Our Voice : Student Corner MY HAPPY EXPERIENCES AT POORNIMA Last year in 2021, I was quite confused whether I have made the right choice or not by choosing Poornima as a crucial part of my life for the next four years but fortunately, now I’m proud of the decision I made. I desired for a new path of living and I realized that I got what I needed. Poornima University provided me with a lot of exposure which helped me in growing at my best way possible. Everything that can be done for the betterment of students is practiced at Poornima University. Students’ grievances are heard and solved immediately. There is no delay in the proper functioning of anything. Poornima University is known for its disciplined education system but along with education, extracurricular activities are paid equal attention to keeping the comfort of each student in mind. The architecture and ambience of my university are too comforting. Teachers and senior dignitaries of the University make each and every student feel like home. Unlike many universities, students can have a direct two-way interaction with any higher authority they want. Altogether, Poornima University proved as a very welcoming place. There are many international students who are taken proper care of in university as well as in hostels. My personal experience has been amazing. Luckily, I got a great group of friends which many students struggle to find. I always enjoy fluent interaction with all my professors. I never struggled with anything as my HOD was always there to help the students. I actively participated and grabbed ample opportunities and even won prizes. I discovered many hidden talents of mine and I am still on a journey towards discovering more. I scored well which was a major reason for my happy experience at Poornima University. I made many good relations with friends, seniors, and professors. Coming from a different state, I learnt a lot about the Rajasthani culture from my fellow mates. An entire year passed so briskly and I experienced and learned so many new things for which enormous credit goes to Poornima University. While talking about university, I cannot forget about the most remarkable event i.e., the annual fest “Lakshya”. Those three days of campus stay, was the most memorable time. It’s the biggest celebration for everyone. Each and every person on the campus whether be it students or faculty members seems excited about this. There are numerous events being organized and active participation can be witnessed by students. The dancing, the singing, the lights, the arrangements, the food, and more importantly, the fun memories with my friends are what make college fest the most memorable part of my first year. Other than the dancing, singing, and extravaganza, the prizes for winners in sports, entertainment, academics, extracurricular and co-curricular activities are distributed to students. I was a part of the runner-up team of the fest and holding that trophy was a really unforgettable moment. Since past many years, I wanted to be a part of an NGO and dedicate a part of my life towards the impoverished ones and this dream of mine got fulfilled because of Poornima Pathshala which opened heavenly doors for university students to teach underprivileged children in need. Now, for me, Poornima is more like my home. My experience at university has been far beyond my expectations. I went on hiking as well as on early morning walks with my friends. I ended my first year by enrolling myself in many courses provided by the university. My two semesters have been absolutely remarkable with many ups and downs. I was introduced to many national and international educational webinars. I even got an opportunity to sit in a hiring challenge organized by Tata Group and that too in my first semester just because of Poornima. I even got an invitation for attending the ‘Australian Education Exhibition’ at Hotel Marriott. University life is a wonderful opportunity to adapt ourselves towards new experiences. It’s the best place to discover ourselves. And, the sooner one discovers, the better they perform in future. BANSHIKA BANKER 199 Issue : X B.TECH, I-YEAR Poornima Spectrum 2021-22
Our Voice : Student Corner Social Media: The Voice of the Unheard With the availability of internet to large sections of the society and with that the ultimate power gained by the society of posting their opinions on the social media platforms to make them public, brought a huge wave of digitalization which was very well welcomed by almost all the communities but there were some who were left out of this huge wave of change. There has always been a debate between right and wrong when it comes to a change, especially when it has the power to change the whole world. Same goes with digitalization, we have all seen that people got the ability to speak out on social, political, cultural , demographic issues which affected a large section of the society and at the end, presented some topics of debate that prove to be crucial and could go deep under the root cause of the problem. Even though we have seen substantial evidence of the power possessed by social media platforms there has always been a question “are we actually asking the questions that we need to ask or its just for the sake of exercising the power we possess”. We have seen that there has always been a section of the society that has been separated out of the entire population because of many social and cultural reasons but that to internet they have got a voice of their own through which they can speak up participate in social media debates, talk about political problems , post opinions that actually matter , create social media attachments that are well followed and create a community of their own which can walk with their heads held high. But there are always two sides of the coin, many people use social media platforms for spreading negativity and hatred towards topics they didn’t even know about which makes the genuine social media followers difficult to differentiate between honest and biased opinions. Social media opinions and arguments have always been the backbone of a healthy social media debate on prevailing topics and any underlying biasness can cause excessive hatred even towards the genuine side. Internet has provided many opportunities to the young generation in different areas like creativity , business and many other areas, social media platforms like tik Tok , snapchat , Instagram has encouraged young people to be more creative and become social media influencers and in the recent times their community has grown exponentially, on the other hand platforms like LinkedIn helps people to become career guides , profession influencers and to network with people with similar interests and platforms like twitter helps people to put forward their opinions and to react on certain prevailing topics and to debate about right or wrong. Social media has helped many communities to grow and prosper, communities like the startup community, community of socially backward people, LGBTQ community and with the help of social media, these communities have become a major part of the overall development of a society that supports free speech , gender equality , non-racism At the end, we can say that social media has many upsides as well as downsides but as we say “beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder” many people find social media interesting , entertaining , full of enthusiasm on the other hand many find it disturbing , irritating , full of negativity but we all know and we have already discussed that every coin has two sides and exploring the negative side provides perspective , knowledge , information and collective opinion while exploring the positive side provides fun , entertainment , relief and motivation. Our Voice : Student Corner Poetry Deserves Poetic Justice Poetic justice is to do justice with language and its literature. We value words but we don't know much about language be it Hindi, Urdu, or English. Language has left people lingering on their knees, it brought chaos into people and divided the nations but it's also the language that has brought the hearts together and built the relationship of faith and trust. In an unknown country when you see somebody speaking your language melts the muddy ice out of your soul. The world has witnessed some great poets who did justice with language and its poetry Jaun, Mirza, Meer, and Jaush malihabadi are just to name a few. Moreover, Indian poetry has a long and rich history I will not take you to the past, I just want each person who is reading this article to just read Urdu Poet Jaun Elia once in their Life. You will know what Poetry is. What makes him special is the way he sums up everything in just a few lines. Poetry has fascinated me since my childhood, for me, it's an art of winning the hearts of people. I remember as a child I was so passionate about reading books and watching videos of the Great Urdu Poet Jaun Elia, that made me realize that there is a Poet inside me there is a Poet inside all of us. In a movie called \"Aligarh,\" there is a dialogue that goes “Poetry is not in words, It's in the intervals between the words, the pauses, the silences.\" Believe me, it's not in words! In more succinct words: Jaun is not dead, he wasn't born yet. Being a Poet, what I have observed around me is that the younger generation is so keen to write that they have forgotten to read. Remember a good Poet is a good reader. He should read other's poetry to get an idea of how to write. how to write well actually, we all can write but the thing is how good we can write. Believe me, you will do wonders in writing once you start reading renowned Poets, Like Jaun Elia, Mirza Ghalib, Allama Iqbal. One can't just sit with pen and paper to write; it will come to you naturally and there is no perfect time to write. I wrote the below-given lines way back in 2016 at around 2:00 am. \" Zindagi Zindagi ki ek din khaber layegi Maut ayegi khair magar kab ayegi\". Poets want to be remembered. They want people to remember their poetry. People tend to forget, it’s human nature. We often praise a person after his/her death as correctly stated by Anne Frank “Dead people receive more flowers than the living ones because regret is stronger than gratitude.” The same goes for the poets. We talk about them and their poetry when they are no more with us. Jaun was one of the poets whom we admire so much now but he didn't get the popularity that he deserved while being alive. poetry is not just merely the arrangement of words that rhyme it's much more than this, rhyme is important it's the rhyme that makes people remember poetry but what is more important is something else that we can't see. The time has changed now so it the language, and there is nothing wrong with that, everything has to change, thought process and language of modern writers is very different than ancient writers, that can also be seen in their work, modern-day writers break the boundaries of literature and enter into the real world which is not like our idealistic paradigm. Here is a little example of writing which you won't see in ancient Urdu poets. Dhoop mein usaaeban h urdu Teer, jumle, kamman h urdu. Aur apna lehjaa sambhalye sahb. Mere ghar ki zabaaan he urdu. May the language, literature, and poetry get the justice that is due by the past on the future. Durjan Singh 201 Issue : X BBA, III-Year Poornima Spectrum 2021-22

Our Voice : Student Corner Somewhere between “I won’t share my room with anyone” and “All I want to do is be with my roomie”. We learnt to share our lives. Hostel Life is a great event that teaches us about the difficulties of life. Going on a long walk with buddies after every meal is the best part of the hostel life. Those gossip nights, learning tocook and lrearning different things while living wuth people from different parts of the country. The best thing was: Day 1 – “Hey! Can I borrow your pen.” Day 165 – “ I am wearing your dress tonight.” So, this was my hostel. The best 4 years of my life. Sharing, Caring, Fights, Fun, Food and every other experience of every single day!! Bhavisha Moghe, B.Tech I am a student of poornima university and am very proud to say that. Am pursuing my degree on B.sc (public health). One thing that makes poornima university unique is that it’s different from other universities. Poornima university is one of the rare universities in India that offers a health care certification and also engineering at the same time. Their mode of teaching is very professional as they employ very competitive and high qualified faculty members. Poornima university is A+ rated around India with so much fabulous positive reviews . India is one of the top countries which create high qualified professionals In industries such as technology, science etc. and poornima is the best place to acquire that. Hauwau Labaran, B.Sc. public health Staying away from home is not that easy. However I feel lucky that this hostel never made me miss my home. These four years of hostel taught me real meaning of sharing ‘Jo Tera Hai Vo Mera Hai’ among friends. Another beautiful memory brought up in my mind is the warden and their motherly care. They never miss a chance to take our side and protect us. The one thing which we all missed was Food (the one cooked with all the love and care by our mothers). Now, we don’t nag…. Hostel was a perfect place for studies yes at times it was noisy….still in hostel environment we can perfectly do work without distraction. Well, all the students and parents having apprehensions for hostels… I would say give it a try…. Have a WONDERFUL HOSTEL LIFE! Honey Chopra, B.Tech Poornima Spectrum 2021-22 205 Issue : X
