Advanced Studies & Research Center Three days’ workshop On “LATEX” The Advanced Studies and Research Center (ASRC) of Poornima University Jaipur organized a three day workshop On “LATEX“ and “Literature Review, Resource Discovery & Research paper writing” during the period November 27-29, 2021. The session was delivered by Dr. Ashish Sharma. Assistant Professor, CSE, IIIT Kota. During the workshop, he explained as to how LaTeX is a document preparation system for high-quality typesetting. Emphasizing the significance of LATEX, he said that the same is quite frequently used for medium-to-large technical or scientific documents besides almost any form of publishing. He enunciated that LaTeX is not a word processor! Instead, LaTeX encourages authors not to worry much about and to stay focused on the appearance of their documents. The present era is very demanding and competence in technical writing holds key. Technical writing deals with specific knowledge, generally in the sphere of science and technology, and may be used in a wide variety of media, journal papers, thesis, project proposals, and other technical documents. Expert Talk On “Literature Review, Resource Discovery and Research paper Writing” The Advanced Studies and Research Center (ASRC) of Poornima University Jaipur organized an expert talk on “Literature Review, Resource Discovery and Research paper Writing” on Dec. 23, 2021. The session was held by Dr. Vijayakumar Gali who is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan. Faculty of Computer Science & Engineering Project Exhibition “PRAYOGAM” The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, School of Computer Science and Engineering organized a project exhibition on “NSP” on October 19, 2021 for third semester students of BCA, B.Tech and MCA. The main objective of this event was to enhance the outcome and project based learning in which students could show their hidden talent. The session was co-ordinated by respective guest. The exhibition was attended by students of MCA, B.Tech and BCA. This exhibition provided exposure to the participants and provided a chance to enhance their knowledge in the subject area. Faculty of Engineering & Technology National webinar on “Atmospheric Aerosols” Centre of Excellence in Water and Clean Air, Poornima University Jaipur in association with Indian Meteorological Society (IMS) Jaipur Chapter organized a National Webinar on “Atmospheric aerosols: Tiny particles of large climate significance”. Dr. Vijay P. Kanawade, UGC-Assistant Professor, University of Hyderabad delivered the webinar. He has emphasized the importance of tiny suspended particles in the atmosphere. He has discussed about the basics of aerosols and its impact on weather as well as on climate. Webinar on “Engineers for Skill Development & Employment in Combating COVID” Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Poornima University, Jaipur organized a webinar on “Engineers for Skill Development & Employment in Combating COVID” on September 15, 2021, on the occasion of Engineer’s Day. The main objective of this webinar is to make the students acquainted with “Skill Development & Employment in Combating COVID”. The Chief Guest of the event, Er. Devraj Solanki gave some insights about the innovations done by engineers during this pandemic era. Faculty of Engineering & Technology Two Day Workshop on “Robotics and Industrial Automation” Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Poornima University, Jaipur in technical Collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering, NIT, Patna organized a two-day workshop on “Robotics and Industrial Automation” on February 18-19, 2022. More than 150 participants from academics and research centres from various institutes of India participated in this workshop. The primary objective of this workshop is to provide knowledge about robotics and hands-on sessions in automation. Faculty of Engineering & Technology Alumni Interactions: Civil Engineering Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Poornima University organized an alumni interaction with Ms. Mini Khileri, Alumni (2012-16 B.Tech Civil Batch) for students Faculty of Engineering & Technology on September 18, 2021. The alumni member Ms. Mini Khileri addressed the students about her journey from Hanumangrah to Canada. She has completed B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Poornima University and after that, she did her MS in Advance Project Management and Strategic Planning from Lambton College, Canada. Faculty of Engineering & Technology Celebration of Teacher’s Day Industrial Visit to Jaipur Metro, Jaipur Department of Mechanical Engineering, Poornima University organized an industrial visit to Jaipur Metro. Visit began with the brief introduction of Jaipur Metro, Boggie types and specifications and its operations by Mr. Abhishek Jain, Junior Engineer and Mr. Prakash Goyal, Nodal Officer. Mr. Kaushal Kassi, G.M. Rolling Stock, also shared his valuable career-oriented thoughts with the students. Ltd., Himachal Pradesh On August 21, 2021, Students of Department of Mechanical Engineering, Poornima University attended an industrial visit to Advanced Valves Pvt. Ltd., Himachal Pradesh (India). Visit began with the brief introduction about Advanced Valves Pvt. Ltd., Himachal Pradesh (India) by Mr. Satpal Sharma, Executive Assistant to Joint Managing Directors. Faculty of Engineering & Technology Online International Workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Techniques & Quality Control Department of Mechanical Engineering, Poornima University, Jaipur organized an Online International Workshop on Advanced Manufacturing Techniques & Quality on August 04-05, 2021. More than 200 people from academia and industry from various cities of India and outside India participated in this workshop. Primary objective of this talk is to make participants aware about the advances in recent technologies in manufacturing sector. In this international workshop various advance technologies like Additive Manufacturing, 3D-Printing, Quality Control, Powder Metallurgical Process, Industry 4.0, Internet of Things etc. are shared and discussed by experts. One day skill development workshop on “Petrol to Electric Bike Conversion” Department of Mechanical Engineering, Poornima University, Jaipur organized an One day skill development workshop on “Petrol to Electric Bike Conversion” on December 17, 2021. The workshop was on conversion of petrol bike to electric bike. In the current time prices of petrol vehicles have increased a lot, their maintenance is also increased due to increase in so many hikes in petrol price. This workshop is on converting the petrol bike into electric bike. Students can get brief understanding on this new technology conversion and can prepare themselves for entering or working into any electric vehicle or any other automobile company with its knowledge.
