REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNODBuildingWorks:(I) In the year under review, part of the altar wall tiles pulled off.We thank God thatit did not occur during Church Service.The entire wall tiles were consequently replacedwith Sucor (magic) paints.(ii) A bungalow of two flats (3 bedrooms & 2 bedrooms) sharing fence with ourchurch which was offered for sale at N15m was by the grace of God being purchased bythe Church with a part-payment of N8m made.We are trusting God for the balancepayment before the end of the year.Men Solemn Assembly: This is a programme that brings all the men of All Saints'Church together monthly between 7:00am – 8:30am. It features messages, prayers, talkon investment,etc.Independence Great Deliverance 2015: By the grace of God, we marked 2015independence with a 5hour great deliverance prayers on October 1st 2015. Severaltestimonies attested the programme.To God be the glory!11.2 EMMANUEL CHURCH:Vicarage Project: In the year under review, we were able to complete fixing all thewindow glasses and tiling works. Left to be done is the plastering works. By the grace ofGod,and with the availability of funds,the vicarage shall soon be ready for dedication.New Church building: Work is in progress; sand filling to DPC and at the point ofraising up the pillars and blocks setting.The church solicits for financial assistance fromthe Diocese to meet this project.Charity /Welfare:A total sum of two hundred and sixty nine thousand,eight hundrednaira (N269, 800) only was expended to meet needs of some of our needy membersapart from clothing materials.11.3 MESSIAH CHURCH,UTI RD:Project: In the year under review, we were able to lay the foundation stone of ourvicarage on Saturday 26th March,2016.Spiritual Activities: By the grace of God, our efforts in organizing several spiritualactivities increased our numerical membership in the year under review.11.4 HOLYTRINITY CHURCH,EKPAN:Church Development: By the grace of God, we have been able to fully pay the loanwe took last year.Donation:An anonymous member paid our vicarage rent last year and this year.50 THEME: “THE PEACE OF GOD WHICH Date: SAT. 7TH – WED.11TH MAY, 2016 TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING.” Venue: ST. MARK'S CHURCH,OKORIBI:DevelopmentalWork: The church building under construction is now at the roofingstage.We need the assistance of well meaning Anglicans to achieve our dream this year2016.GroupWorks:The groups in the Church,such as MU; WG; G.G;A.Y.F; A.C.M; AAPS;B.B; A.M.F, etc; fully observed their weeks and other scheduled activities in the yearunder review.11.6 ST. JAMES' CHURCH, OFF UTI ROAD: The Church building underconstruction has gone up to the first lintel level.Considering the size of the building andthe current numerical/financial strength of the congregation, we appeal to you all toassist us in anyway you can with rods,cements,woods and cash to speed up the work.Growth/Family Groups: We appreciate God for the increase we have recorded incourse of the year; fifteen (15) new members have been added to the congregation.Weappreciate the works of the M.U,W.G,G.G,AYF,ACM,AAPS and the church choir.11.7 ST.BARTHOLOMEW CHURCH,ALEGBO JUNCTION:This Church isthe result of the Archdeaconry Crusade held on Friday 14th & Saturday 15th August,2015. Following our letter to the Bishop on the 16th of December, 2015 for theChristening of the newly established Church, his lordship graciously named the Churchas,“St. Bartholomew Anglican Church”,Alegbo Junction, Effurun on 7th January, 2016.The Church that started with 18 members,now has the average membership of 45 bothAdult and Children.Challenges:The main challenges facing this fast growing Church is securing a conduciveand permanent place of worship. The Archdeaconry has tried in the provision ofCanopies and Chairs on Sundays for worship on a rented parcel of land which paymentwas made possible with financial assistance from MEC.We call on the Diocese to help St.Bartholomew put up a temporal structure on their rented land as search for a piece ofland on which a befitting permanent Church building could be built progresses.12.0 OBITUARYIn the year under review, the following persons joined the Saints triumphant in EffurunEastArchdeaconry.1. REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNODREPORT FROM CHURCHES;St.Stephen's ChurchSpiritual activities: In St. Stephen's, we organised a lot of programmes to elevate thespiritual life of the people. Our monthly morning breakthrough, Divine appointment,Monday deliverance, programme for first born, programme for people frompolygamous home etc all these are programmes to make members and non membersto be spiritually balancedThe forty (40) days Lenten programme was also well attended, we thank God for Hisgrace.Charitable workSt. Stephen's church in the year under review has spent the sum of Two million, fourhundred and fifty six thousand four hundred and eighty naira (2,456,480) on charitablework.The following are some of the major beneficiaries:1. Mrs. Gloria Tobire who was one of our workers died and the children had no money because they were still very young and had nothing doing.The church took over 95 percent of the burial expenses.2. Mrs. Rebecca Otouloho who died, the children are very young and the family wanted to bury her that same day. She was a communicant and a Guild member, when the church heard of it, they took over the burial expenses.The act became evangelism to the family members and the community at large.3. The marriage of Revd.Victor Ogeh and his ordination thanksgiving were done with the assistance of the Church.4. A blind matured girl, named Happy Emuoghokoghene from the church was empowered with a deep freezer, some crates of mineral and money to buy recharge cards for sale.5. A young man by name Goodluck who is physically challenged was empowered to support his shoe making skill and he is properly established now. He is from the church of Epiphany of the Archdeaconry.6. The Revd. Friday Udorefe was also assisted by the church during the grandmother's burial.7. A woman was to bury her mother, but had nothing on her, this made her blood pressure to rise,she was aided and became well immediately.8. REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNODProject:In the year under review,the church after paying all their quotas to the diocese,embarked on an Ultra modern two storey building containing children chapel at thedown floor and two event halls upstairs.The church has spent about Ten million, fivehundred and sixty nine thousand, one hundred naira(10,569,100) so far.We covert theprayer of synod for God to help us finish the project.We appreciate our Lord Bishop who came on the 14th January, 2016 for the groundbreaking ceremonyWomen OrganisationThe women as usual were committed to all their Diocesan programmes as plannedcentrally.Their local programmes were also perfectly carried out.They started the yearwith one week programme Tagged:“Journey with the Lord 2016,Theme: I will go withyou,Text:Exo.33:14”.It was a good start to begin the year.Members were happy.Last year we reported that the women started a project for a “Day care centre”.Thedown floor has been completed and dedicated by Mother-in-Israel,Mrs.Patience Ide on21st December,2015 and it is running smoothly.They have six children and two nannies.Put-A-Smile: The women put-a-smile programme for this year under review waswonderful. The number of persons affected with this programme is increasing everyyear. For the year 2015, both members and non members who benefited were aboutThree hundred and fifty(350).We had 100 bags of 25kg(half bag) of rice donated by anindividual and 17 big bags(50kg) of rice donated by 17 other members. 110 newwrappers were given to the aged, widows and the less privileged. 25 cartons of 3litresgroundnut oil and 120 litres of groundnut oil were also distributed.The estimated totalamount spent was Eight hundred and fifty thousand naira (N850,000)The women under the Mother's union, organised Couples dinner/quiz during theMother's union week. Winners were given prices and the Couple of the day wascelebrated.It was colourful.2016 Mothering Sunday:The women honoured 12 elderly women with the title “Noblemother” and gave long service award to two women who served them faithfully.It was aglorious occasion.The children of those honoured came around to present gifts to theiraged mothers. A woman was given Plasma TV, Generator, Washing machine and Gascooker by her children who came from far and near.Evangelism:All the evangelical groups, namely AAPS, EFAC,AYF and MEC took part fullyin the church programmes and their group activities during the period under review.Donation1. A man donated 100 bags of 25kg rice to aid the put-a-smile programme.2. Engr.EzekielAteleMay their souls rest in perfect peaceST.JOHN'S CHURCH,OKU-ISOKOSpiritual activitiesDuring the period under review, this church has experienced a wonderful spiritual andnumerical growth.As a fast growing church,a lot of spiritual activities were organised tobuild the lives of members.Among the activities are;· 3days dry fasting and prayers· Hour of Grace every Saturday morning (6:00am-7:00am)· Revival programmes· 40days Lenten programmeAll these were refreshing to the souls of members.AchievementThank God with us that within the period under review, the loan of Five million naira(5,000,000) we took from the diocese from which Two million six hundred and sixtythousand (2,660,000) was paid last year to balanceTwo million,three hundred and fortythousand (2,340,000) has been fully paid.The land now fully belongs to St.John's Church.We call on kind hearted people of the Diocese to come to our aid as we want morefunds to build.“Come to Macedonia and help us”The church also own 1Hp laptop costing Ninety thousand(90,000) naira and 1HpPrinter costing Twenty eight thousand naira (28,000). All these were donated by ananonymous donor.CHURCH OFTHE EPIPHANYThis church which has relocated to their permanent site is picking up gradually. REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNODThey have their fasting and prayers every Friday.The church members are still workingaround the church to put it in order.Challenges:The road to the church is always flooded during the rainy season and thisis making it difficult for members to attend church services during the rainy season.Thereby, making income to drop.CHRIST CHURCH,7UPThis church is a small church that is about four years old.The few men and women in thechurch are trying in their spiritual programmes. This crusade was planned and executed to help in re-opening the Niger-cat church that went into extinction in 2013.ST.PETER'S CHURCH REPORTThis church bought Toyota Hiace 18 Seater Bus for use in Dec. 2015 with the incomerealized fromAdult Harvest 2015.The new offices upstairs have been completed in December 2015.The offices are now inuse.The building plan for a two storey building has been sent to the town planning authorityfor approval.The two storey buildings will all be Halls and the Sexton's accommodation.The foundation shall be laid as soon as we receive approval from the town PlanningAuthority.St. Peter's Ekpan for the first time went on a 2day retreat at Songhai-Amukpe. REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNOD#589,550.00 on renovation of theVicarage.This church bought a 6X5 Deep Freezer inJanuary 2016 for the Vicar's house while the existing one was given to the Curate foruse.The Fence of the church was raised higher as it was too low.SPIRITUAL PROGRAMMESVarious spiritual programmes are being carried out in St. Peter's Church Ekpan.Theseinclude1. Beginning the year with God,seven days fasting day programme2. The Friday fasting programme that was not being attended because the day is more of a social day was changed toWednesday with effect from November 18th 2015 tagged Divine Connection Fasting Programme.The attendance is now encouraging.3. The 40days period of Lent was observed by the church.4. The monthlyAll Night Prayers.WOMEN REPORTThe women of St. Peter's Church and the Archdeaconry are waxing stronger.To theglory of God,Bank accounts have been opened for theWomen in St.Peter's Church andthe Archdeaconry.They are also constantly going for outreach (visitation) to smallerchurches in the Diocese as contained in the Diocese Women Central Programme.TheWomen of St.Peter's are also planning for the DioceseWomen Conference.ST.ANDREW'SANGLICAN CHURCH,NEW LAYOUT,EKPANThe Ultra Modern building of this church is in progress.Through the grace of God, thisbuilding shall be roofed this year.We are grateful to all those who have been donatingtowards the building of this church.CHURCH OFTHE RESURRECTION,SHAGUOLOR,EKPANThis church is waxing stronger in membership and doing well financially.This Churchwanted to lay the foundation of aVicarage/Children's Chapel on their already acquiredland,but a woman suddenly started claiming ownership of the land.She sued the churchto court alleging that the church should pay #15 million for the land.The Bishop intervened that the issue should be resolved out of court.She incidentally isa member of the Anglican Church, Warri Diocese.We pray that soonest this issue shallbe resolved.CHURCH OF THE TRANSFIGURATION, COMMISSIONER ROADEKPANThis church is operating on a rented land.The cost is #120,000.00 annually.This church isworshipping on a temporary structure with very few members.We are sourcing for apermanent piece of land for this church.We pray that our God will provide land for thischurch using members of Warri Diocese. REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNODTHE NIGER-CAT CHURCH,EKPANTo the glory of God, we are happy to inform the synod that the Niger-cat AnglicanChurch has been re-opened.This was made possible through our lord Bishop who gave Ekpan Archdeaconry thesum of #703,400.00.A two day crusade was also organized from Friday 11th to Saturday12th March 2016 where a convert was won.This church started worship on Sunday13th March 2016 with 20 worshippers. Mr. Godday Ogagaoghene, a trained Catechistwho recently completed his training yet to be posted is helping tremendously in leadingthis new congregation.This is going to be a viable church.We pray that God will providea permanent land for this church before the 2years rent will expire.We are grateful to the following for their contributions towards the successful re-opening of this church.1. The Archdeaconry held alnight prayers in the first and lastquarter of the year.7. REPORTS FROM CHURCHES:(a) ST MATTHIAS CHURCHThe restructuring of church building has progressed from the level of the eastern partand the office as reported last year.The church work is in the first floor already housingthe church secretariat.The church has now in view the challenge of roofing.Also within the year the curate apartment was tiled by the church in partner withMrs.Oghelie led group of persons who bought the tiles.The Evangelical groups in the period under review and the church weekly and monthlyprogrammes strengthened the spiritual lives of the people through evangelical outreachto the community – Divine Intervention,Morning Dew,Covenant Prayers and others torevive and keep the church spiritually alert.The home cell,Youth work, A.A.P.S, A.C.M.,Women Organization and Men's Fellowship (that is Father's Union and Anglican MenFellowship) were all active and improving daily. The unit men fellowship had theirconvention in August, 2015 and it was very rewarding to the entire church as the meninvolved the woman during the marriage seminar.(b) ST. Some new centers have been inaugurated.2.4 Food Bank: The Food Bank is still struggling in this Archdeaconry. Many are unwilling to bring food items.2.5 Men Fellowship:We are still making frantic effort to make it stand. Meanwhile, the Warri Archdeaconry will be hosting the Diocesan men convention this year at St.Peter's Church,Igbudu -Warri.2.6 Foundation Stone: His lordship, the Rt. Revd. C.E. Our appreciation also goes to the Council of Knights, Warri Diocese and Sir Abulu for his concerted effort in procuring a safe place of worship for Churches in the riverine areas.3.0 REPORTS FROM CHURCHES: We have nine Churches in thisArchdeaconry.The new one added at Ugbo-Dede is still struggling to stand due to incessant raid on the area to dislodge those involved in bunkering.3.1 ST.PETER'SANGLICAN CHURCH, IGBUDU-WARRI: We are grateful to God, for the period under review St. Peter's was able to execute her usual programmes of mid-week Bible Study, Wednesday Divine Encounter,Fasting & Prayer,andWelfare to members.a) Revival Programme: Lent (40 days programme) 2015 commenced on Wednesday, 18th February and ended Saturday, 4th April, 2015 with the theme, “Now is the Time (Restore the Past and Secure the Future)”. It was heart searching programme with healing and deliverance that accompanied it.This was preceded by a Holy Week Revival from Monday 30th to Saturday 4th 2015.All the Priests ministered.Apart from the ones mentioned above,very eminent ministers of the Word of God were resource persons in course of St. Peter's Week of Revival with the Revd. Canon Prof. P. Onwochei and Rev. Sam.Tukura.Three days dry fasting and prayer with the theme,“I cannot Remain Like This”; three nights of Glory and a Crossover Revival from 28th to 31st December was organized. These far reaching revivals have increased the congregational strength and spiritual awareness of the Church.b) Welfare: The welfare of members was taken as a priority. The sum of N2,086,100.00 was spent in 2015.c) Leadership Retreat: This was done at Ibru Centre, Agbarha-Otor on 1st May, 2015.The Rt. Rev. John Aruakpor and Dr.T. However, there are some well placed persons that are not willing to attend home cell fellowship.g) Projects: The Church's two storey building that was initially proposed for a guest house has been converted to school for the St. Peter's Nursery and Primary School.The work is in progress.h) Land Acquisition: The Land Deed has been completed and the dilapidated building on the land has been demolished.i) Youth Programme: The AYF, Precious stones, Girls Guild, G.B, and A.B.G carried out their programmes from Diocesan to Parish level successfully. Some of the youth were empowered during the period under review.3.2 CHURCH OF THE TRANSFIGURATION,IYARA:We praise God Almighty, for by His mercy and compassion, we have been kept to bepart of this 2016 Diocesan Synod.May His name be praised and glorified.By the grace of God,the church is growing spiritually,numerically and financially,throughthe Sunday Services, Revivals, Morning breakthrough and Evangelism. Thewelfare/charity work is very encouraging.The home cell ministry is in full operation.The 40 days Lent fasting and prayer was doneand it was wonderful.Members were fully involved and we believe God for testimony.We have gotten some blocks for the Church building.The certificate of occupancy of theland is still holding us back from laying the foundation of the Church building. Synodshould pray along with us so that next year it will be reported as good news of the workof God.The Community (Merogun Community) has a tradition that every year,they give plasticchairs to the Church.This year they gave the Church ten (10) plastic chairs. On welfare, the church was able to meet theneeds of her members and non members alike through the food bank items.The Churchalso bought food items of N16,000.00 for some widows and needy and the sum ofN36,000 was spent on the sick and empowerment of some members to start a smallscale business in the year under review. In other words a total of N52,000.00 wasexpended on welfare issues in addition to Food bank.During this period the Church also received a donation of N10,000.00 from anindividual (non member).§Needs/Challenges: The Church is in need of N15,000,000.00 (fifteen million naira only) to purchase a land to build her permanent house of worship.3.4 OUR SAVIOUR'S CHURCH,UKPOKITI:The Church activities in this period include Bible Study, Revival, weekly breakthroughprayers and home cell fellowship.They also go out for evangelism mostly in the morning,and with these the Church is touching lives in the area.Under this period the Church was able to acquire a Tiger brand generator set, model -2700 at the cost of N40,000.00.Warri Archdeaconry also donated two (2) ceiling fansand two (2) horn speakers for the ChurchThe survey plan and the deed of the Church land had been done successfully.§Needs/Challenges:They need finance to complete the Church building project.3.5 ST.JOHN'S CHURCH,ODE-ITSEKIRI:The Church activities include: Bible Study, Revivals, Night vigils, Home Cell fellowshipand house to house witnessing within the community and the neighboring villages(Inorin,Ajagba,Usele and Ugbo-dede).By the grace of God, three (3) members were confirmed and some formalized theirmarriage in the period under review.§Needs/Challenges:The Church needs a Land.3.6 ST.PAUL'S CHURCH,OMADINO:This Church carried out the following activities in the year under review. All these were donesuccessfully.In the period under review the women held a Seminar and it was successful. AugustVisit: His lordship, the Rt. Rev. C.E. Ide, JP and Mother-In-Israel, Mrs. P.O.E. Ide, JP paidunscheduled visit to the Church on 1st Janaury,2016.This brought a great excitementand challenge to the entire community.§Needs/Challenges:The Church needs two million six hundred thousand naira (N2.6m) to acquire a piece of land.We joyfully appreciate our Bishop for providing Choir robes of N90,000.00 for theChurch on the day he visited.We are very grateful.3.8 ST.PHILIP'S CHURCH,ORERE-ULUBA:The activities include evangelism drive and visitation, Revival & all-night, Home cellfellowship has two cells groups named Home A and Home B.The women went out foroutreach,visitation,and provide welfare assistance to some member of the community.The AAPS jointly with Warri Archdeaconry organized a three (3) days crusade wheresome converts were won.The Archdeaconry women visited the Church early this yearwith some gifts which they distributed to members.In this period under review, two (2) members were confirmed.§Needs/Challenges: The Church needs financial assistance to lay thefoundation of a permanent place of worship.3.9 ST. Goodmorning Holy Spirit every Monday;General Bible study onWednesdays;Counseling andDeliverance onThursdays;Atmosphere of Restoration on Fridays;Encounter with Jesuson Saturdays; Morning Breakthrough first week of the month; Explo 40 lenten fasting;Crossover/ Prayer Convocation; the Church now has a resident Catechist with thevicar.The church is presently the headquarters ofWarri CentralArchdeaconry.The sumof N591,890 was spent on charity to members. Altar Table cross (N45,000) wasdonated by the Omoni family;Mrs.Elizabeth Izobo donated the main door of the churchat the sum of N80,000;A youth donated an Industrial Fan, Igho Kelvin Ojamuoma; theCorpers donated an Industrial Fan during their Corpers week thanksgiving celebration.We are grateful to God that in the period under review the church choir came outsecond place in the diocesan choir competition held at the Cathedral of St.Andrew.Ourpresent challenge is that we cannot carry on with any form of development in thechurch building because the original owners wants special settlement from the church(to pay the sum of N8,000,000) before anything new can be done.2.ST.PAUL'S CHURCHAGBARHA –WARRI:The church organized a week longcrusade in Agbarha-Warri from 14th – 19th Dec. 2015. By the grace of God the Archdeaconry functioned maximally as expectedof her.Board meetings were held regularly and the staff meetings were held from time totime, to review our work in the Archdeaconry.All the churches participated in all theprogrammes especially Ephphatha, an annual programme in the month of September.The Lenten period was also observed as a period of revival in all the Churches in theArchdeaconry.The Archdeaconry hosted the Catechist and Church Teacher's Bible Study. Ourconfirmation service was held in the month of November at the Church of theRedeemer. Reports reaching us indicate that members were attending Home Cellfellowship in their various places. The Archdeaconry also played host to the 7thDiocesan Widowhood Service and Empowerment programme in July, 2015. Indeed the Lord has redeemed us fromthe various projects that were started and the completion of those projects lookedimpossible.The year under review proved that, what was impossible with men becamepossible with our God. Thus it is a year of celebrations. To God be the glory thefoundation stone of a two storey vicarage building that was laid in March 2008 wascompleted and dedicated on Thursday 11th June, 2015 by his lordship the Rt. Revd.Christian E. Ide. God in His infinite mercies further encouraged us with His grace bysustaining our helpers and His gracious hand upon His people thus we were able tocomplete our Church building during the year.The Church building was dedicated onthe 13th of February, 2016. Indeed our mouths are full of Joy. In recognition of thecontributions of members to the development of the church, during the thanksgivingfor the completion of the church building, some members were given award ofexcellence on Sunday 14th February, 2016. It was in that service that Hon. & Mrs.Enahoro Eta pledged to singlehandedly pay the 2016 Diocesan Assessment.Apart fromthe money donated,during the harvest,they also donated 100 pews to the church.Theyalways encourage their friends to contribute to the church.We cannot thank this coupleenough because God raised them as a helper to His Church.The family of the Oruerioscontributed immensely to our success story in the year under review. Our membersalso performed very well in every aspect of their stewardship to the Church.The various activities of the church were held during the year without let or hindrance.The two services 6.30am English and 8.30am Isoko are doing well. Members are verycommitted in their stewardship to God and humanity. TheWomen ministry under theleadership of Evangelist (Mrs.) Helen Agbawe did very well during the year.They wereable to take delivery of their Toyota bus during the year. They were involved inCharity/Welfare activities both to members and outsiders. They visited theLeprosarium,Hospitals and Orphanage Homes.The Emoghene Multipurpose Cooperative Society is an empowerment scheme in thechurch.We are happy to report that it is waxing stronger and membership is on theincrease.The annual general meeting held in February indicates that the CooperativeSociety is doing well.The visitation/Counseling/ Follow-up Team ministry visits members weekly leading torevival in the life of members.The Welfare/Charity ministry on behalf of the Churchresponded to the needs of the people in diverse ways and over two million naira(#2,000,000.00) was spent.The various evangelical groups were active during the yearattending both local and national conferences.The disposition of clergy in June,2016 ledto the posting of the Rev'd Bright Erifeta to us.2. CHURCH OFTHE REDEEMER,FRANK-AILEMEN,WARRI.The disposition of clergy in June 2015 led to the transfer of the Revd. Canon Dr.R.O.Orido who assumed office as the vicar of this Church. Services were held regularlythroughout the year. REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNODspiritually alert.Such programmes include,Moment of Divine Change,Divine Encounter,and NightVigils etc. The Home Cell Ministry is functioning well with about 6 Cell groupsaround the Church.The church hosted the 2015 Confirmation service.The major challenge facing the church is how to acquire land for her vicarage.In a bid toacquire one, the Bishop graciously gave them the sum of N3 million as loan to enablethem acquire the land.The church would like to appreciate the families of the Oruerio’s for their financialsupport to the church during the one year remembrance service of their late mother,Madam Suzanna Obrewho; Sir & Lady Reuben Ukuevo who appreciated God with a 15Seater Bus for God's kindness towards them. The men also donated 2 Vicar's stall.Members at one time or the other donated both in cash and in kind.3. CHURCH OFTHE RESURRECTION,UGBORI,WARRIWith our hearts full of joy, we express our profound gratitude to God Almighty forgranting us another opportunity to report His marvelous works among us.By His grace,services were held regularly during the year under review.The services include Sundayworship cross-over/waiting upon the Lord to kick start the New Year, revival cumMoment of Divine Blessing. Evangelism/Follow-up/Witnessing is being pursuedvigorously to increase membership.The Church celebrated their annual harvest thatenabled them to pay part of their annual assessment.Charity works were carried out during the year both in cash and in kind.The sum ofTwenty thousand naira (N20,000.00) only. Home Cell meetings are held regularly andmembers are committed.The Church was able to clear some of her debts during theyear under review.The major challenge of the Church is a land for permanent churchbuilding.The church is calling on well-meaning people of God to come to their aid.4. THE NEW COVENANT CHURCH,OKITI STREET,WARRI.We thank God for this privilege of giving our report to Synod.We are happy to say thatthis church has continued to grow under the leadership of the worker there. Theworship life is attracting members to the church daily. As usual, services were heldregularly during the year under review.We thank God for the growth in membership.The immediate need of the church is a land to build their permanent structure forworship. Some of the properties available for sale are on the high side. Efforts made sofar is yet to yield any positive result. However, we have not relented on our oars we askfor prayers in this regard.We cannot but thank the proprietor of Fans College for theirmagnanimity in playing host to the church since inception.5. ANGLICAN CHURCH OLEH STREETIn January,2016,theArchdeaconry held a crusade in Oleh Street O/Layout which led tothe planting of this new church. Evangelism: The Archdeaconry went on a Crusade to Oviorie on Friday 6thDecember 2015 where six (6) souls were won to Christ. Groups and Societies on theirown took part in carrying out evangelistic crusades e.g.theA.Y.F.and theA.F.P.S.Revivalsand numerous Spiritual Programmes were effectively undertaken by Churches andgroups to reach out to lost souls.3. Home Cell Programme: The Home – Cell units in this Archdeaconry arefunctional. Although the attendance in many Home Cells are scanty we need tocommend the Shepherds and Interns who have doggedly held on to this programme as avery profitable one.4. Food Bank: This is not very popular in this Archdeaconry; this is becausebeneficiaries prefer cash to ameliorate their hardship. The focus is majorly now onmonthly raising of “welfare” offering which in turn is distributed to those experiencinghardship which they gladly and openly receive. But they feel very shy to ask for fooditems from the food bank.5. A new Archdeaconry – Warri Central Archdeaconry: During the yearunder review,Warri West this Archdeaconry gave birth to a new Archdeaconry knownas Warri Central Archdeaconry. It was inaugurated on Saturday 20th February, 2016 byour Lord Bishop Rt.Rev.C.E.Ide.6. Report from Churches:-(a) ST. JAMES CHURCH OJABUGBE:This Church is hosting the Synod 2016.The entire church and church premises have been given a facelift to the tune of N1.1m.Two flats at the Church Investment Building were completed at the cost N2.4m. In-house seminars and workshops were also organised.2.3 ACHIEVEMENTS:1. Infrastructural Developments:i. Marble tiling of the Chancel wall and floor and choir stall.ii. Tiling of attached offices.iii. Installation of altar rail (byASAC Council of Knights).2. Off-setting of the debts owed for the fabrication and installation of the window frames and glasses and also in the roofing of the Church building.3. Clearing of 2015 Assessment of N 17,652,698.00 and off-setting of old Assessment debt of N 4,042.226.00 on the whole a payment of N 21,694,964.00 was made.4. ACTIVITIES: The churches in the Archdeaconry evinced spiritual vivacity andagility.This is encapsulated in the great strides recorded in the spiritual and numericalgrowth and infrastructural development in the Archdeaconry. In addition, peace andconvivial spirit pervaded throughout theArchdeaconry in the period under review.b. ASSESSMENTAND LEVIES In the period under review, all the Churches in the Archdeaconry religiously fulfilled their financial obligations to the Diocese and theArchdeaconry.(c). Home Cell:The home cell system is waxing stronger due to well structured monitoring and organization by our priests, catechists, home cell shepherds and servants.(d). Sunday school:The group by group adult Sunday school system is yielding good fruit in Christian maturity.(e). Financial Assistance to Smaller Churches: Within the period under review the Archdeaconry spent the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250, 000)only to rent a place of worship for the Triumphant Anglican Church, Edjeba. REPORTS TO THE FIRST SESSION OF THE TWELFTH SYNOD(f) Youth Participation in Divine Worship: All the churches in the Archdeaconry pragmatically engaged the youths in various activities during divine worship especially with set aside Sundays where the youths are saddled with organizing the entire service.(g) PRISON VISITATION: The Archdeaconry spent the sum of N19,500 (Nineteen thousand five hundred naira) only in addition to clothes and utensils on prison visitation.(h) VISION 2015: Archdeaconry Evangelism at Edjeba. This vision was made realistic with the entire Archdeaconry embarking on a two days crusade. Four persons were won to Christ.(i) APPRECIATIONS: We appreciate all our vicars, priest, catechists, the Financial Officer, clerks, treasurers, lay readers, evangelist ,youth leaders, the good people and friends of our churches in theArchdeaconry for their tireless efforts and generous giving for the growth and development of our churches3.
