proper hardware device

3. Select 48000 in Sample Rate and the Frames per Period (FFP, not FPS)

4. Advanced settings tab configuration

5. Options Tab

6. Activate Draw lines as Bezier curves

7. Uncheck Start JACK audio server on app startup

8. Restart JACK server
