Preface His Majesty the King has given various concepts and guidelines to the Thai people to use as guidance for living a balanced, stable, and sustainable life under the rapid changes caused by modern development. This “Nine Stories of Our Father’s Instructions” demonstrates how His Majesty the King’s instructions given on several occasions can serve as guiding principles for works, developments, and ways of living of nine reputable and well-respected figures who are highly successful in their lives, works, dedications to the society at large, and cares for nature and the environment. On this occasion, the Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, is pleased to present stories of these nine role models who have learned and successfully put nine instructions provided by His Majesty the King into practice. We hope that this book will inspire new generations to study His Majesty the King’s instructions and follow his footsteps in order to bring sustainable prosperity to our society.
