Decorative & Architectural Technical Data Sheet D315-STD (Rev 1/2021) PRODUCT NAME: PENETRATING LIQUID General Surface Preparation & Directions for Use Remove all loose and peeling paint with scrapers or high pressure rinse. Surface must be dry before application of this product. Use plastic or rubber gloves and goggles to protect the hands and eyes. Restrict application to an area not more than 2000 cm2. (approx. 2 ft2) at a time. Flow on a heavy coat, using a soft brush and stroking in one direction only. Allow Paint Remover to remain on surface, for 5 - 15 mins, until the coating is completely blistered before attempting to remove. Further applications may be necessary with some tough coatings. Use paint scraper/wire wool to remove the loosened coating while flushing with water. Finally abrade the surface free of all residues and allow drying. CAUTION: Do not shake can. Avoid contact with skin or eyes which may be irritated. Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of vapor or contact with skin. Contact with flame or hot surface may produce toxic gases. Use with adequate ventilation. Wash thoroughly after using. If contact results in stinging or smarting, flush skin or eyes with plenty of water. Ensure the surface is dry and cleaned free of all dust, dirt, mortar splashed and other debris. Fill any cracks, crevices, hole, etc. with Kaleidoscope Pol-Y-Fil. Ensure that any source of water seepage is stopped completely and the surface allowed to dry out thoroughly before using Kaleidoscope Alkali Sealer. The following drying times should be allowed before applying Kaleidoscope Alkali Sealer. Solid poured concrete 6-10 months Brick Walls 3- 5 months Old walls-new cement rendering 3-4 weeks Thin with up to one pint Kaleidoscope 2000 Thinners per gallon before application. Brush on two coats to very strong alkaline surfaces. Allow over night drying between applications. Touch dry 3-4 hours. CAUTION: Use only with adequate ventilation. It is recommended that poured concrete be allowed to dry for at least 28 days. Apply one coat of Kaleidoscope Emulsion Sealer. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Remove all wax and polish, grease and grime with cloth moistened with a mild detergent solution or solvent. Remove any flaking previous coating to a sound substrate with scraper. CONVENTIONAL SPRAY: Satisfactory through most equipment. AIRLESS SPRAY: A typical set up for airless spray application would be a minimum working pressure on paint of 133 bars (2000 lb/sq in) with a spray tip size O.46mm (18 thou) and a spray tip angle 65°. After use, remove as much paint as possible from brushes before cleaning with clean water. Do not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost. Thinning: Do not thin this product. Then apply 1 coat of Kaleidoscope Anti- Corrosive Roof Paint 16 – 18 hrs, after priming. Second coat should be applied 16-18 hrs, after the first coat is applied. PREVIOUSLY painted surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned to remove any accumulation of dirt, grease or flaking material. Rusted areas should be replaced or treated with Kaleidoscope Rust Converter and spot primed with Kaleidoscope Zinc Chromate Primer and allowed to dry for 16 – 18 hrs, before applying. Then apply one or two coats of Kaleidoscope Anti-Corrosive Roof Paint. For spraying thin with 470ml of Kaleidoscope 2000 Thinners per 3.785 liters. Mop trowel finished concrete floors with a diluted solution of Muratic Acid to provide a good base and allow to dry out thoroughly. In case of wooden floors, putty nail holes, joints, creases and other imperfections and seal all knots with one thin coat of Kaleidoscope Knotting varnish and allow to dry for four hours. Sand lightly then apply one thin coat followed by two coats of Kaleidoscope Floor Epoxy Enamel. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Sand thoroughly too smooth surface and remove all flaking material, grease, wax and polish with Kaleidoscope 2000 Thinners. Apply one or two coats of Kaleidoscope Floor Epoxy Enamel allowing at least 12 hours between coats. Kaleidoscope Floor Epoxy Enamel is packaged ready for use by brush or roller. Remove oil and grease with a mild detergent or with a cloth moistened with solvent. Very smooth concrete surfaces should be etched with a dilute solution of Muriatic Acid and allowed to dry thoroughly. Wooden surfaces ensure that nail holes, joints and other imperfections are filled, seal knots with one coat of Kaleidoscope Knotting Varnish. Sand surface lightly and remove all dust. Apply one thin coat followed by two full coats of Kaleidoscope Latex Flat Floor Paint. PREVIOUSLY PAINTED SURFACES: Remove all wax and polish, grease and grime. Remove all flaking paint, sand to a smooth surface. Ensure that surface is free from all dust. Apply one or two coats of Kaleidoscope Latex Floor Paint as necessary. Apply to a clean dry dust free surface using a brush, roller or spray uniformly. If spraying, keep nozzle 50 cm away from floor surface and ensure complete coverage with no dead spots. Poured concrete must be allowed to cure for at least 60 days, while cement plaster / rendering should cure for 30 days and terrazzo / Grano at least 21 days. Ensure the surface is dry and cleaned free of all dust, dirt, mortar splashed and other debris. Fill any cracks, crevices, holes etc. with Kaleidoscope Pol-Y-Fill or appropriate concrete patch. Ensure that any source of water seepage is stopped completely and the surface is allowed to dry out thoroughly before using Kaleidoscope Ultra Seal Concrete Sealer. EXISTING CONCRETE: Remove all loose debris and patch holes. It is preferred to pressure wash concrete and allow to completely dry before applying Ultra Seal Concrete Sealer. Read label prior to use. Surfaces MUST be free of anything which could adversely affect the adhesion of this coating to the surface including loose, scaling, peeling, blistering, chipping, cracking, flaking, chalking or powdering paint: dust, dirt, sand, soot, grease, oil, tar, wax, soap, film, lye, lime, salt, chlorine, effloresces, or any other chemically reactive substance; and must be completely free of all mold, fungus, mildew or any other growing organism of any kind.
