As I have been studying 3 years at MDX by now and I am fully aware of the students' queries and I will try to do my best to be the best fit for this role, I can not wait to meet the team face to face and prove my abilities to MDX. Amir Parsayan Let's Make a Difference

Manmohan Rampal What makes me a good candidate:  6 years in higher education: 3 years as a international student showing consistency with lots of practical experience and fresh ideas.  I am passionate and dedicated to contributing positively to a student union that has the interests of students at heart. I want to create an Student union which is more enjoyable, more sustainable and more inclusive. A students association that listens to the voice of students and acts on what you ask for. Our students association plays a huge role in our university experience. Although we are here to work hard, we mustn’t forget to play hard too! As Vice President, I would create a fun and exciting student union which actively engages students. I want to improve the quality of services: from student living, support services and representation, to entertainments and food and drinks served in our union. If elected, I will push for: Events for everyone!  More festivals. (Laser quest, foam parties, beer festivals, live bands, big name acts...) Let's make MDX a fun place to be! MENTAL HEALTH AND WELLBEING  Advocate for increase in the number of full-time counsellors and student buddies.  A prompt response to mental health needs. EDUCATION SUPPORT To create an environment where students needs are paramount in education service delivery by:  Students as partners in their education  No hidden cost  Support for Widening Access, Mature and international students  Encourage more participation of the students in sporting activities through the direct involvement of Mdx student union.  Involve the Union more in some academic enhancing resources and policies of the University  Create more avenues to gather and utilize innovative opinions from the students. ASSESSMENT AND FEEDBACK Students feedback should be provided in accordance with a set of constructive standards to ensure that the feedback students receive is fundamental to improving students learning. BOOST EMPLOYABILITY A liberal education where students gain the confidence needed to take initiative, solve problems, and formulate ideas and develop skills.  Mock interviews, public speaking, personal development.  Putting teaching and learning at the heart of the institution with more project-based learning. You can be confident that as Vice President for business and law, I will be committed to my role and stand up for what I believe in. I am passionate and determined, and would like the opportunity to create the student union that you want and deserve! Your union should be the place you know you’re going to get the best service, value and representation. I will ensure that Mdx gives you a world class student experience. Vote Manmohan Rampal for vice president bussiness and law

Micah Saberola Micah Kate Saberola I am standing for president SLOGAN: If Opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door I am a Bsc Computer Science Student Manifesto: As a Student Ambassador I have encountered hundreds of students with the same complaints so come stand with me while I raise an opportunity for students to have better chance in improving their coursework. I am here to extend the No detriment Policy of 2020-2022, this is to have a two- week extension granted without giving any proof of evidence, this is because some students have unexpected circumstances and are parents. I also will make sure that MDXworks is advertised to all students on campus as there are many opportunities rising within and it would be a shame to not let all the students know about these. I will do this by making sure that graduate students have more opportunities for placements or jobs that are related on their courses, doing so I will make sure to increase the connection of MDXworks outside the University. Also, by making sure they are more open in their approach when they plan events such as job fairs as well as a continuity of employability lectures in students’ final year. Lastly, I hear your voice! I will raise all the issues such as the awareness of mental health for all students that have gone through their struggles alone and don’t know how and where to seek help. I WILL LEAD YOUR VOICES THROUGH SUCCESS!!

Niyati Shah Hi my name is Niyati ,and I m second year student I am passionate about this role . I want to represent our university and make sure that overall student experience continues to improve .

Andra Anghelache Hi, First of all, thank you for your interest in reading my manifesto! In the next academic year I intend to listen to your wishes and proposals to make your life at Middlesex more beneficial. It would be an honor for me to represent your voice and fulfill your desires. I am currently in my second year at the Theater Arts field and what I want for all the arts departaments is to create a festival where classes from all the universities in London can register and present their theatre shows, exhibitions, short-films, installations and more. In addition, I would like to have workshops from each art departments during the festival where we can exchange experience with other lectures and students from other universities. Just imagine what a festival of student artists in London would look like and together we can bring this project to life. Besides that, I would like to organize some events through which students can get to know other students from other artistic areas. I think it would be useful to exchange experience in college and get to know each other better. As I am already a Studend Voice Leader, I really want your Middlesex experience to be as enjoyable as possible. So please, let's be a team and succeed together in doing what we set out to do. Faz Cheema I am a student studying 3D games design and animation in my first year. I believe all student voices matter, and that it is the duty of those confident enough to share those voices to do so. In college, I took on the role of the Student Governer for two successful years and helped bring about positive change anywhere possible. I am approachable and will never turn down an idea. The role of vice president would be suited for me as I am very creative and am willing to listen to all ideas. I am logically minded and strive for the best execution in all my daily activities, I believe I can help bring the same to the role. I am a very open person and support all religions, races, ethnicities sexualities, genders. This opportunity fills me with excitement. Shania Flor As a third year Popular Music student at Middlesex University I would love to represent the creative arts industry with the knowledge and experience I have gained in the past three years. During my study I have experienced both positive and negative aspects of my course and already have an understanding of what my fellow piers hope to change. As someone who is passionate about helping others achieve their goals I would be delighted to be a part of a campaign that could make these goals a reality. Although some goals may seem difficult to achieve, I believe I have the right skills to make strategic plans, consider different opinions and help decide on the most sustainable and beneficial paths in order to achieve a positive change. I believe through my passion for helping others, experience at university and strong communication skills I could be the perfect candidate for the role of a vice president.

Nathaneal Hawthorne VOTE #1 NATHANEAL HAWTHORNE VICE PRESIDENT ARTS & CREATIVE WE DESERVE A COMFORTABLE STUDENT LEARNING EXPERIENCE ADDITIONAL EXTERNAL FACILITIES We are already paying a tremendous amount for our tuition out of our own pocket. I will fight for more access to programs, tutorials, supplies and discounts relating to our creative studies. These things should be provided by the university. MORE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES University-based artistic employment opportunities are lacking. I believe additional art-related campus based job opportunities will look excellent on our CV's, tremendously boosting our employability once we graduate university. ADDITIONAL FINANCIAL SUPPORT Tuition loans, accommodation, maintenance loan, all this adds up, this is even more severe for international students. I will fight for more financial support for us students struggling. More bursaries, less additional costs, better payment plans. Explore news way to encourage sustainability of resources and find new ways to reduce waste generation. Without change, there would be no butterflies! #voteforchange #voteforbhavya

Andru Sandu Hi there, My name is Andru and I currently study 3D Animation and Games at Middlesex University. By applying for the Vice President role, I intend to find ways to adapt the current ACI courses to better prepare students for the artistic industry (video games, illustration, animation, film, fashion, etc.). I noticed that even though our courses currently cover a wide range of topics, it sometimes fails to prepare us for what we will face after we graduate. There seems to be a dichotomy between the university environment ,which seems at times too agreeable, and the studio/office work environment. Not only this, but skills like \"selling your skillset\" are not currently focused on, withing these courses. Moreover, I want to create an active \"channel\" of communication between students and the directors of the ACI courses, so everyone's voice can be heard, for the benefit of all students. Thank you for reading.

Atlanta Sonson-Chapman To encourage the discouraged! And to achieve the unachievable!

Lanna Winter As a Spanish trans woman with a very difficult background, I believe in personal growth and success. Moving to London and starting my studies at Middlesex University made me change my way of viewing the world and my way of thinking. Sometimes life can be very difficult, but we don't have to be afraid of asking and of being vulnerable. After all, there are many people who can help you. Arts and Creativity helped me going through many issues, from personal to professional. I believe in humanity and in the healing factor of arts. As a Vice president, I will put my soul, body and mind into helping and giving advise to anyone who needs it. Vote for me and you will be voting for a comunity. In the meantime, if you feel like you need a quick chat about anything, you can drop me a message via instagram (lannawinter_) and I will be there to help you.

VICE PRESIDENT HEALTH, SOCIAL CARE & EDUCATION The following candidates are campaigning to be elected as Vice President Health, Social Care & Education. Make sure to rank the candidates in order of preference when you vote. Read the following candidates’ manifesto Iveta Todorova | Vivian Unaka

Iveta Todorova PRESIDENT Welcome to Middlesex University! My name is Iveta Todorova and I am running for Vice President of Health, Social Care, and Education because I believe students should have a central voice in their education. We all have made large sacrifices and worked hard to get here. I strongly believe that our Student Union has a duty to support societies and student services. However, I feel the Union has failed in this regard. Societies are an important part of the university experience and they make a great contribution to student life. Our union should be petitioning for more funding for our society. If I am elected, I will make sure that future health, social care, and education professionals have a strong social platform and society where they can socialise and share expertise. As a social work student, I am well aware that in our line of work, having an increased social platform will have a great impact on our careers as we will all work in multidisciplinary teams and relationship building is crucial. One of my main morals is to help people and my top priority is to advocate for them. I will fight for you and use everything within my power and beyond to make sure all your concerns are addressed and resolved. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions or you just want to have a chat. I am here to help.

My Agenda is to encourage one-to-one interaction with students right from the induction activities, Use every social networking medium to create and sustain synergy between the Students, various societies & MDXSU, Encourage more student participation in sporting activities through direct involvement of MDXSU and also Create more avenues to gather & utilise innovative opinions from the students. If elected, I will use this position to maintain and promote my effort for student benefits and career success opportunities as best possible. As everyone has different abilities and equipment, they cannot be effective alone, but there are always things and successes that more than one different people with the same goal can do together. For this reason, I am ready to use my own equipment and multi-skills under the name of this role and to be in this society.

Yolanda Dyer \"Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.\"  Nelson Mandela, 1990 For many, university represents a transformative period teeming with new experiences and opportunities. Our paths to university differ, but we all go because we share one common objective - change. Some of us want to transition into adulthood, some of us want to change our socioeconomic status, and others want to change how they think. This is why university is so important - it plays such a vital role in shaping who we become and the way we move in the world. Therefore the primary focus of universities should be on their students - to listen to their needs and ensure that they are being met. Since I started at Middlesex, I have been advocating for the needs of students in varying capacities. I have been a part of the :  Equality Diversity and Inclusion programme, which seeks to change the curriculum and the ways it's delivered so that it reflects the students.  The disciplinary panel, as a student representative, to advocate for fair decisions in student misconduct cases.  NUS liberation delegate, to advocate for Black students on a national level  MDXSU Union Council, to vote on student policies to be implemented across the university I have also advocated for the academic needs of students as a Student Learning Assistant (SLA), where I work alongside students and lecturers to maximise student potential. If elected for this role, I will continue to identify issues, listen to students and advocate for their needs.
