Global Footprints “Leadership is not an ACT, it’s a mindset” When I was in the 2nd semester of B.tech engineering from PIET, I was introduced to this organization that used to send people abroad. Soon I went under the HR process of the organization and got into the organization. But I was clueless about why I am here and what will I do here. As I mentioned earlier only thing that excites me about this was an international exchange and I went for it to Indonesia ID. I went for this exchange and this exchange taught me a lot of lessons. And the best one being “Freedom is not just about being independent, It gets a lot of responsibilities” There I worked on an entrepreneurship project and with a teaching student project. The experience thereof living like a local for 6 weeks Chitransh Mathur and then participating in the project was another learning President at AIESEC in Jaipur experience with people of 12-15 different countries who come with a different mindset and when you interact with them, it gets you all the different angle you can look up to in a particular situation. That exchange gave me a reason for what I have to do in this organisation and how I can get bene it out of it. For the exchange, we have a tagline and it says “Live The Experience” & after the exchange, I truly understand what does that mean. With time, I started climbing up the ladder and applied for different positions. In 2020 I applied to be the Vice President of Business Development for AIESEC In Jaipur and I became one, this term taught me resilience because the irst 3 months were normal and then pandemic happened, everything went virtual. So adapting such situations and getting opportunities to the membership was my role and I got them so opportunities in and outside the organization to let them develop to the best they can. I ended up my Vice President term delivering two successful & impactful virtual events and getting much bene icial partnership for the local chapter. Then 2021 I went to apply for President of AIESEC In Jaipur in an elective process and that how I got into this role & being the irst President for AIESEC In Jaipur from Poornima. This role has taught me a lot from working with world-class client and MNCs to understanding every strength and weakness of the Local Chapter and working on it. President of the pioneering local chapter of AIESEC in India. Directly managing 200 Individuals in a multi hierarchy setting in the ields of the corporate sector(IT, BA, marketing, business development, sales and HR) with companies like TCS, Eros, Roseate, and Lenskart and social sector(Education, poverty, women empowerment, IT, health, animal rights etc) along with managing a back- of ice workforce of inance, marketing and HR. The organisation also helps village development and facilitates cross-cultural exchanges to empower young people to take their irst step of becoming a leader. That's all that I do all together and because of this organisation which has given me so much that I will never be able to return the favours of it. In the end, as I said that leadership is not an act, it's a mindset and you will develop this mindset coming into the organization and experiencing leadership very closely. To all the junior from the college, I would to keep on applying to. get into AIESEC it will make you stand out of the crowd. Lead. Activate. Engage. Develop that is what you are going to do here. “Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength.” Kritesh Maheshwari Vice-President Finance & Legal at AIESEC in Jaipur These words couldn’t be more accurate in describing my AIESEC journey. I began this eventful and exciting journey on 8th August 2018 when I saw an AIESEC poster in my college for the very irst time. I did not know much, so I went back home and did my own research to understand what this organization was all about and their vision could not have been more aligned with mine. They wanted to build leaders for tomorrow and I wanted to be one of them. But the road to leadership wasn’t that easy. My irst interaction and interview process was unsuccessful as I missed it being absent on the same day that it was conducted, post that I tried again but did not get through the group discussion but I was waiting for yet another chance to pave my way in and so it happened. I inally cleared the process and joined as a member in iGV. This was followed by RYLC, a conference which helped me come out of my bubble and connect with people outside my comfort zone. Those activities initiated interactions, brainstorming and communication with people from unique backgrounds and diverse cultures. My skills were re ined and soon my weaknesses became strengths as I started connecting with exchange partners around the globe. For a person who could not communicate in a group of people easily, this was a new space and learning opportunity. The leaders could not have been more supportive, as they selected me for Organization Committee at National Leadership development summit. This was by far the most crazy yet empowering experience for me. That week gave me the con idence boost which was much needed to lead a group of people. This made me apply for Team Leader at iGV which brought a management level learning for me. It made me understand how to build synergies to develop a team that works together and delivers well. This learning went up a notch as I became the Vice President Finance and Legal for LC Jaipur this year. From learning basics of inance to completing audits, from being an introvert and shy guy to a con ident leader, from being a member to leading a team, AIESEC has truly imparted what it had mentioned in its mission.
