Filthy Garment qualied or has the personality to obtain such blessing therefore he stole the garment of Esau whom the blessing was meant for. In the same vein, the enemy has exchanged some people's garment which he uses to collect their blessings and has given them the garment of wrong impression that does not attract any good thing. Spiritually, white or rich garment denotes righteousness act of the saints (Revelation 19:8) which is a reection of God's glory. While on the other hand, lthy garment symbolizes sin and satanic acts (Zechariah 3:1-4). Garment of sin Sin is the major thing that constitute lthy garment in one's life which attracts Satan and his demons in such a person's life. Everyone on earth is either being guided by angels of God or demons depending on the garment on him spiritually. Satan had the platform to stand at the right hand of Joshua because the garment was lthy which signied sin. When the prodigal son repented and came back to his father, his father changed his garment. His garment was pure until he went astray (Luke 15:22). If sin could cause someone's garment to be lthy, it is only genuine repentance that can change such garment. Repentance is sorrow for sin followed by confession that the offence has been committed against a holy God and that leads to change of heart that manifest itself in change of action. This is exactly what the prodigal son demonstrated. 99

The God of Justice Family background that is also rooted in the sin of idolatry can also leads to lthy garment. Psalm 106:19-20: They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image. Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass. Garment of death When someone is sentence to death in the law court, they put on that person the garment of death till the day of execution. In the same vein, the enemy has clothed many people with the garment of death in order to attract the demons of death for execution. Matthew 27:28: when Jesus was condemned to death, they stripped Him of His royal robe and put a scarlet robe on Him. Scarlet robe denotes garment of death. Hence when He rose from death, He left the garment of death in the grave (John 20:5-7). When Jesus raised Lazarus from death, he stood with grave cloth then Jesus commanded that they should loose him and let him go (John 11:44). I command every garment of death placed upon you to be erased by re, in the name of Jesus Christ. Garment of bondage or slavery Prisoners have garment which is used to identify them. They are also spiritual garment of slavery or bondage which makes the victims to portray poor image in the mind of others. This is one of 100

Joseph happens to be his father's favorite and as such his father sewed for him coat of many colors (Gen.37:3). But when Joseph brothers conspired against him and to sell him to the Ishmaelite, they stripped him off his coat of many colors (Gen. 37:23). Joseph was sold to Ishmaelite who letter sold him to Potiphar and Joseph became a slave in the house of Potiphar (Gen.39:1). While he was there as a slave, he was imprisoned when Potiphar's wife lied against him. When they brought him out of the prison, they changed his prison garment and put on him the royal robe (Gen.41:14). When Evil- merodach king of Babylon brought Jehoiachin the king of Judah out of prison, he also changed his prison garment (2 Kings 25:27- 29). I pray that the Lord by His mighty hand will pull off every garment of bondage in your life now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Garment of mourning or afiction Garment of mourning or afiction makes someone live a sorrowful life, poverty, demonic oppression, seasonal sickness, sadness and unpleasant situation. Psalm 30:11: Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness. 101

The God of Justice If someone is wearing lthy garment, his good deed would not be remembered but his mistakes or errors. There is no one on earth without positive and negative side but the lthy garment will make people not to remember one's positive side but only the negative part of one's life. When Mordecai saved the king from the plot of his servants nobody rewarded him for his good deed. But just because he refused to bow to Haman, they conspired to eliminate him and the entire Jews (Esther 3:1-13). Thank God for three days prayer and fasting. After Esther and the entire Jews had prayed for three days and night, then Esther approached the king and found favour in his sight. The same night the king could not sleep and he commanded that they should bring the book of record. The king discovered that it was written in the past that mordecai revealed the secret plot to eliminate king Ahasuerus by his two servants and the king asked what honour or reward was given to mordecai for his good works, the servants said there is nothing done for him (Esther 6:1-3). Therefore the king elevated mordecai and honoured him. The symptoms of the lthy garment Ÿ Is the spirit of Lukewarm which makes one unable to pray and meditate on the word of God. Ÿ When one is often receiving false accusation on things he/she is innocent about. · Ÿ Always being pursued by mad people either physically or in the dream. CHAPTER TEN INDIVIDUAL FAMILY EARTHLY FOUNDATION Every individual that came into this world pass through a particular family and every family have their unique foundation which has a powerful inuence on everyone that came through that family. Every family background affects the children either positively or negatively depending on the kind of foundation that is established in that family. Individual family earthly foundation is constituted by the rst generation to the fourth generation of the father and mother linage. The consequence of the kind of foundation laid by the rst generation of any family transcend to the second, third and fourth generation. In other words, the foundation of the rst generation has a domino effect to the fourth generation. One should not compare himself with other people from other families because our earthly foundation differs. That is why we should not imitate others to pray. The way someone prays to get result may differ from others because of our unique background. I want to illustrate on certain things that constitute individual family background, or things that make our background unique from 107

The God of Justice others. Polygamous home One of the ways a family could be founded under wrong foundation is where the direct or grand parents have practiced polygamy. Every woman coming into a polygamous marriage or home they prepare for battle and come with diabolical power. When Rachel was moving nally to Jacobs's house she stole her father's idol, she was prepared for a polygamous battle. Gen.31:34: Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not. If there is anything I will forget in life, I will never forget the advice given to me by my late father. He warned us to avoid marrying two wives, he said based on his personal experience a polygamous home is a battleeld. Parent's profession A home where either of the parents happens to be a witch doctor, idol priest, prostitute or river goddess princess is another way a family wrong foundation could be instituted. Such family is a seat of Satan because anyone that has practiced any of these is a direct agent of Satan. Witchcraft spirit will always torment the sons and daughters of such family because they must have been dedicated or covenanted to the devil. Unless a prayer of deliverance or family liberation is conducted any one that came from such family will be labouring under wrong foundation. 108

(25) And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Take thy father's young bullock, even the second bullock of seven years old, and throw down the altar of Baal that thy father hath, and cut down the grove that is by it: The family of Gideon was very poor because his father happens to be the priest of Baal. Jephthah was the rst son of his father but his step brothers did not allow him in sharing their father's inheritance because his mother was a harlot. Judges 11:1: Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. {2} And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman. Idolatry The foundation of a family is also constituted by what the ancestors used to serve as deity in the past, the kind of tradition they used to keep in the past, or what they pay allegiance to. The consequence of the sin of idolatry in a family by the ancestors could be inuential till the fourth generations as I stated above. 109

The God of Justice Exodus 20:5: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me; The Lord warned that the worship of idol in any family would be a snare to the members of the family. The kind of deity brought into any family by the ancestors has a consequential spiritual implication up to the fourth generation of that family. Exodus 23:32: Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. {33} They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee. Even if one is not directly involved in the worship of such deity but as long as he came from that family, he/she must undergo prayer of deliverance to be liberated from it. Hebrew 7:9-10: And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. {10} For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. The above scripture reveals that Levi paid tithe in Abraham, that is to say when he was in the loins of his father (Abraham) yet unborn, the tithe that Abraham paid to Melchisedec, had a transgenerational effect on Levi, that was not yet born at that moment. Therefore, the sacrices and the allegiance your ancestors made to deities from the rst generation to the fourth generation of 110

Family bloodline An individual foundation can also be positive or negative through his family bloodline. Moses got a negative background which affected his earthly destiny through his parental bloodline. Genesis 49:5-7: Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations. {6} O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united: for in their anger they slew a man, and in their self will they digged down a wall. {7} Cursed be their anger, for it was erce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel. Jacob was displeased because of the anger exhibited by Simeon and Levi. In their anger, they killed a man and as such he cursed them saying \"cursed be their anger\". They came under the curse of anger and Levi happens to be the parents of Moses both his paternal and maternal origin. Exodus 2:1, 2, 10: And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. {2} And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. {10} And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. Moses own was that he inherited anger in his family bloodline 111

The God of Justice while other people's own could be a kind of sickness or disease, poverty, stealing and other negative traits. Moses could not make the promise land because of the spirit of anger in his bloodline. (Ex: 32: 19-23, Num 20:3-13, Psm 106:32) How do you know if the background of a family is faulty? When you notice a similar thing happening to family members, it is a sign of wrong family background. When members of a family are suffering the same ordeal is also a sign. Marine altar This is one of the major things that constitute wrong foundation in one’s life. Every one that comes from a family where they used to serve water spirit is liable to be under the inuence of marine spirit, especially those who came from communities or town surrounded by river. Some families in these communities their ancestors or direct parents used to worship and make sacrices to the river goddess therefore, subjecting their sons and daughters to the authority of marine spirit. In some places where there was no river, the ancestors or direct parents build marine altar with clay pot, mirror or calved canoe with a paddle which they called OLOKUN in some part of Africa continent or IGBE. They may have different names in some other places but altar that is rooted to the river is marine altar. The law of Sowing and reaping Genesis 8:22: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and 112

One of the principles that govern the world or the activities of human being is the principle of sowing and reaping. This principle is so strong that many families and individuals are affected today by it either positively or negatively. As long as we are on this planet earth, we live under the inuence of this law. Hence the scripture says: \"While the earth remains, seed time and harvest time shall not cease\". Whatever we do on earth, whether by action or verbally, we are sowing seeds that determine what will happen to us tomorrow. It is a divine principle that whatever we do is a seed that produces fruit in due cost. Gal.6:7: Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. When Judah led the people of Israel in Battle after the death of Joshua against the Canaanites and the Parzzites, King Adoni-Bezek was captured and his thumbs and big toes were cut off. This was what he did in the past; he cut off the thumbs and big toes of seventy kings. He attested that the Lord had avenged him for what he had done to others. Judges 1:6-7: {6} But Adoni-bezeked; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes. {7} And Adoni- bezeksaid, Threescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their 113

And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died. proverb22:8: He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail. There are many families that are under the curse of shedding innocent blood and nothing is working for every member of these families because blood is crying against them. When Joab murdered Abner, David lamented saying \"… I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD forever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner: (2Sam 3:28). Therefore he pronounced curses on Joab and his father's house. 2Sam 3:29: Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread. In many families bloodline, either the ancestors or presently people have murdered their parents who they claimed to be witches or wizards or their fellow humans. Shedding of innocent blood is one of the major things that attract divine judgment. The curse was not meant to rest on Joab only but also his family and descendants. The curse that came upon Joab and his family for killing Abner was that they will be suffering from issue of blood, leprosy, sickness, violent death and poverty. 114

Individual Family Earthly Foundation When Ahab murdered Naboth and took possession of his vineyard, the Lord spoke through Prophet Elijah saying, \"….In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs shall lick your blood, even yours. (23)And concerning Jezebel the Lord also spoke, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel (1Kings21:19, 23). Ahab and Jezebel reap what they sowed. The dogs licked their blood (1Kings22:38; 2Kings9:30-37). Not only did Ahab and Jezebel reap the seed they sowed, their children were not left out in the repercussion. 1kings 21:29: Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house. Lam.5:7: Our fathers have sinned, and are not; and we have borne their iniquities. The children of Ruben reap the evil seed sown by their father. Ruben deled his father's bed (Genesis 35:22) and as such his father Jacob laid curse on him (Genesis 49:3-4). The scripture says: 1Chron. 5:1: Now the sons of Reuben the rstborn of Israel, (for he [was] the rstborn; but, forasmuch as he deled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright. Family foundation could be positive or negative. Someone like 115

The God of Justice Timothy in the Bible got a positive background. 2Timothy1:5: When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt rst in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also. Apostle Paul attested to the fact that the foundation of faith laid by Timothy's grandmother Lois was effective in his direct mother's life and also inuential in the life of Timothy. Our individual family foundation differs, either you are from a polygamous home, family that is under curse of shedding innocent blood, negative family bloodline, or you came from family where your parents used to be witch doctors. This is the reason we do not need to imitate anyone whether they are making it in life with little or no effort in prayers because we came from different background. PRAYER 1. Father God, forgive me of any sin that may hinder answer to my prayers, in the name of Jesus Christ. 2. Father God, I ask for the forgiveness of any sin committed by my ancestors or direct parents that is affecting me negatively, in the name of Jesus Christ. 3. Father God, I ask for the forgiveness of any sin I committed in the past that I am reaping the harvest, in the name of Jesus Christ. 116

I reject every dedication to the river goddess by my parents and I break the covenant with blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus Christ. 7. Every marriage covenant in any river in my town I break it with the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus Christ. 8. By divine judgment, I destroy the power and the inuence of the river goddess over my life, in the name of Jesus Christ. 9. I command every evil deposited of the marine spirit in my body to be uprooted by the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ. 10. Every dedication and covenant to olokun or marine altar, I reject and break it with the blood of Jesus in the name of Jesus Christ. 11. I command whatever the devil is using in my father's house, as a platform to oppress me to be nullied by the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus Christ. 12. CHAPTER ELEVEN DREAM Dream is a series of images, events and feelings that happen in your mind while asleep. It also means a night vision. Dream is activities taking place in the spirit world which has inuence in the physical realm of existence. There are three sources of dream which I want to explain because many people in the world today have acted erroneously due to the fact that they have little or no knowledge about dreams. Dream from God One of the sources of dream is from God. Because of our inability to perceive when God speaks to us in the day time, He decides to speak to us in the dream at times. The purpose God speak to His children through dream is either to give us instructions about future event, to protect us, to bless us or to deliver us from destruction. Job 33:14-18: For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a 120

Dream dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword Dream from man Another source of dream is from man. This type of dream is orchestrated by many things that pre-occupy the mind of a man due to the activities that took place in the day time. This kind of dream has neither positive nor negative impact in the life of the dreamer. Ecc. 5:3) For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and fool's voice [is known] by multitude of words. (Isaiah 29:8) It shall even be as when an hungry [man] dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, [he is] faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that ght against mount Zion. Dream from Satan Another source of dream is from the devil. The purpose of Satan bringing such dream to man is to steal, to kill and to destroy (John 10:10). The God of Justice complaint; Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terriest me through visions: So that my soul chooseth strangling, [and] death rather than my life. We can clearly see from the above scripture that the major purpose of satanic dream is to strangulate the destiny of man and to cause death. Most of the satanic activities to bring calamity in the life of a man are being carried out in the dream. Satanic dream has negative effect in the life of a man if not checked and that is the reason I want to emphasise on the satanic dreams. Witchcraft spirit activities This is one of the spirits that operates behind the idols of our ancestors. Those who came from families where they used to worship idols from the rst to the fourth generation either from the father or mother linage in the past need to undergo prayer of deliverance in order to avert the judgment of God and the inuence of the witchcraft spirit in their lives (Ex.20:4-5). Even if the idols have been removed in a family, because a covenant has been established in the past, this spirit would still be in operation. The inanimate object called idol is just a mere point of contact between the ancestor and the devil. Exodus 23:32-33: Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. (33)They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee. The Lord has warned that one should not engage in idolatry 122

Dream because it will be a snare to such a person. Many people are under the snare of witchcraft spirit as a result of the covenant their ancestors made with idols. Dream · When your dream is always opposite the witchcraft spirit is in operation. For example some people when they see themselves receiving money in the dream, physically throughout that period money will be scares in their hands. · Climbing hills in the dream with heavy loads without being able to cross over. This is why Job said, \"When I say, My bed will comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint; Then you scare me with dreams, and terrify me with visions: So that my soul chooses strangling, and death rather than my life\"(Job7:13-15). What Job is saying is that the devil scares him with evil dreams in order to make him choose death rather than life. The Lord has given us power that whatever we bind on earth is bound in heaven and whatever we lose here on earth is loosed in heaven (Matt.16:19). He also said \"can two walk together, unless they are agreed\" (Amos 3:3). Whatever you see in your dream from the devil is a suggestion for you to accept his will, therefore reject it and bind the spirit behind it. If it refuses to stop meet your pastor for prayers of deliverance. Ones you undergo deliverance, you will discover that these negative or satanic activities will stop in your dream and things will change for the better. PRAYER 1. CHAPTER TWELVE ENEMY AT THE GATE Isaiah 60:11: Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that [men] may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and [that] their kings [may be] brought. There is a gate to every man's life and until the gate of your life is opened, nobody patronizes you. Hence the Lord says: \"Therefore thy gates shall be open continually…\" When the gate of your life is opened, good things will begin to ow into your life or locate you. Men will bring to you the forces (wealth) of the Gentiles. Many people cannot receive favour, pleasantry, or good offer from people because the gates of their lives have been shut or besieged by the enemy spiritually. 2kings 6:24-25: And it came to pass after this, that Ben-hadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. {25} And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was [sold] for fourscore [pieces] of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for ve [pieces] of silver. 131

The God of Justice There was a great famine in Samaria to the extent that it resulted to cannibalism because Ben-hadad king of Syria besieged Samaria. When good things are owing into your life, customers patronizing you or having favour in your ofce and destiny helpers locating you, it is an indication that your gate is open. If all of a sudden these good things are no longer owing into your life, it means that the enemy has besieged the gate of your life either spiritually or physically. I have seen people either in the ofce, market place, or family, whenever good thing are to be given to them, some individuals will kick against it without any cogent reason. These individuals are being used by Satan to besiege the gate of their lives so that good things do not come into their lives. 2Samuel 15:2: And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city [art] thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. David was the king sitting on his throne, in the palace, but Absalom was always at the gate of the palace. All the homages and appreciations for justice were being diverted at the gate. David was just occupying position but his wallet was very dry. This could be someone sitting in his ofce, shop, or anyone in any capacity with empty treasury without knowing that the enemy is at the gate of his life. 132

Enemy At The Gate 2Samuel 15:5-6: And it was [so,] that when any man came nigh [to him] to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. {6} And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. Absalom was at the gate and as such stole the heart of all the people of Israel. Once the heart of the people that supposed to patronize or help you in life such as your customers, your boss your subjects or spouse is stolen, you are nished because you will be isolated. Absalom stole the heart of his subjects, his honour, his benets, his dignity and wealth. Another way that the gate can be closed against someone is the mind of people. Absalom closed the mind of the people against David and open it to himself therefore his father was neglected. Until the hearts of the people are open to you, nobody would offer you anything good. Until you are able to deal with the devil stealing the heart of your destiny helpers, you will nd it very difcult to get favour from them. Acts 16:14-15: And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard [us:] whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. {15} And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought [us,] saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide [there.] And she constrained us. 133

The God of Justice No matter how pleasant your product or idea is, if God has not opened the heart of people for you, they will not listen or buy your idea. When the Lord opened the heart of Lydia, she paid attention to the message of Apostle Paul and pleaded to them to accept her hospitality. When people's heart are open for you not only that your request will not be turned down, they will also implore you to accept their generosity. Before you approach anyone for help, approach God rst \"A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven\" (John 3:27).When God open the gate of your life or the heart of people to you, success becomes inevitable. At this point location does not matter anymore. The Lord said to Elijah \"Arise go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon and dwell there, see I have mandated a widow there to provide for you (1 Kings 17:9). When Elijah got there the widow did not turn his request down in spite of her condition because the Lord had opened her heart to make provision for him. The Lord is the one that has the authority to open the door of your life. I declare that today as you go into prayer, the Lord will raise a standard against every siege at the gate of your life and open the heart of your destiny helpers, in the name of Jesus Christ. Rev.3:7: And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man 134

CHAPTER THIRTEEN RELEASE YOURSELF In most cases, human beings are quick to point accusing nger on other people whenever there is a problem in their lives. If there is something wrong in your life or a lingered ordeal you are the rst suspect. The hardest problem is the ones we are ignorantly creating by ourselves. If you are not ready to release yourself there is no man of God that can set you free, irrespective of the anointing he carries. When Jesus met the man at the pool of Bethesda, He said to him \"…Do you want to be made well?\" (John5:6). The Lord asked this question because the man has been there for thirty Eight years without solution to his problem. There are many things we do that either retain the problem or empower the enemy to keep oppressing us. Wrong mind set Mind-set is an assumption, methods, or notation held by someone or more people. It is ones collection of thoughts and beliefs. We should be careful not to have negative or wrong mind-set 139

The God of Justice because it shapes our lives and the actions we take. The quality of your mind set determines the quality of your life. The man at the pool of Bethesda had a wrong mind-set, when the Lord asked him \"are you ready to be made whole? He said I have no one to help me. His mind set was that as long as he has no helper he would not be healed from his ailment. John 5:6-7: When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time [in that case,] he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? {7} The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Many people are in this situation today. Their mind set is that in as much as there is no one to help them in life, they can never succeed. Thus they forget that the Almighty God is, \"A very present help in the time of trouble\" (Psalm 46:1). Also, they forget the talent God has given to them to excel in life. The man remained at the pool for thirty eight years because of his wrong mind-set. If there is no one to help you, rely on the Lord and help yourself. Prov.23:7: For as he thinketh in his heart, so [is] he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. Prov. 27:19: As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man. Someone can be in bondage of his mind. The life we live can never be better than our mind set and we can never rise above our mind set. Hence the Lord said \"it is what comes out of a man's heart that 140

Release Yourself dees him\"(Matt.15:18,19). I was praying for a brother and I was wondering why there was delay in answer to his prayer, only to discover one day the cause of his problem. He said to me that he was reincarnated by his grandfather who happens to be a witch doctor. How could such a man with such a wrong mind set be better than his grandfather? What this means is that his life has been pattern after the grandfather's destiny. There is no how such a person's life can be better than his late father's status. Bitterness Bitterness is dened as anger and disappointment at being treated unfairly. It is synonymous with resentment and envy. Cain becomes consumed by bitterness for his brother and God, when he feels unjustly treated relatives to his prosperous brother Abel. Cain damns God and kills his brother out of hatred and envy that emanated from bitterness and as such receives divine judgment. Simon the sorcerer was one of those that live in bitterness in the Bible. He is one who deceives, manipulates and delights to control others and does so by demonic enablement. Simon the sorcerer was among those that believed the gospel and was baptized (Acts 8:13). However he was not delivered from his past deception and manipulation over people. He was still under the inuence of the devil. He offered the Apostles money to obtain the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts8:18, 19). Peter identied the basis of Simon's sorcery as bitterness which is the deepening effect of unforgiveness. 141

The God of Justice Acts 8:23: For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. The vulnerability of unforgiveness is that when we tolerate or embrace it, at the end it may poison and blind the soul, ultimately corrupting everything around it. In Simon's case, his bitterness shaped his passion to control or manipulate others, which prompted his quest to purchase the power to impact the gift of the Holy Spirit. Though having believed and being baptized, the residue of his past bondage surfaces as he unworthily seeks the power to manipulate others for self-exalting purposes. Peter discerns the root of his bondage and summons Simon to repentance and deliverance. Acts 8:22: Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. Forgiving others from our heart ushes out the poison of unforgiveness in our soul with power of the cross. Someone that is living in bitterness cannot ow with the Holy Spirit because it grieves Him (Holy Spirit) (Eph.4:30-32). We should avoid and put away every form of bitterness so that we can have fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Symptoms of bitterness are Anger, envy, Jealousy complaining, and murmuring, criticism, and sadness etc. The danger of un-forgiveness: The danger of unforgiveness is that rst it gives room to divine judgment. Christ emphasised on the consequence of inability to forgive our fellow human beings. Jesus told us a parable of 142

The same servant saw his fellow servant who owed him and refused to forgive him despite that his fellow servant had pleaded for forgiveness. When it was reported to his master what he did to his fellow servant then he said to him' Matthew 18:33-35: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? {34} And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. {35} So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses. His master was not happy with him for what he did and therefore delivered him to the tormentors. He delivered him into the hand of the enemy to attack and oppress him. In this parable the master is God and the servant refers to us Gods children. Therefore we are expected to forgive one another as God is faithful to have forgiven us and to forgive us whenever we fall into temptation (1John1:9). If we fail to forgive we will face the judgement of God. Hence He said \"So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses\". Many people are under divine judgement of satanic attack and oppression as a result of unforgiveness. There is no amount of prayer of any man of God that can deliver such a person except such a person decides to forgive from his/her heart, then he will be delivered from divine judgment. 143

The God of Justice Secondly, unforgiveness hinders answer to ones prayers. Whenever you forgive anyone, you are doing yourself good not the person you forgive. Mark 11:24: Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. The Lord says that whenever we pray we should believe because there will denitely be answer therefore the only thing that can hinder our prayer not to be answered is unforgiveness. Mark 11:25: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. {26} But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. One of the ways to allow God of justice to avenge for us is to forgive and to do good to our enemies then the God of vengeance will ght for you. The scripture says when you do good to them you are heaping coals of re on their head. Romans 12:19- 20: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. {20} Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of re on his head. 144

Release Yourself Covering ones sin Covering of ones sin is covering or accommodating the devil because he is the architect of sin. So, if you want the devil out of your life expose him. 1john 3:8: He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. The devil hate light hence all his evil works are done at night, therefore, whenever you reveal your sins you expose the devil to light and he will ee because darkness is his nature. Proverb28:13: He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. John 3:19-21: And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. {20} For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. {21} But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. Everyone in sin or covering his sin is in darkness and such person is under divine judgment of condemnation. Whenever you are covering your sin you are hiding or accommodating the devil. Devil does not like the light because his evil works can only survive in the darkness. Whenever one confesses his/her sin and reunites 145

The God of Justice with Christ- the light, the devil is rendered powerless and as such he will ee. 1John 1:6-9: If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:{7} But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. {8} If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. {9} If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have no sin and cover our sin we are walking in darkness. We cannot be walking in darkness and have fellowship with Him (Christ) simultaneously. When we confess our sin the devil is exposed and off. As we begin to walk in the light, as He is light, we have fellowship with Him and His blood cleanses us from all sin. FEAR 2 Tim.1:7: For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Fear is not the spirit of God; it is of the devil therefore it must be dealt with. We must pray against it before it rubs us off the blessing of God. Fear relinquishes ones authority and empowers the enemy to have dominion over the victim of fear. One of the major things that fear does is that it reduces ones spiritual and natural immunity. When your immunity is down, 146

Release Yourself you become prone to all satanic attacks and diseases. What you fear is what you attract. If you are afraid of the devil or anything it will take over you or have dominion over you. Job 3:25: For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me. School children went for an excursion at Tin Can Island Port, immediately they approach the see shore they all sighted a mighty ship trying to board. Some of the students were excited and started rejoicing but one of them became afraid he could not stand the sight of the ship anymore then he fainted. The students were enjoying the money paid by their parents for the excursion while the other student could not because of fear. He wasted the money his parents paid. In the same vein, as many Christians are enjoying the benets of the price Jesus Christ paid on the cross, many have come short of it as a result of fear. Pride Pride is dened as an inordinate self-esteem, and unreasonable feeling of superiority as to one's talent, beauty, wealth, rank and so forth. Someone's pride can keep him in bondage and failure forever unless he deals with it. God hates pride and as such resists the proud (Proverb 8:13, James 4:6), because they do not depend or seek God (Psalm 10:4). Pride is Gods enemy. It was pride that brought Lucifer down, from his exalted position to the lowest depths of the 147

The God of Justice pit (Isaiah 14:12-15). If God resists you because of your pride, you cannot enjoy His blessings or the benets of His salvation. In the absence of God in one's life, satan takes over. Child of God, deal with your pride before it ruins your destiny. Murmuring and complain 1 Cor.10:9-10: Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. {10} Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. God detest murmuring and complain among His children. The reason is that Murmuring is an act of whispering over a particular thing without speaking out while complaining is an act of protest. Whenever we murmur or complain, we are tempting or protesting against the Lord. Consequently, it attracts the wrath of God and causes divine judgment. In the book of Numbers, the children of Israel murmured and complain against the Lord and Moses and as such they received the judgment of God. Numbers 21:5-6: And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. {6} And the LORD sent ery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. 148
