COLLEGE ACHIEVEMENTS  Dr. (Mrs.) Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Institutions, has been presented Navasakthi award by Sri Sankara TV, for her contribution in the field of education.  REC is ranked at 110 in the (NIRF) ranking of MHRD in 2021.  For being in the Top 100 local chapters, for 7 consecutive semesters since 2016, NPTEL has awarded REC as an LC STAR Institute.  Three Patents have been granted, more than 60 patents under review at various stages [published 42 ]  FIST Gramt of 1.37 crores – sophisticated analytical instrumentation lab for Bio science.  Nehru Fulbright Specialist Program – Dr.Bruce K Gale- visited our campus [28/3/22 to 8/4/22]  Creation of 15 Centres of Excellence  International conference on Energy, Smart Structure and Manufacturing was organized by the Departments of Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automobile and Civil Engineering on 23rd April 2022  Third International Conference on Engineeing Digital Green Era (EDGE-22) was organized by the Departments of CSE, IT, AI&ML, CSBS, ECE and BME on 29th & 30th April 2022 ~ 190 ~ Rajalakshmi Engineering College – Revista 2021-22

STAR-STUDDED WOMEN’S DAY PROGRAMME CELEBRATED ON 11TH MARCH 2022 Rajalakshmi Institutions celebrated International Women's Day on March 11, 2022 at The Southern India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) by honouring the accomplishments of a group of highly motivated and successful women across various professions. The event witnessed eminent women sharing their experiences and encouraging the next generation of women to strive to be the best in their desired paths of life. The eight guests of honour were presented with awards for their achievements in the fields of medicine, media, architecture, entrepreneurship, information technology and health. The college band, Unison, got the celebrations started with a series of covers of popular songs that were well received by all the guests of honour as well as the students and faculty in attendance. ~ 191 ~ Rajalakshmi Engineering College – Revista 2021-22

The welcome address was delivered by Mr.V.N. Shiva Shankar, Vice President, SICCI& Founder, VNS Legal. Dr. Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Institutions, set the tone for the day in her opening address which promoted a simple, yet powerful message: “Education should add value to your family and society to empower women to perform better”. Dr. Thangam Meganathan proceeded to highlight the role of education in moulding the future of Indian women by recognising the wide pool of talent available in the country. She also emphasised the growing role of women in contributing to the GDP of the country. The chairperson concluded her address by paying a tribute to all the hardworking and sincere women in India and the role they play as the guardians of our society. The video presentation on women achievers was an eye-opener for young and aspiring students, to come up in their life. The guests of honour who were present in the event were Mr. V.N. Jecintha Lazarus, IAS , Commissioner, Rehabilitation and Welfare of Non- Resident Tamils, Government of Tamilnadu and Ms. Lise Talbot Barre, Consul General of France to Puducherry and Chennai. The following women were awarded with the Rajalakshmi Awards for Eminent Woman Acheiver 2022. Each of renowned speakers outlined the path through which they overcame obstacles in their respective professions to achieve the feat. They also motivated the students and encouraged them about their personal growth and achieving balance in one's life. The event was a true celebration of women who have broken down the barriers and excelled in their professions and also inspiring others around them.
