HINDI DIVAS - POEM RECITATION In each year group, 5 students were selected for the Finals. The competition was judged by a panel of 3 external judges. 3 winners were chosen from each year group.

Story Telling - Junior 3 & 4 The competition was open to all the students. The students had to narrate a story that had thrill and mystery. Students who qualified from each grade took part in the Finals.

StoryTelling-Junior 1 & 2 On 11 April 2021, 22 students participated in the Story Telling Competition. The young, vibrant storytellers came forth with fascinating and amazing tales. Some children provided food for thought and some reinforced moral values.

SPEECH Juniors The theme was Seniors ‘Teachers’. Mrs. Ella, Ms. Mongia and Dr. Shaju judged the competition. 3 winners were selected.

Math Quiz! Senior 1 to 4 The maths quiz was conducted on 18 October 2020. Mrs. Lizy Paul presided over the event.

Juniors The objective of this competition was to promote interest in Mental Math, to test the speed and accuracy of Arithmetic Calculations, and to inspire confidence in students.

G.K Junior 5 Junior 3-6 and Senior 1- 2 students participated in the G.K Quiz which was conducted from October to December 2020. Several elimination rounds were held to choose the finalists. The quiz tested the students on a variety of topics.

Spelling Bee - Junior 1 & 2 Spelling Bee was held for Junior students in April and May 2021.

Spelling Bee Senior 1 - 4 On 10 November 2020, the English Department conducted the Spelling Bee. Elimination Rounds were held to choose 12 students for the Finals. Level 1 - Senior 1 & 2 Level 2 - Senior 3 & 4

Digital Art Digital Art was initiated by the ICT Department to create Mass Media Awareness, which was held on 26 November 2020. 20 artists from Senior 1 participated. Theme: Colours of Life Three eminent IT Professionals judged the Competition.

Med-Athalon 2020 MED-ATHALON 2020 – Speech Contest Finalists AMH planned a set of competitions for schools in Bahrain. The basic focus was on Health Awareness with special emphasis on the ‘Ongoing Pandemic and Beyond.’ 8 students participated in the Quiz and Speech Competition, and 2 in the Short Film Competition. The topic for the Finals was ‘Planet Earth Before Corona and After’

RECITATION Junior 2 Everyone was delighted on seeing their pleasing performance. 3 External Judges judged the competition.

SCIENCEday The Science Department conducted a series of activities during the second week of Feb 2021

The Extempore was held on the 28 of Feb 2021. The English language teachers conducted Elimination Rounds. Six students were selected from each year group. The contestants were given 5 min to prepare. The competition was judged by external judges. It was a grand success.

Elocution was organized for Jr.3 & 4 students on 21 March, 2021. There were 12 participants from each year group. They were judged by 3 external judges. The topics ranged from Covid-19, virtual schooling etc. This enhanced the student’s personality development and public speaking skills. Winners were awarded certificates.

1ST BAHRAIN YOUNG PERFORMERS VIRTUAL FESTIVAL ‘21 Nael de Lara, a Junior 2C student, participated in Level 1 at the first-ever Bahrain Young Performers Virtual Festival 2021. The British School of Bahrain hosted this event that drew students from schools across the Kingdom in Music, Dance, Poetry recitals, and Monologues. Each participant submitted a video of their performance. Nael played a William Gillock composition called Fiesta on the piano. The panel of international adjudicators judged the videos.

Essay Writing : Senior 1 & 2 This activity was organized for Senior 1 & 2 students on 27 March, 2021. 6 students participated. They were asked to write a Personal Narrative on the topic ‘Survival.’ The word limit given was 350 – 400 words.

SOLO SINGING Junior 3 & 4 “Words make you think. Music makes you feel. A song makes you feel a thought.”

SSOOLLOO SSIINNGGIINNGG JJuUnNioIOr R5 &5 &6 6 Through singing, children learn to express their feelings and ideas. To bring out the singing talent of the students, the Competition was organized on 11 April & 21 May 2021.

SOLO SINGING SENIOR 1,2 & 3 The Competition was judged by External judges who were impressed with the talent of the participants.

MATH WIZARD SENIOR 1- 4 Math teachers held several elimination rounds to select the best 30 students for the finals. The students had to answer 20 questions in 20 min. No calculators were allowed. Each student had to WhatsApp his / her answers immediately after answering the quiz. The math quiz was conducted year-wise. The quiz consisted of 2 Levels. Level 1 – Senior 1 & 2 Level 2 – Senior 3 & 4
