Posters: II. ENACTUS ENACTUS REC, a social entrepreneurship club of Rajalakshmi Engineering College, believes in investing in students who take Entrepreneurial ACTion for others thus creating a better world for US all. The idea of bringing about a concrete change in our society without clinging onto to the tag of ‘charity’ led to the inception of Enactus REC in 2006. Every earthly soul would indeed be happy to be a part of their own success, to know that what they have is a fruit of their hard work and not something that came by charity. Hence, we at ENACTUS REC tickle and channel the ingenuine entrepreneurial skills that had been lying dormant within the youth to set up business models for the economically challenged thus bridging the gap across communities. ~ 171 ~ Rajalakshmi Engineering College – Revista 2021-22

ENACTRY’21 (April 25th, 2021) The Enactus club of Rajalakshmi Engineering College, organized Enactry'21, an engaging online event for the students of the college on 25th April 2021. The aim was to provide everyone with a platform where they can try out their basic entrepreneurial skills, along with a few offline events where technical aspects were touched upon. From Hackathons to product photography to creating taglines for our own products, the students gained a lot of knowledge. In the live online event, the activities were keenly focused on communication, critical thinking, and speaking skills. Overall, it was a mini carnival through virtual mode. GET SOCIAL (MAY 2021) Get social was a fun and interactive event with a budding entrepreneur Bhushita Ahuja. Bhushita Ahuja is a 16-year-old Author, Social Entrepreneur & Motivational Speaker. She is the co-founder of Samvedna Foundation through which she teaches 350+ underprivileged kids chess. She’s previously spoken about Social Entrepreneurship at various Delhi University colleges & has been invited as a speaker by corporates such as IRCTC & Tech Mahindra. Bhushita has created 4 world records with her work and she’s also been awarded The Women of Excellence Award by The Indian Achievers Forum. She strongly feels that age is just a number, intent is what matters. MINDCOLOGY (MAY 2021) Enactus REC organized Mindcology, a webinar on \"general awareness on mental health\" to tell the participants that we are in this together and will get through this pandemic together. We invited Ms.Varalakshmi, a Covid-19 patients' counselor in Rajiv Gandhi government hospital. The webinar focused on how life has changed and how we are trying to adjust ourselves to the new normal. Having so many random thoughts that haunt us and feeling anxious has become common. The motto of the event was that the more we speak the more we normalize the social stigma around mental health. ENACTUS NATIONALS (AUGUST-2021) A nationwide competition where ENACTUS organizations of various educational institutions come forward to put forth their projects based on social entrepreneurship was conducted from 14th Aug- 21st Aug 2021. There are 2 stages in Nationals namely Early-Stage Competition (ESC) and Matured stage Competition (MSC), where projects that are implemented come under MSC whereas those which are in the ideation stage come under ESC. From ENACTUS REC, Project SAKE, which focuses on personal protection by making use of masks, sanitizers etc., in these pandemic times was presented as MSC while Project KAAGITH which focuses on Waste Paper Upcycling by making them into products such as pens, pots, etc., was presented in ESC. FIESTA'21 TECHNICAL DESIGN CONTEST (September 2021) The Technical design contest was conducted among our fresh recruits to bring out their designing and technical skills. The competition was to design posters on the theme \"What Engineering means to you\". A duration of three days was given for the submission of the posters. Many recruits actively participated and showcased their creativity. All the submissions were put as a story on our Instagram handle to encourage the participants. Winners of the competition were given a shout-out on the Enactus REC Instagram page. ~ 172 ~ Rajalakshmi Engineering College – Revista 2021-22

SAKE - REC Stall (September) Our Rajalakshmi Engineering College and the Sriperumbudur government hospital have collaborated for a vaccination drive from 2nd September - 4th September. We from Enactus REC as a club had put up stalls to sell the safety products through project sake. During these days we talked about the need for safety products and about Enactus as a club along with what Project SAKE is all about. Students, staff, and faculty members were our primary customers. The revenue collected will be used for our next Project KAAGITH and directly to the beneficiaries of this Project. SAKE 1L MILESTONE- OCTOBER Our project SAKE was running successfully. Schools and colleges were opened after a long time with safety regulations. To create awareness and at the same time to make students and teachers wear masks, we introduced new products like surgical color masks, embroidery, and printed cotton masks. This led to a great increase in sales. We had put up stalls in our college that also increased our sales. So by this month, we have made an incredible achievement. That is we have reached a milestone of one lakh rupees revenue. BENEFICIARIES - OCTOBER In Enactus, to find beneficiaries for our ongoing project we conducted a beneficiary’s contest in which we got overwhelmed responses. This event was helpful in finding people who are in need of help to sustain their daily life. We ourselves and our recruits had a great experience in speaking to different kinds of people living in different places with different needs. Through this event, we found a set of three beneficiaries who are ready to help us with our ongoing SAKE project. IDEA CONTEST - (November to December 2021): Enactus REC organized an \"IDEA CONTEST” online brainstorming event with our recruits from 12/11/2021 to 13/12/2021. The contest aims to make the recruits brainstorm with new project ideas so that we can take their projects to Nationals with our existing projects. The project ideas had been taken from eight different waste management-related domains. All the teams had been allotted a specific number of mentors to help them with their ideas. On the final day of idea submission out of eight teams, three teams (Paper Waste management- Kaagith, Flower waste management- ~ 173 ~ Rajalakshmi Engineering College – Revista 2021-22

Ikebana, Plastic waste management- Plact) had been selected to present in nationals. Finally, the recruits had mingled to work on the selected project ideas for nationals. NEW YEAR NEW PROJECT With this New Year, we started working on two of our new projects called IKEBANA and PLACT. IKEBANA basically focuses on uplifting the flower vendor community and at the same time, we make sure our rivers and oceans are not polluted with organic waste. We have finished our research work and have taken the survey. We have been focusing mainly on our target audience's needs. We ran a pilot test. It was a grand success. Customers loved our idea of having beeswax candles for their organic nature and appealing hand craftsmanship. Also, they loved our different floral scents which were very light. We also make organic floral-resin keychains. Our customers love the idea of using dry flowers as scrubs. Dried flowers often retain the same beauty benefits that your fresh bouquet came with. Our next project PLACT mainly deals with recycling plastic waste. This was started as an awareness project for ocean pollution. By recycling and reusing plastic raw materials and fashioning them into other products, consumers can effectively reduce plastic space taken up in ocean and landfills that can be used for biodegradable materials to save the environment. Recycling plastic helps keep it out of landfills and also helps the environment. SERIES- THE RIGHT HOUR LAUNCH Enactus Rec launched a series ‘The Right Hour’ on 25th January 2022.
