FORE WORD Andijan State University named after Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur was founded in 1931. The university was established as the Andijan branch of the Fergana Pedagogical Institute in 1939 worked as an evening pedagogical institute until Full-time since June 23, 1939 became a teacher training institute. FACULTY OF HISTORY The Faculty of History was established in 1932 as a Shamsitdinov Ravshanbek separate faculty in 1932 at the Andijan Evening Pedagogical Rustambekovich Institute. Initially, 20 students studied at the faculty. Soon (dean of faculty) it included social literature groups and history economics groups. In 1934, training of the history of civic was established. By 1937, the faculties of history and philology began working together. In 1957, the Faculty of Methodics of Primary Education was opened in 1957. In 1959, students were also admitted to the corresponding department of history. In 1976, the Faculty of History Philology was reorganized. 28

THEORY AND PRACTICE Students studying at the Faculty of History will strengthen their theoretical knowledge in qualifying practices. In the fields of archeology, ethnography, museum science and archival science in the curriculum, students participate in archeological excavations in other parts of the regions of the Fergana Valley, and the historical cities of Uzbekistan - Kokand, Namangan, Tashkent, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, Bukhara, Khiva. They take part in the qualifying internship, prescribed by the museums and state archives in our region. The faculty established cooperation with the Public Education Department of Andijan Region. Exchange of experience in schools, colleges and lyceums is organized by theoretical, practical and methodological exchange of experience. Great attention is paid to practice in the educational process together with theoretical education. In order to form and develop students’ qualifying skills, it is planned to hold practical trainings ones in a week. 32
PERSPECTIVE PLANS • To open new majors on the basis of joint educational programs with Foreign Universities; • To send out demanding and hardworking teachers to foreign countries in order to gain experience and participate in retraining courses for teachers; • To increase the scientific competence of the faculty dynamically; • To implement foreign projects to teaching process; FUND Fund of “Meros” international scientific-practical expedition was founded on September 21, 2001. SCIENTIFIC SEMINARS Scientific seminar “Independence and National history” has been functioning under the History Faculty and the leader of this scientific seminar is the professor of the department of History of Uzbekistan Doctor of Historical sciences M.G.Abdullaev. CIRCLES Today, the departments of the Faculty of History there are currently circles «Young historians», «Numismatist», «Young Politicians» work and are headed by qualified professors. The circles are united by more than 150 talented students, and members of the circle are engaged in their scientific and creative activities in the relevant areas. The results of the scientific research of the circle are published in the university’s socio-historical, scientifically and popular journals like “Ilmiy xabarnoma - Научный вестник”, « Vodiynoma» (Historical heritage), and Andijan Youth newspaper and various collections. Among the members of the circle, special Scholarship owners and the winners of various competitions are growing. 33
SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL AFFAIRS In 2017-2021 Spiritual and educational affairs of the faculty has been ensuring on the basis of the implementation of the strategy of actions in 2017-2021 and the 5 important initiatives imposed by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty candidate of historical science R. Shamsutdinov and professors, more than 100 categories of programs have been prepared through national and regional television, radio broadcasts. In order to effectively conduct students’ free time, the competitions in sports, music and art «The most active reader groups», «Zakovat», the Student Theater-Studio «are held among them. A number of measures are being held for the development and promotion of the development of the family. Spiritual and material support system has been created in order to develop the skill of humanitarian values of students’ and teachers’, and they have already participated in different activities in Old people’s homes and orphanages. 34
SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL At the initiative of Professor R.T. Shamsutdinov, the socio-historical, scientific and popular magazine «Vodiynoma» (Historical heritage) has been published in 2016. The magazine consists of several pillars, which is provided to new scientific data from the oldest period of the Fergana Valley to the current day. The magazine is also included in the list of publications on the results of dissertations under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 35

DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY OF UZBEKISTAN The department of history of Uzbekistan was established by the rector of Andijan State Pedagogical Institute in accordance with the 112 «R» on June 12, 1991. Initially, the teaching staff members of the department were R. T. Shamsutdinov- the first head of the department, 2 candidates of Sciences (E. Yusupov, T.Avvalov) and 2 senior teachers (A.Mamajonov, V.P.Dolgov) and a senior laboratory assistant (X. Matisaev). In 1991-1998, in 2008-2012, the Department of History of Uzbekistan was headed by Doctor of historical science, Professor R.T. Shamsutdinov. In its time the department developed in every way. From year to year, the department has expanded, educational and spiritual activity has improved well. In 1998-1999, the head of the department was Doctor of historical science, Professor I. A. Alimov, in 1999¬2001 candidate of historical science, docent N.Y.Qodirova, in Alixojiyev Muhammadjon 2001-2005, AlixojiyevMuhammadjon Odiljon’s 2015-2019 candidate Odiljon’s son (Head of the Department of History of historical science, docent S.A.Xoshimov, 2005-son Since 2019, the of Uzbekistan) department is being headed by Ph.D., Associate Professor Alixojiev Muhammadjon Odiljan ugli. The main scientific aspect of the department is named as «History of Uzbekistan during Russian Imperialism and Soviet colonialism” and “Soviet repression policies and its consequences», «History of Andijan (from the oldest period up now)». During the years of independence, the department has done significant work in the course of teaching and researching the history of Uzbekistan. One of the scientific directions of the department is to investigate the history of the National Development’s Movement, Jedid’s movement, history of repression policy and others performed by the Soviets in Uzbekistan. In order to have a thoroughly investigation professor R.T. Shamsitdinov and his colleagues under the supervision of him visited different places like State archives of Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, the archive under the Presidential Devan of the Republic of Uzbekistan and researched many documents and materials kept in there and published several monographs, set of documents and materials, scientific articles in here and abroad. During Independence year 07.00.01- course for postgraduate students on the specialty of history of Uzbekistan and 5A120301- course for Master’s Degree on history of Uzbekistan were opened. Scientific Council Giving Scientific Degrees on Major of History of Uzbekistan for candidates worked here in 1993-1995, 1995-1998, 2005-2006. From 2019, in Andizhan State university Scientific Council Giving Scientific Degrees № DSc.03/31.12.2020.Tar.60.01. began to work. The head of this council is Doctor of historical science, professor R.T.Shamsutdinov. 38
THE DEPARTMENT OF WORLD HISTORY The Department of History was founded in 1961. Initially, as its members were, O.X.Valiyev, K.F. Kasimbekov, Sh.Sohibov, O.Niyozov, A.Anorboyev, B. Turdiyev, R. Rafikova. Obidjon Valiyev was the only candidate among those teachers of the department. He managed the department by 1974 as a member of the World War II, as an experienced educator. Associate Professor I. P.Pulatov headed the department since 1974. As a result, significant changes took place in the activities of the department of history in all areas. Currently, the structure of the department has expanded. Since 1971, Candidate of Historical Sciences Z.A. Kutiboyev began to work at the department. In 1983, after the death of the head of the department, the department was headed by Associate Professor Z.Kutiboyev. In 1991, the department was awarded the Department of «General History», which is mainly taught in the world history. Associate Professor Z.A. Kutiboyev Xamrayeva Tanzilya Ravilevna was appointed as a head of the department in 1991-2010. (Head of the Department of World In the 2008-2009 academic year, the department included a doctor of History) historical Sciences, Professor I. Salimov. His coming to the department has enriched the scientific environment. Under the leadership, many of the specialists in our region and the universities of the country have gained scientific degrees and get their Master’s, and doctors of Science Degrees. Professor I.A.Alimov and doctor of historical science Z.A. Kutibaev worked many years as members of the specialized Council on History of Uzbekistan № K.067.02.12 of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek. After the death of Professor Z.A. Kutiboyev in 2011, the deputy senior teacher B.Z.Tuxtaboyev worked as a head of the department. From November 2011, candidate of historical science, docent T.R. Khamrayeva has been working as a head department of «General History». In accordance with the Council of Andijan State University, on September 2, 2015, the department was renamed the «World History». Currently, the department has 13 professors and teachers. Those three docents, one PhD, five senior teachers and four teachers. Nowadays, docent A.Mamajonov, senior teachers D.Musayev, A.Mirzaev, A. Turgunov work on a grant project to learn the history of villages, mahallas, neighborhoods in Andijan region. Many scientific articles were published by professors and teachers of the department. The department has published 6 textbooks and manuals for 3 years. Head of the department, docent E.Smesova, and docent A.Mamajonov developed, created and implemented manuals and course papers, graduation qualification papers and methodical instructions for the students of the department. 39
DEPARTMENT OF CIVIC SOCIETY THEORY The Department of Civic Society theory was established in 2018, on the basis of the department of the theory and practice of building a democratic society in Uzbekistan, according to the order of the rector of the university № 256. Department of theory and Practice of Building a Democratic Society in Uzbekistan was established according to the order of The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 20, 1995 as a core department for the universities in Fergana Valley on “Establishing a new Department of theory and Practice of Building a Democratic Society” According to the order of the rector of Andizhan State University № 02-1 of January 2, 1996. At first, the department was lead by Candidate of Historical Sciences, docent N. Ulugjanov. In 1997-2000, by candidate of historical sciences Sh. M. Askarov, in 2000-2008 candidate of sociological sciences K. Yunusov, in 2008- 2012 candidate of sociological sciences, docent M.P.Yunusova, in 2008-2015 Khaydarov Gayratbek candidate of historical sciences, docent U. Ubaydullaev, in 2015-2017 candidate Mirzapulatovich of sociological sciences, docent O. Axmadjonov. (Head of the Department of Civil Since 2017, the department has been headed by candidate of historical Society Theory) sciences, docent G.Haydarov. Currently, the department has 3 doctors of sciences, 5 candidates of sciences, docents, 2 senior teachers, 7 teachers. Many textbooks, teaching and methodological manuals have been created for the use of professors and teachers of the department in the educational process, as well as organizing Grands, various projects and conferences at the department. One of the leading professors of the department Doctor of sociological sciences, Professor Muqimjon Kirgizbaev published a lot of materials. For example, “Civic society: parties, ideologies, cultures”. (2007), “Theory of Civic society and Foreign experience” (2008), “Civic society Genesis, formation and development” (2011), «Political Science»(2013), «Sociology»(2017), « Civic society «(in cooperation with A. Otamurodov 2019), « History of the Irrigation and Land attitude». - Tashkent: Muharrir Publisher, (2020), Besides, many scientific works were published by the rest of the members of the department. G. Khaydarov “A history of the development of national handicrafts in Uzbekistan (2020), X.Xujamberdiev “History of socio-political processes in Uzbekistan” (1970-1991), K. Yunusov «Practicum on Sociology»,» Sociology «, M. Yunusova “Politology”, “Geopolitics in Uzbekistan and the basis of Geopolitical situation”, manual by Z.Hayitmatov “Extremism and terrorism- threat for humanity”. “The theory and practice of building a democratic society in Uzbekistan” is one of the collaborative work done by the members of the department under the leadership of professor M.Kirgizbaev and his colleagues K.Yunusov, O.Komilov, O.Ahmadjonov, O‘.Ubaydullayev, X.Xodjamberdiyev, A.Badalov, Yu.Jahongirov, Z.Hayitmatov, F.Nurdinova (2014). The main scientific investigation topic of the department is Socio-political and spiritual- ideological problems of building a democratic society in Uzbekistan. 40
FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES
FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES The Faculty of Natural Sciences has a long history. First, in Tokhtaboyev Nozimjon 1931 it was a part of Fergana Pedagogical Institute called Andijan Hoshimjonovich evening department,the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology. In (dean of faculty) 1931 there was the first admission to the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology and students studying in Russian and Uzbek languages were accepted. The lessons for Uzbek-speaking groups were conducted in the building on Anisiy Street ,which was in the Old part of the city , for the Russian-language groups in the new part of the city. In 1934 first chemistry and biology teachers graduated from the faculty and 25 alumni were awarded with diplomas. Among teaching staff there were academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan A.H Muzaffarov, honored teachers of the republic Y.P Myasnisyan and A. Makeyeva. In the 1930s teachers as S.V.Averintsev, S.N.Deynekeva, A.M.Muhammadiyev, Ahmadulin, G.Sh.Ilyosov, Shtepker, Schwarzbukh worked at the faculty. 42
In 1936, a geographical and biological department was opened at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology.The Faculty of Natural Sciences, which operated from 1939 to 1957, was renamed the Faculty of Biology in 1958. The Department of Geography was opened at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography in 1939 where Professor N.I. Lonov worked. From September 1939, the candidate of biological sciences S.Sahobiddinov became the head of the department of natural sciences. For a long time he was the only associate professor at the institute. In 1939, the Geographical department of the Natural-Geographical faculty accepted students in two groups with training in Uzbek language and one group in Russian. In 1940, 12 students graduated from the Department of Biology among them R.M. Kaziyev, N.K.Chekusheva and Aysha Yakubova, who worked as the secretary of the city party committee. During the World War II relocatees like professor A.V.Anuchin, Doctor of Chemistry, Professor P.Z.Fisher, local personnel like N.M.Avezov, Sodikov, I.Sotiboev, I.Chekusheva, A.Samatov, T.Abdullayev taught students. From 1960 to 1967, it was again renamed the Faculty of Natural Sciences, where teachers of biology and chemistry, basics of biology and agriculture, biology and geography were trained. In 1968, it was renamed the Faculty of Biology, where teachers with a degree of biology and chemistry (full-time), geography (extramural), chemistry (full-time), biology (extramural) were trained. In 1970-1975 it was renamed the Faculty of Biology and was led by candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate ProfessorM.Ibragimov; in 1976-1985 by candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor I. Badalkhojaev; in 1981-1989 by candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor S.Kh. Khalikov. In 1992, Andijan State Pedagogical Institute received the status of a university, and the Faculty of Biology was renamed the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of Andijan State University where the dean was I.R. Askarov. In 1993 the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology were established. In 1993-2000 the dean of the Faculty of Chemistry became Ph.D., Associate professor. T.Y.Nasriddinov, and the department of biology was led by professor TA Madumarov. The faculty of biology was governed by: 2001-2002 Ph.D., Associate professor A.Dadamirzaev, 2003-2004 Ph.D., Associate professor U.Hafizov, 2004-2005 Associate Professor G.N Jurakulov. Also, the faculty of Chemistry was led by candidate of chemical sciences, Associate professor M.J.Khojimatov in 2000-2004, in 2004-2005 by Ph.D., associate, professor Sh.Isroilov. In 2005, the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Ecology and Nature Management was merged into the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology. Since 2011, the faculty had been renamed the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography but in 2015, the faculty became the Faculty of Natural Sciences. From 2017 to present, the head of faculty is candidate of technological sciences, Associate professor N.Kh.Tokhtaboyev. Today, the faculty has four departments: Department of Chemistry, Department of Zoology and Biochemistry, Department of Geography, Department of Ecology and Botany. 43

SCIENTIFIC COUNCIL GRANTING SCIENTIFIC DEGREES By the decision of the Higher Attestation Commission under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 510 of October 30, 2021 at Andijan State University, the Academic Council was created to confer the scientific degrees of Doctor of Chemical Sciences (DSc) and Candidate of Chemical Sciences (PhD) No. 03/29.2021.K.60.05 ... Currently, defenses are being carried out in the specialties 02.00.09 - «Goods Chemistry» (chemical sciences) and 14.00.41 - «Traditional medicine» mical sciences). 44

THEORY AND PRACTICE Students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences consolidate theoretical knowledge in practice. They take part in expeditions included in the curriculum to local regions, and also travel to other parts of the Fergana Valley for field practice, internship in ecology, biology and geography. Students participate in trips to the natural zones of Uzbekistan like Imam Ota, Pop, Chust, Yazyavan and Shohimardon. Qualification internships are carried out in accordance with the curriculum at the State Department for Ecology and Nature Protection, the Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Peace and Health, as well as in forestry organizations operating in our region. The faculty cooperates with the Andijan Regional Department of Public Education and the State Department of Ecology and Nature Protection. In addition to theoretical training, in the mentioned organizations, practical classes are conducted in order to form and develop students’ skills. 46
CLUB ACTIVITIES Today, at the departments of the Faculty of Natural Sciences various clubs named «Young entomologist»,«Chemist», «Chemist-Olympian»,«Young geographer» and «Biosphere» are conducted under the guidance of experienced teachers and professors. More than 140 gifted students are involved in these clubs, engaged in scientific and creative activities in the relevant directions in their specialties. The results of the research work of the club members are published in scientific and popular magazines, the newspaper «Youth ofAndijan», in various digest of articles, their works were presented in the «Nauchniy vestnik»(Russia), at national and international conferences. Among the members of the club there are holders of prestigious scholarships and winners of various competitions. 47
SPIRITUAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THE FACULTY Spiritual and educational affairs at the faculty is based on the implementation of the Action Strategy in five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 and 5 important initiatives put forward by President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev. On the initiative of the Dean of the Faculty , candidate of technical Sciences N.Kh. Tokhtaboev and professors prepared more than 100 series of programs and radio broadcasts on republican and regional television. In order to spend students’ free time effectively, such contests as «The most active reader», «The most active readers’ groups», «Intellect», «Student theater-studio» are regularly held. A number of activities are being carried out to develop and popularize sports, music and art education among students. In order to form high human values among students,there has been established a system of material and moral support for the «Nursing Home» and the «House of Mercy» with the participation of the teaching staff and students. 48
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE • In the 2022-2023 academic year it is planned to branch out new directions of bachelor’s degree at the department «Geodesy, cartography and cadastre (60722500 )» and “Ecology and geography (by branches)”; • Increase the number of researchers in master’s and doctoral studies. • Formation of a scientific council for ecology (03.00.10 ) . Professional development of professors and teachers of the department in advanced countries universities. • It is planned to send aspiring and enthusiastic young pedagogical staff of the faculty to Moscow State University, Baltic Federal University to improve their skills and experience, to conduct research work. 49
