Afterunderstanding the under-lying knowledge of the students, specific activities weredesigned keeping in mind the target population. As per the action plan, a global perspective to mental health was kept as the basisof all the activities. The first activity designed was a Panel Discussion for thestudents of class XI, covering the mental health issues in India, Syria, North Koreaand USA. From the time students were allotted their specific countries, theirenthusiasm and interest was evident through their regular interactions with us. Itwas impressive to observe the efforts and the amount of research that was done tofacilitate a fruitful discussion with the panelists. As a part of the event, an Inter-house poster making competition was held for thestudents of classes 9 & 11. With the assistance of their respective house wardens, students prepared well researched and creative posters displaying the topic,“Awareness through art-Mental Health Matters”.The other activity was Bookmark-making conducted for the students of class 9.Students were asked to write motivational positive notes on self-designedbookmarks which were distributed during Mental Health Week to spread themessage. As a concluding activity, Quiz and Essay writing competition were conducted forthe audience of the panel discussion. The result of Quiz and Essay clearly showedthat the students were attentive and participative in the panel discussion. The event was a huge success as the feedback collected from parents, students andvisitors was very positive. This gave us an encouragement to organize more eventslike this in future as it made a difference in the awareness levels of the students onMental Health. As event coordinators, the thing that we would want to improviseupon would be to involve more audience and participants as a part of such eventsthat raise general awareness on such critical topics.Ms. Madhuri AroraMs. Shruti AryaMs. Malobika MukherjeeTeam- ‘Matter’-Matters!
