Body Positivity– Facebook Live \"You can still love yourself and be a work in progress\". Due to social media and the criticism of society, insecurity and self-hatred has become prevalent, especially in today's teens. It is hard for one to look at themselves in the mirror and try to not point out their imperfections and flaws. I had the privilege to be a part of the 'The Body Positivity- Facebook Live' event on Sparks - Ignite your minds Facebook Page. The guest for this talk was Ms.Rachana Nagranee is a stylist and a Vitiligo survivor. She is the founder of “Joy of Dressing Up”. Ms. Rachana talked about the importance of having a Positive Body Image. The body positivity live show has helped me and many other students to be more comfortable in their own skin. Ms. Rachana changed my point of view of my own body. Her strong delivery of her message on uniqueness of each person supported me to be more confident and aware. As a vitiligo survivor, Ms. Rachana helped us understand the fact that it's okay to have unique characteristics. Her idea of viewing oneself as 'unique' instead of 'different' motivated me a lot. We even had a 10-minute meditation exercise which was very relaxing. In the end, we got the opportunity to ask a few questions on this topic. Ms. Rachana's speech moved me and I am glad I got this amazing chance to learn a lot about self-love. - Avani Bhat, Grade 9 https://www.facebook.com/102287652 135324/videos/4226470667414037/ Student Editorial Team

A Glimpse of ‘La Bastille’ day La Bastille is a fort in Paris also known as Saint-Antoine. It played an important role in the internal conflicts of France and was used as a state prison by the kings of France. It was attacked by revolutionaries on July 14, 1789. This day became a major event in the history of France. It was then demolished and replaced by the Place de la Bastille. Today, the Bastille does not exist, but its small pieces are scattered all over Paris. On July 14, 1789, the citizens attacked the Bastille and rescued the prisoners. Bastille Day, in France and its overseas departments and territories, is celebrated marking the anniversary of the fall of the Bastille in Paris. The storming of the Bastille marks the start of the French Revolution and thus became the symbol of the end of the ‘Ancien Régime’. Instead of saying \"Happy Fourteenth July\", the people say, “Bonne Fête Nationale”, which translates roughly as \"have a good national holiday\" in English.
