["- Heeding the Divine Speech (the Qur'an), discerning and then obeying the commands of the Divine Power and Will as they relate to the universe (the laws of creation and life). - Overflowing with Divine Love and getting along with all other beings in the realization (originating from Divine Love) that the universe is a cradle of brotherhood. - Giving preference or precedence to the well-being and happiness of others. - Acting in accord with the demands of the Divine Will not with the demands of our own will and living in a manner that reflects our self-annihilation in God and subsistence with Him. - Being open to love, spiritual yearning, delight, and ecstasy. - Being able to discern what is in hearts or minds through facial expressions and the inner, Divine mysteries and meanings of surface events. - Visiting spiritual places and associating with people who encourage the avoidance of sin and striving in the way of God. - Being content with permitted pleasures, and not taking even a single step toward that which is not permitted. - Struggling continuously against worldly ambitions and illusions, which lead us to believe that this world is eternal. - Never forgetting that salvation is possible only through certainty or conviction of the truth of religious beliefs and conduct, sincerity or purity of intention, and the sole desire to please God. Two other elements may be added: acquiring knowledge and understanding of the religious and gnostic sciences, and following a perfected, spiritual master's guidance. Both of these are of considerable significance in the Naqshbandiyah Sufi order. The first and foremost is wakefulness (yaqaza), which is alluded to in the Prophetic saying (hadith): My eyes sleep but my heart does not, and in the saying of 'Ali, the fourth Caliph: Men are asleep. They wake up when they die. Sufis belong to a liberal tribe of Islam. Rumi, the great Iranian Sufi poet says: “The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you. Don't go back to sleep” There is so much life to live—Rumi urges you to not let it pass you by. Do not be bound by certain rules or expectations and let your soul 51","guide you to true joy and love. In the same way, Indian Sufi poet Bulle Shah, in a ‘kaafi’ ‘Ishaq Di Navion Navi Bahar, exhorts the initiates to enjoy the union with the Lord and forget all about the talk of rules and regulations: Fook Musala Bhan sut lota Na fad tasbi kasa sota, Ashik kehnda de de hoka Tarak halaon, khah murdar, Ishaq the navion navin bahar. Thus, Sufism represents the liberal philosophy of Islam, relating to the union of the soul with the oversoul and how it comes into ‘vajad’ [extreme joy]. Sufis while singing the praises of God forget themselves. It is a highly spiritualized state. Islam as a religion lays down several rules and regulations called Shariat which help the initiates to understand the Shariat law first, and observe its rules, then to enter Tariqat which means throwing off the worldly attachments. The third stage is Maarfat, the Murshid who guides you to the ultimate stage of Haquiqat [Revelation, Truth]. This is a very tough journey. It was the Sufis who added romance to this dreary journey, by dancing for the Murshid [the Guru], and realizing union with the Lord. RUMI: The Great Persian/Arabic Poet Jalaleddin Rumi was one of the great spiritual masters and poetic geniuses of mankind, and the Mevlevi Sufi order was founded to follow his teachings. He was born in 1207 in Balkh in present day Afghanistan to a family of learned theologians. He died on Dec. 17, 1273. Rūmī was a great Sufi mystic and poet in the Persian language, famous for his lyrics and for his didactic epic Mas̄ navī-yi Maʿnavī (“Spiritual Couplets”), which widely influenced mystical thought and literature throughout the Muslim world. Rumi used Persian and Arabic has resulted in his being claimed variously for Turkish Literature and Persian Literature, which is a reflection of his influence in Iran and Turkey. The influence of his writings in the Indian subcontinent is also substantial. By the end of the 20th century, his popularity had become a global phenomenon, with his poetry achieving a wide circulation in western Europe and the US. 52","THE INFLIENCE OF SHAMS AL-DIN The decisive moment in Rūmī’s life occurred on November 30, 1244, when in the streets of Konya he met the wandering holy man- Shams al-Din of Tabriz. His overwhelming personality, however, revealed to Jalāl al-Dīn the mysteries of divine majesty and beauty. For months the two mystics lived closely together, and Rūmī neglected his disciples and family so that his scandalized entourage forced Shams to leave the town in February 1246. Jalāl al-Dīn was heartbroken, and his eldest son, Sulṭān Walad, eventually brought Shams back from Syria. The family, however, could not tolerate the close relation of Jalāl al-Dīn with his beloved, and one night in 1247 Shams disappeared forever. Shams was murdered, not without the knowledge of Rūmī’s sons, who hurriedly buried him close to a well that is still extant in Konya. This experience of love, longing, and loss turned Rūmī into a poet. His ghazals (about 30,000 verses) and a large number of rubaiyat (“quatrains”)—reflect the different stages of his love, until, as his son writes, “he found Shams in himself, radiant like the moon.” The complete identification of lover and beloved is expressed by his inserting the name of Shams instead of his own pen name at the end of most of his lyrical poems. The Dīvān-e Shams (“The Collected Poetry of Shams”) is a true translation of his experiences into poetry; its language, however, never becomes lost in lofty spiritual heights, and sometimes attains the quality of popular verses. Much of this poetry was composed in a state of ecstasy, induced by the music of the flute or the drum, the hammering of the goldsmiths, or the sound of the water mill in Meram, where Rūmī used to go with his disciples to enjoy nature. He found in nature the reflection of the randiant beauty of the Sun of Religion and felt flowers and birds partaking in his love. He often accompanied his verses by a whirling dance, and many of his poems were composed to be sung in Sufi musical gatherings. Rūmī has also left a small collection of occasional talks known as Fīhi mā fīhi (“There Is in It What Is in It”), the main ideas of his poetry recur, and a collection of letters (Maktūbāt) directed to different persons. His poetry is a most human expression of mystical experiences, in which readers can find their own favourite ideas and feelings—from enthusiastic flights into the heavens to matter-of-fact descriptions of daily life. What is your opinion about life’s purpose? Have you found or reached your essential life’s purpose, to what extent, and something about that? DP That is a very delicate question. After 50 years of experiences with meditation and various forms of self-produced trances I believe that we must find the way back to the Source. The Source is being in a state from which you can direct your attention in any direction and produce any effects. You are the collection of infinitely small, but disorganized, particles (the size of Planck's length). You are to put these particles/informations in symmetrical order so that you recognize them on the intuitive level. You just „know“. Cannot put in words. That is that feeling of familiarity with something we can call Higher Purpose or Force. I can switch in such state within 120 seconds. We might say I am in a hypnagogic state, so to speak, and my subconscious does not show any resistance towards my suggestions, so old traumas and stresses are melting away. It is a train of thoughts we feel as a sensation in our bodies, in a split of a second, but gradually we can see clearly our consciousness is spreading, growing. Everybody can do it. ZD 2. Your healing abilities are known, tell us about the role of life-energy, external influences on it, as well as the role of the mental aspect in the domain of physical and spiritual healing. DP There are many ways. Some are affecting all five koshas as would say in Ayurveda or acupunctural meridians as known in Chinese medicine. This is an easy way, you deal with human prana as did Mesmer. Effects can be dramatic. There are other ways in which you are trying affect deeper programs in human subconscious that some call the karmas. There are three of them. One you cannot affect. Nobody can. The other two you can but only through subliminal messages. Also, some formulas used by patients just before they fall asleep are very helpful. The list of my patients is very long, some stories you can see under Testimonials on www.dragoplecko.com 59","ZD 3. Something about the reversible aging process from your experience. DP Seemingly it does work. The last measurements known as Glycan Age that are conducted in London show that I am biologically 28 years younger than chronologically. Of course, I will not live forever but some systems in which we affect mental, physical, and energetic levels are very effective. These include 4 unknown chakras that are lost in Evolution but in their places are degenerated organs that still exist in our bodies. ZD 4. Your accomplishment in the Guinness Book of Records. DP I don't know if it was in Guinness but was a world record in scientific literature and part of PhD thesis of the late dr Vladimir Gruden. I could produce 4,1 degrees more on one palm than the other. Through pure relaxation. ZD 5. No doubt about your broad education and interest in all aspects of life. The topic of this issue is also religious aspects of the development of civilization, Joint Prayer, a little more about Sufism and Rumi. Is that also the subject of your interest? Your experiences in literature, art and creativity. DP Of course. Rumi was an enlightened saint. Shamus-i-Tabriz, Kabir also. In Sufism there is an excellent exercise called Shughal-I-Iena that gives incredible insights. If practiced 60","properly, of course. Every religion in the world is the same. Looking for God. Differences are political. ZD 6. Your message to artists all over the world? DP Every Path is right. Even a wrong path can lead to the Source! The intention is what counts. Paint and sculpt the way it comes. Don't look for it. It will find you... 61","POETRY 62","USA RICHARD W. So let us embrace the harmony path, And all the bounties that it hath, For in the end, our freedom will shine And we'll know that life would be fine. ©® Nasser Al Shaikhamed IN THE CORNER OF YOUR EYES I cannot put my feet down on the ground fearing they would disturb your shadow are you in there? I feel you right here in my arm. You're running fast, l willl catch your breaths for you. When I was a child, I was dreaming of you to see you arriving, to see you dancing here I come, I am your symphony making the rocks moving in harmony. There is no pain on the horizon you keep shifting me; you keep me in the shell you’re coming through the wind to give me a thrill. I can hear the drums playing there is no harm you're receiving while the music making me swaying I have gotten sick, your love has got me you flanged your arrow of passions; you flanged your dice. Then cast your spell on the mountains but I pretended to be as cold as ice nothing to lose, playing by the rules. 87","Just a little pin prick made me realize you’re holding on to me in the corner of your eyes. ©® Nasser Al Shaikhamed Nasser Al Shaikhamed is a SAUDI ARABIAN poet who writes poetry and short story in Arabic and English. Believe it or not, Our fate is predetermined. Without grief and sorrows, without trust, everyone has to admit, the river is not going back, only forth, besides any anger, any threat. Evolution is the key word. Only fools do not accept, how lucky we are, the future in our hands firmly to hold. Reality is made of dreams, dreams are made through pain, ©® Despotidis Dimosthenis-Dimitrios 92","ENVIRONMENT AT STAKE Today, as never before, nature is at stake. Hills, forests, oceans, lakes, would never be the same again. Nor a sign was heard, neither a word could be spread. Humanity has to realize that one way, or another, lives are dependant upon nature. We, as people, have to value each action, each project, work towards a common goal, the protection of nature. Life goes on and on, Unprecedentedly, ruthless, aimless, for so long. Only aiming at your emotions would be the key word. ©® Despotidis Dimosthenis-Dimitrios Despotidis Dimosthenis - Dimitrios is of Greek origin and a Year 11 student, of the International school of Athens, Campion. If they’re ours Let’s mourn them If they’re theirs Let’s dump them Let them cry Let them croak Let them starve Let them be lonesome But 95","What if it’s an old woman crying behind the wall? What if it’s a lonely child crying behind the wall? A little girl, raped? The helpless have no kin or army or party Or words of solace So what about the helpless? Forget them Fuck them They’re not ours And they’re not theirs either See how they dumped them on us Let them cry Let them croak Let them starve Let them be lonesome But what if they aren’t theirs or ours Whose are they then? I think they’re ours They should be ours We’re helpless they’re helpless They’re ours Ours they’re not Forget them Fuck them They aren’t ours 96","They’re no-one’s Who’s to blame anyway Just look at you— They’re yours You should be over there behind the wall just like them! ©® Ferida Duraković Postscript: The war I suffered through from 1992 to 1995 is still going on in my thoughts today. This poem is my way to speak—bypassing ideologies, politics and the newly formed “states”—about how there is no such thing as a just war, that civilians, in every war, have nothing but lines of verse with which to cover themselves if somebody humiliates them, beats them, tortures them, locks them up, wounds or murders them. Civilians. The collateral damage of every war and all conflicts of all armies and all ideologies in this part of the world, especially nationalistic ones. My grandmother, who died in besieged Sarajevo in 1995, was born in 1911 and over the course of her lifetime she made her way through three wars: the First World War, the Second World War, and this one, one of many in the Balkans. I made it through only this one, one of the many in the Balkans. If we follow this trajectory and its symbolism, my daughter, born in 1996, will not experience the fate of the women in her family. And she’ll live a healthy, happy, long life… Just preserve her from the hearing of evil. 97","WHO’S THAT CRYING BEHIND THE WALL, 2 Sarajevo, from both sides of the wall, from both sides of the river, 2020 Neighbor, did you hear that last night? The kid wailing in the apartment next door? Who sent them out into the wide world and to us, of all places, in this hole in the wall Please, spare me! But, the kid’s just a child who can hardly be blamed for being born Maybe they have nothing to eat And the kid’s sick Maybe they have no medicine I doubt the kid’s crying for joy You, my dear, are such a bleeding heart 98","Obviously you’re a poet This is all according to plan They move into our buildings Change our genes Nothing random here Spare me, like they’ve chosen Bosnia To settle here—out of all the countries in the world Were you a refugee during the war? I was, yes, in Sweden But I had no cell phone like they have Thank God I’m white so I fit in But these here are out to taint our seed All this is a conspiracy against European civilization! It’s just that you don’t understand You’re such a gullible fool Like all poets And besides If you love them so much Be my guest Take them home with you! Postscript: The Slovenian police found thirteen migrants from Iraq, two of them children (six and eleven) who had hidden in a freight truck and suffered from dehydration and a shortage of oxygen. Some of them required medical care after 99","they were found on Tuesday during a routine check on the border with Croatia.
