LOT 429 $1 1870 J-1019. PCGS PR65 CAM CAC A beautiful GEM Cameo example of James Longacre’s Indian Princess Seated design, struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. Rated as R-7+ with an approximately three examples known, this piece, is an old friend, ex Denali Collection (plate matched, pedigree not on holder). The mirrors are beaming and reflect like a frozen lake. All of the details are fully frosted and exacting in the precision in which they were struck. Aluminum is a very soft metal, and is often susceptible to corrosion or hairlines; this GEM displays none of the former, and only the faintest of the latter, producing an AMAZING eye appeal. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This is the FINEST example graded at PCGS. NGC has a PR66 (no CAM) on their population report. This coin sold in April 2017 for $11,163; the only other sale of a J-1019 we can find is a PCGS PR64 (no CAM) in September 1993 for $8,250. LOT 431 T$1 1873 J-1294. PCGS PR66 CAM CAC What a beautiful pattern! Barber’s Liberty seated on a globe facing right, with wheat, plow and hay bale behind. Barber’s standing eagle holds a Union shield with ribbon in his talons and a ribbon with E PLURIBUS UNUM in his beak. Struck in silver with a plain edge, this beautiful pattern trade dollar variety is rated R-7+ with fewer than 6 specimens known. The mirrors are crisp and clean with only a few microscopic hairlines that can be seen on the icy smooth surfaces. In a light they reflect back and create a great contrast to the frosty devices. Like many patterns of the era, the design elements are generally well struck, with only minor weakness at the highest points in the centers of the design. The faintest touch of clear gold forms a subtle halo at the rims of both obverse and reverse. Silver dollar coinage halted in 1873, with the advent of the heavier Trade dollars designed to compete with the Mexican silver that dominated trade in the Orient. A large number of proposed designs were submitted before settling on the adopted design. In this cataloger’s opinion, this design is superior to the one that ended up being struck. PCGS 1, NGC 0, CAC 1. This is the only CAMEO example graded by PCGS. There are two records for an NGC PR66, one was CAM and sold for $21,150 and the Newman coin was not CAMEO, and sold for $25,850. Struck in silver with a reeded edge, this issue is rated R-7-, with perhaps as many as a dozen examples extant. This one is among the FINEST known examples, tied for second highest PCGS graded coin with a DCAM designation. Both sides are framed by an amber-orange gold with accents of cobalt-teal mixed in for a SUPERB visual effect. Dazzling silver mirrors beam from all over, offering a bold contrast to Morgan’s frosted design elements. In 1876, George Morgan came to the U.S. mint from England, and in 1877 he and Barber set to work to come up with a replacement for the long running Seated Liberty motif in use since 1839. A flood of patterns came out, making a collection of1877 half dollar patterns a very cool specialty. The devices are very well struck with full definition on both sides. Unlike many patterns struck in aluminum, this one lacks any distracting hairlines, corrosion, or any other post minting issues that usually plague coins in this composition. The mint created these Martha Washington dies to test new compositions beginning in 1965 (and they have been used in various other tests since, most notably in 1999 with the change over from the Susan B. Anthony dollar to the Sacagawea dollar). The obverse depicts Martha Washington facing right and the reverse shows a 3/4 view of Mount Vernon. Struck on a copper-nickel clad planchet as adopted in 1965 with a reeded edge, rarity unlisted in Judd, thought unique in Pollock. We conjecture that the rarity is R-7+. In the 10th Edition of the Judd reference Q. David Bowers writes: “Somewhat similar to the scenario of 1942, fantasy designs were prepared with no relation to current coinage motifs, in the present instance to avoid creating ‘rarities’ by using regular dies. Full brilliant mint luster shines on both sides of this radiant premium GEM. The strike is bold with a very strong eye appeal. When we think of important coinage milestones in American history, clearly the 1792-95 period, establishing the mint and the beginnings of our federal coinage stick out. Also the gold rushes and the introduction of the $20, the Act of 1873 ending the coinage of silver dollars, Act of 11878 bringing back the silver dollar and the mountains of Morgan dollars that were struck. And of course even today the various actions in 1933-34 which took gold out of our economy is familiar to most collectors. What is often overlooked in modern numismatics is when, in the early 1960s, the silver price began to move up, making the use of silver for circulating coinage impractical. LOT 441ORIGINAL 1902 GOLD PROOF SET PCGS PR65-67 CAC Of ALL the sets Legend Numismatics and Legend Rare Coin Auctions has ever owned or handled this by far is the greatest. Many years ago, we did own a complete 1891 Ultra Cameo set (which is now in Japan), that is the only set to come close. A matched original GOLD Proof set is rarer than ANY silver proof set (which we love as much as anything). You will see a very rare and occasional Cameo Proof set from the 90s, but this date-NEVER (along with most from 1901-1907)! To know how special and different this set is-you need to understand how Proof coins AFTER 1901 come. They are typically soiled, have dull mirrors, and just do not look good. Each coin in this set on their own would be coins to die for! So having a totally MATCHED ORIGINAL SET is beyond comprehensible.About the value, you can NOT even go by Collectors Universe as a semi guide. Since nothing similar has EVER traded, the values reflect nothing. Example, the $10 PR67-Collectors Universe has only $95,000. It is well agreed by our fellow dealers who handleProof Gold that ANY PR67 $10 is worth at least $125,000-and we know of a few dealers who WILL happily pay that. In addition, there is a premium for the entire set (we figured it around 5-10%). If you are a Proof Gold buyer, you will have noticed over the past 2 years, there has been almost NO proof gold offered ANYWHERE-especially PCGS CAC. ANY GEM Proof cool gold has been selling for “moon money” at auctions because so little of it appears. As you know ANY matched original set is special to the Legend family. We want this set to be placed in a good home where it won’t be broken up, messed with, or dipped out. This set we consider a numismatic treasure of a lifetime. You sure won’t see any others-of ANY date! Good luck! PCGS #7225 | EST: $300,000+LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM 215
WELCOME TO THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS #2 ON THE PCGS REGISTRY FOR BASIC SET Legend Rare Coin Auctions is proud and honored to present the fabulous Crow River Collection of $10 Indians. This set has been many years in the making. The only coin missing in the set is a 1933. Every coin in the set is a minimum of GEM status. The Crow River collector bought his very first coin (the $10 1915S PCGS MS65 CAC) from us outside a June Long Beach Show around 2007. We bonded with him and agreed to help him build a great collection. Over 85% of his coins came from Legend. At times, he would grow very frustrated with the lack of $10 Indians we were finding or were being offered in auctions. We’re glad he was able to shift his energies elsewhere. He built the Northern Lights Collection of toners while waiting for $10’s to appear. As we all know, that was one of the greatest ever Morgan Toned sets ever yielding outrageous world record prices! Every coin included in the Crow River Collection is of the highest quality and all pieces have superb eye appeal. Even his duplicates are superior to most coins in those grades. We can remember passing on many coins on his behalf. We enjoyed delivering him his coins as he would always whip out his huge hand held magnifying glass then smile. Dinners were fun as he’d always question us why we had not found him any new coins. We’ll miss the thrill of the hunt with him. Like so many other great collectors, the Crow River Collector will miss these coins as badly has his heart misses the Northern Lights Morgans. We’ve promised him his coins will be placed into great homes. This is not his final curtain call with coins. He is still working on a small specific collection. Its so in his blood that even with retirement looming, he wants to keep collecting! Our sincere congratulations to our good friend for building yet another memorable quality collection.216

We very much consider this coin HIGH END. Exquisite surfaces are virtually perfect! Even if you use a strongglass the worst you can find is a tiny scuff/frost break at the lower left obverse. We can’t stress enough how clean and smooth thesurfaces are. A strong luster beams from all over. Both sides are a gorgeous and totally original yellow gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frostyand are fully struck. The eye appeal is like the coin, sensational! The Wire Edge is a one year type coin, a prototype for what was to become the Indian Head eagle. Like the double eagle thatAugustus St. Gaudens designed, the original design called for ahigh relief. While technically a pattern, enough were struck (500) that they are considered an integral piece in a complete set of $10 Indians. PCGS 16, NGC 20, CAC 6. This coin last sold in September2014 where it realized $129,250. Keep in mind, we really do rankthis coin as MS66+, just PCGS has not agreed so far. We sold aPCGS MS67 CAC (the only MS67 beaned) for just over $400,000this year! If you seek a superb Wire Rim and are ultra-picky, this is the coin you want! Good luck as we expect strong bidding here! PCGS #8850 | EST: $110,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 443 $10 1907 INDIAN. NO MOTTO PCGS MS67 CAC CROW RIVER This coin is the real deal MS67! Extraordinary surfaces cannot be any more pristine. When we examined this coin with a strong glass al we could find are a few scattered and MICROSCOPIC frost breaks. We mean it when we say clean. A strong luster beams from all over. Both sides are a gorgeous original and even gold color. There are NO discolorations or stains. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do standout. The eye appeal is really dreamy! PCGS 9, NGC 29, CAC 5. NO PCGS CAC piece has ever been sold via auction. The published numbers are all wrong as we have never seen a PCGS CAC piece sell for below $70,000.00. The only coins that do sell for under $70,000 are the lesser quality NON-CAC pieces. Take our word on it, the majority of NON CAC pieces do have issues and are nowhere near the quality of this piece. This coin will be a star in $10 Indian or Type set! PCGS #8852 | EST: $65,000+218
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 444$10 1908 NO MOTTO. PCGS MS66 CAC CROW RIVERThis piece is an outstanding work of art! And it is HIGH END too!Remarkable surfaces are extremely clean and have a thick satiny smooth texture. Only using a powerful glass can you detect a microscopic ticks and frost breaks. NONE are visible to the naked eye. A strong luster beams from all over and makes the colors stand out. Totally original shades of orange gold/yellowgold magnificently swirl all over. Miss Liberty and the details areslightly frosty and are fully struck. Mother Nature and the US Mint teamed up to create a real masterpiece here! PCGS 8, NGC 14, CAC 5. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell inauction brought only $35,250 back in February 2014. Since then a few “lesser” quality MS66’s have traded (no beans of course) for much less. We can NOT stress enough the extreme rarity of this coin in this condition. Once this coin sell, good luck finding anything remotely similar. PCGS #8853 | EST: $35,000+LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM 219
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 445 $10 1908-D NO MOTTO. PCGS MS65+ CAC CROW RIVER For Legend Numismatics to include a coin in any major set they build (like Crow River) it has to be special. Of course, this 08-D is VERY special and very high end! We’ll be blunt, the reverse has a few TINY ticks that keep this coin from a MS66 designation. The obverse is a full MS66 in our opinion. Overall, both sides appear clean and satiny smooth. A full shining luster beams from all over on both sides enlivening a rich pale orange gold color. There are NO discolorations or spots anywhere. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 3, NGC 10, CAC 2. This is the ONLY MS65+ at PCGS. The last auction record for this coin was in February 2013 where it sold for $55,813. The last MS66 to sell in auction was a NON-CAC which brought $82,250 in August 2013. We estimate a PCGS/CAC (pop 2) piece to be worth very close to $100,000 today. We can NOT stress enough how RARE and UNDER valued this date is in real GEM. Opportunity knocks loud here for ANY serious $10 enthusiast. PCGS #8854 | EST: $50,000+220
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 446 221 $10 1908 MOTTO. PCGS MS66 CAC CROW RIVERAnother SUPERB GEM and HIGH END coin. We assure you, the Crow River Collection is the real deal. We consider this coin to border pure amazing “gaga, gaga!” Superior surfaces are remarkably clean and smooth with a thicker satiny texture. Only using a really powerful glass and looking really hard can you find some tiny frost breaks. A reallystrong luster illuminates the surfaces vividly, bringing life the theheart pounding mix of totally original yellow/pale reddish orange gold colors that swirl all over. There are NO discolorations orspots. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are fully struck. The eye appeal is awesome! PCGS 38, NGC 33, CAC 12. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell inauction brought $32,900 October 2015. Do not even think about comparing any of the weak NON-CAC coins this a coin like this(those sold for a fraction of what a real GEM MS 66 is worth). This is a coin you look at and say “oh yeah” for BOTH its quality and eye appeal! PCGS #8859 | EST: $30,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 447 $10 1908-D MOTTO. PCGS MS66 CROW RIVER We were surprised when CAC did not bean this coin--they called it a near miss-and we fully agree. We believe a small die chip on the face is all that is keeping it from a bean. So for us, it is an opinion issue vs. a doctoring issue. Overall, the surfaces are clean and smooth. However using a strong glass you can detect a small scrape and tick or two. Again, you need to use a glass to see these microscopic ticks. A full booming luster enlivens both sides vividly, giving life to a superb mix of totally orange orange/deep gold colors swirl all over (a peacock in heat would blush at the colors!). There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are fully struck. The eye appeal is gorgeous! PCGS 6, NGC 4. There are only 3 coins finer. The last 08-D Motto in PCGS MS66 to sell in auction brought $39,950 in April 2017. That is a relatively lower price since the current Collector’s Universe value is $47,500. As it did in the Crow River Collection, this coin will be an excellent fit to ANY GEM $10 Set! PCGS #8860 | EST: $30,000+222
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 448 $10 1908-S PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVERA magnificent SUPERB GEM in every respect! This coin is on fire! Outstanding surfaces reveal only a tiny tick or two only under strong magnification. An intense headlight type luster enhances everything all over. Both sides are a totally original fiery orange gold color. The copper toning dots prove the originality, otherwise there are NO flecks or discolorations. Miss Liberty and every detail are frosty and are fully struck. The eye appeal is magnificent! PCGS 11, NGC 4, CAC 7. PCGS has only graded 2 in MS66+. The last one to sell brought only $35,251 in October 2015. Get this, the last PCGS MS66 (NO CAC) that was back in 2004! As you can see, this date and grade is not as common as the pop reports make you think. Even the in MS67, there have been NO auction appearances since 2007. These are legit rarities in SUPERB GEM! PCGS #8861 | EST: $32,500+LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM 223
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 449 $10 1909 PCGS MS65 CAC CROW RIVER This is a VERY HIGH-END GEM. We think the satiny luster not being so strong is what holds it back from a 66 designation. Remarkably clean and satiny smooth surfaces appear flawless to the naked eye; even using a strong glass we only found one tiny tick. This coin really is that clean. A softer satiny luster shines all over and this really is NOT a dull or drab coin. Both sides enjoy a totally original and even deeper yellow gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and do standout. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 17, NGC 23, CAC 5. The last PCGS/CAC piece to sell in auction brought $19,975 in August 2016. Of course, PCGS made the Collectors Universe value $19,500; it is our opinion that after 30+ years of grading with only 17 graded (5 of which are CAC) that real GEM MS65 should be worth more. No matter what the price, this coin will make a great addition to any GEM set. Good luck! PCGS #8862| EST: $17,500+224
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 450 225 $10 1909-D PCGS MS66 CROW RIVERWe’ve seen many examples of this date that are horribly hacked up. This coin is way above average-even though, for whatever reason CAC did not bean it. Outstanding satiny surfaces are as smooth as a baby’s behind and are that clean; even using a strong glass, we could not find ANY ticks or even decent size frost breaks anywhere. We will note there is a tiny tick hidden in the Eagle on the reverse. A fullluster beams boldly from all over and both sides are bathed in amix of pale orange/pale pink/yellow gold colors. Miss Liberty andthe details are frosted and are pinpoint sharp in strike and stand out boldly. The eye appeal is great!PCGS 4, NGC 3. PCGS has graded only 2 coins higher. The last PCGS MS66 coin to sell in auction brought $44,650 in January 2017. The current Collector’s Universe value is $55,000. Wecannot say we have seen many of these ever offered. This coin is perfectly acceptable for any GEM $10 Indian set. PCGS #8863 | EST: $45,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 451 $10 1909-S PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER We love this absolutely SUPERB GEM! This actually looks more like a toned 08-S then the majority of 09-S’s we have ever seen! Virgin surfaces are ultra clean and are satiny smooth. Using a strong glass all you can find are a few light frost breaks; there are NO hidden lines or scuffs. For a 1909-S the luster is bold and both sides enjoy a gorgeous mix of totally original orange/ deep yellow gold colors. There are NO spots or discolorations anywhere. Miss Liberty and every detail are fully struck and have light frost. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 4, NGC 3, CAC 2. PCGS has graded only 2 coins in MS66+. PCGS has graded one MS67 (NO CAC) finer. The coin offered here last sold in August 2013 for $55,812. The last regular MS66 to sell in auction-2008! We can NOT stress enough how extremely rare this date is in true GEM. Even the #1 all-time Hall of Fame Set- the Simpson Collection- only has a MS66. Now is your opportunity to add a really special and one of the finest graded pieces for the date to your set. Once this coin is sold, we doubt you will find anything remotely similar offered for many years! PCGS #8864 | EST: $50,000+226
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 452 227 $10 1910 PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER Multiple WOW factors are only part of what this coin’s appeal. It is simply awesome! No question, this monster borders on a full MS67 grade--webelieve all that keeps it from that designation are some scattered microscopic frost breaks that can only be seen with a strong glass. The texture of the surfaces is satiny smooth. A fullbooming luster makes this coin visible from outer space! Really! Both sides are bathed in an outrageous and totally original mix ofneon-like orange/deep yellow/pale pinkish gold colors. When youtwirl this coin all you see are flaming orange colors. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and every detail is sharply struck. The eye appeal is off the charts awesome! PCGS 23, NGC 19, CAC 13. PCGS has graded only 3 MS66+ pieces and 3 MS67’s. The last PCGS CAC MS66+ to sell in auction brought $22,354 January 2017. This coin should easily bring that, or more. The current Collector’s Universe value is $27,500. This really is a coin you can sit and stare forever! If it were in the Northern Lights Collection of toned Morgans, we’d rank it a 9+ on our 1-10 scale (10 is the best). Opportunity knocks loud here! PCGS #8865 | EST: $20,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 453 $10 1910-D PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER No question this coin was sent directly from heaven! Superb surfaces are exceedingly clean and smooth. Only with a strong glass can you see some light and scattered small frost breaks (not many at all). The coin looks more like a P Mint then a D Mint. A strong luster beams from all over. Both sides enjoy a stunning two tone mix of gold/pinkish gold/deep gold colors. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and every detail are sharply struck. The eye appeal is wonderful! PCGS 36, NGC 39, CAC 21. PCGS has graded 9 in MS66+. The last PCGS/CAC piece to sell in auction brought $18,213 in November 2014. No coins in 3 full years? --These puppies are rare! We assure you, this is one of the nicer toned 10-D’s you will ever see! PCGS #8866 | EST: $17,500+228
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 454 $10 1910-S PCGS MS66 CROW RIVERA 10-S is one of the rarest $10 Indians in SUPERB GEM. Even the #1 Hall of Fame Simpson set only has a 64+. We consider this coin to be interesting. Typically, this date comes whacked up. This coin’s surface quality is the furthest from that. In fact, only when using a strong glass can you detect a few frost breaks. Amazingly there are no hits. A surprisingly strong luster beams boldly from all over and a rich orange gold color evenly covers both sides. There arezero spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. The eye appeal is quite colorful! PCGS 2, NGC 2. There is NOTHING higher. Very important to note: the last MS66 sold for $120,750 in January 2009. So there has not been one sold in auction for 8 years-- that is an eternity! Here is an opportunity to add one of the finest graded 1910-S $10s to your collection. Good luck! THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 455 $10 1911 PCGS MS67 CAC CROW RIVER Hard to imagine there are 3 MS67+ coins in the world. This coin is really as good as it gets! Now this coin has flawless and satiny smooth surfaces. Even using a strong glass, you will find NO imperfections or even minor frost breaks. WOWZER! The glowing luster is strong all over. Both sides have an even and totally original gold color. This coin has never been messed with in ANY way. There are zero spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are fully struck. The eye appeal is of sheer perfection! PCGS 9, NGC 9, CAC 4. These have very strong auction records ranging for $49,350 in January 2016 to $61,687 in October 2015. We assure you NONE have been offered to Legend (and they are major buyers of $10 Indians) in PCGS MS67 CAC in at least 2 years. The current Collector’s Universe value is only $40,000. Hello PCGS! This price needs updating! Opportunity knocks loud here for anyone searching for a monster Type or $10 Indian for their set. PCGS #8868 | EST: $37,500+230
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 456 231 $10 1911-D PCGS MS63+ CROW RIVERThis an impossible date to find decent, let alone nice! The Crow River collector searched for years just to find this piece! This is actually a high-end coin (for an 11-D). There is slightroughness of the surfaces but few outstanding hits or ticks-even if you use a strong glass. The luster is surprisingly strong and you can clearly see it all over. Both sides have a moderate “oldtime dirty gold color”. There are NO spots or clusters of darkness though. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck. For a 63+ this really is not a bad coin. The eye appeal is pleasing.PCGS 37, NGC 12. PCGS has only graded 4 in MS63+. The last one to sell in auction brought $30,550 in January 2017. Knowthis, a non-CAC 11-D in MS64 sold for $70,500 in April 2017. For whatever reason, in choice MS and higher this is an extremely rare date. Do not be fooled by the pops. The lone MS64 CAC piece is locked up in major collection as are at least 2 of the MS65’s graded. Good luck. PCGS #8869 | EST: $27,500+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 457 $10 1911-S PCGS MS66 CROW RIVER Another beautiful example of a very rare S-Mint $10 Indian. Sadly, CAC elected not to bean this beauty. We believe the reason why is common to the date-a cut (not major) on the face. We all know how tough CAC is on ALL better gold. Overall, the surfaces are exceedingly clean and are satiny smooth. Even with a strong glass there are no imperfections to be found anywhere (not even frost breaks). The luster is very strong and glowing. Both sides are a beautiful and totally original two-tone gold/ pale orange gold colors. There are no spots or discolorations. The reverse is easily an MS66+. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are sharply struck. The eye appeal is gorgeous! PCGS 10, NGC 2. PCGS has graded none higher. The last PCGS MS66 to sell in auction brought $32,900 in August 2016. Prior to that the Kutasi coin brought $44,062 in 2013. These are simply not around. The current Collector’s Universe value is $42,500.00. We expect strong bidding and this coin to sell for around that number. Good luck! PCGS #8870 | EST: $35,000+232
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 458 233 $10 1912 PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER Superb in every respect and then some! The Crow River Collector wanted to build the finest set possible and this coin clearly ranked as a superb 1912. Remarkable surfaces are a thick satiny texture and are cleanoverall. Only with a strong glass can you see a few frost breaks. We must note: there is an interesting pinpoint bag mark on the reverse that was clearly from when the side of another coin hit it embossing its edge star in the field (it is kinda neat actually). A full glowing luster highlights both sides. There is a beautiful mixof totally original gold/yellow gold/pale orange gold colors that allswirl together. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is great! PCGS 10, NGC 11, CAC 5. This is the ONLY MS66+ graded by any service. It has never been sold in auction. The current Collectors Universe Value is $32,500. With only 2 MS67’s out there (one is locked away in the Simpson Collection) and no CAC’s right now higher then this coin, we expect really strong bidding here. This coin will be a very satisfying addition to ANY collection. PCGS #8871 | EST: $30,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 459 $10 1912-S PCGS MS65 CROW RIVER We rank this coin as a C for the grade. We have seen so many others that were just plain pitiful; it is just how the date comes. Overall, the surfaces are amazingly clean and have a thick satiny texture. If you use a strong glass you will only find a few TINY hits and frost breaks. The luster is slightly subdued-which is typical for the date. Both sides do have a totally original deeper gold color. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are needle sharp in strike and do stand out. The eye appeal is pleasing! PCGS 13, NGC 9. The current Collectors Universe Value is $40,000. The Crow River Collector paid that to acquire this coin. Last year we sold a 12-S PCGS MS65 CAC (pop 3) for a price in excess of $65,000. ANY 12-S in GEM is rare. The pop reports most likely are not correct. You hardly ever see this date offered in GEM. PCGS #8872 | EST: $35,000+234
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 460 235 $10 1913 PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER An exquisite GEM. This is the SECOND FINEST graded by PCGS! Hard to imagine there is a single better coin, the PCGS MS67 in the Simpson Collection. Virtually flawless surfaces are a delight to behold. Using a strong glass, we could only find one tiny tick and a few light frost breaks. Of course, the texture of the surfaces is thick andsatiny with a good luster that beams from all over. The colors aretotally original and are an even gold with a blush of copper in thecenter of the obverse. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and every detail are frosty and are fully struck. The eye appeal is superb!PCGS 16, NGC 12, CAC 3. This is the only MS66+ at PCGS withjust ONE coin higher. This coin last sold for $25,851 in November 2014 where the Crow River collector bought it. An interesting note: NO regular MS66’s with CAC beans have ever been sold at auction. We know for a fact demand has risen on $10 Indians since 2014 on ALL better dates and higher grades. If you seek the best, you are certainly NOT going to be able to buy a better one any time soon! Good luck, we expect strong bidding here! PCGS #8873 | EST: $25,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 461 $10 1913-S PCGS MS64 CAC CROW RIVER This is a VERY difficult date to find really nice, or in choice condition and higher. Legend Numismatics placed this coin in the Crow River Collection back in 2012 for $60,000. We cannot say we have seen ANY other PCGS MS64’s since then. The quality of this coin is high end too! For an MS64 of a very tough date, it sure looks as good as a few of the more common date coins graded MS65 we have recently seen. Overall, the surfaces appear clean. Only using a strong glass can you find a few ticks (NOT whacks which are so common to this date) and a few light frost breaks. A strong luster illuminates the surfaces and the colors. There is also a neat die crack running along the bottom obverse 6-8 o’clock. Both sides are a deep original gold color with pale orange highlights. There are two microscopic toning dots at 8:00 on the obverse. Otherwise, this coin has no discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are sharply struck. The eye appeal is fantastic! PCGS 12, NGC 11, CAC 5. PCGS has graded only 3 in MS65 and the lone finest grade-a 66+ (which is in the Simpson set). This coin offered here was the last coin to sell in auction back in January 2012. Back then-5 FULL years ago--it brought $57,500. Legend Numismatics recently sold the lone CAC MS65 for $220,000. We can NOT stress enough the rarity of this date in really choice condition or with a CAC bean. Just like it fit in the Crow River Collection, this beauty will fit in yours too! THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 462 $10 1914 PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER One look and you’ll agree this coin is a real MS66.9+! It’s got many WOW factors that are easily seen! Impeccable surfaces are beyond anything you typically see even for an MS66+. We cannot find any problems of ANY size, anywhere, and that does include using a strong glass andlooking all over. A full luster really makes this coin stand out. Both sides enjoy a totally original patina of original gold color with a blush of pinkish gold. There are NO spots of any size or the slightest hint of any discoloration. Miss Liberty and every detailare fully struck and do standout. The eye appeal is fabulous plus! PCGS 8, NGC 9, CAC 7. THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 463 $10 1914-D PCGS MS67 CAC CROW RIVER WOW, WOW, WOW! Did we mention WOW! This coin has off the charts color and quality-WOW! There is not even a microscopic negative to find anywhere on the surfaces. Everything is exceedingly smooth and clean. Use a powerful magnifying glass and you will not be disappointed. A remarkable luster really makes the coins colors “pop”. Both sides are as incredible as the finest Picasso masterpiece can be. Totally original shades of yellow gold mix with splashes of electric orange gold all over. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are razor sharp in strike. The eye appeal is jaw dropping and unforgettable! PCGS 4, NGC 7, CAC 4. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell in auction brought $86,252 in January 2012. We can easily see this monster of a coin blaze right past that. Seeing is believing-this coin really is not only one of the finest $10 Indians that exists-but one of the prettiest by far! This coin would randy in any SUPERB GEM Type or $10 Indian Set. Good luck! PCGS #8876 | EST: $80,000+238
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 464 239 $10 1914-S PCGS MS64+ CAC CROW RIVER Very high-end quality. This coin is more than worthy of being in the Crow River Collection!Superior surfaces for a 14-S are evident. Overall, they do appear clean and smooth. However using a strong glass, you can find some light frost breaks and tiny scuffs. Nothing is serious, but these items barely keep this coin from grading a full MS65. Youcan see a thin light but long die crack that runs from 6:00 to 9:00on the left obverse. A marvelous full booming luster beams from all over. Both sides are a totally original and lavish mix of gold/ pale orange gold colors. Miss Liberty and every detail are fully struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is super!PCGS 64, NGC 30, CAC 14. PCGS has graded only 4 in MS64+ and NO PCGS CAC MS64+ has ever been sold via auction. The only auction record of a regular MS64 PCGS CAC piece we could find was from January 2016 where the coin brought$16,450. It should be noted that even NON-CAC MS65’s sell for $30,000. We know MOST published price guides for this date and grade are wrong. Just try and find another-especially with some color and CAC’d. You won’t! PCGS #8877 | EST: $12,500+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 465 $10 1915 PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER Yet another mind boggling SUPERB GEM from the Crow River Collection. We agree this coin is a 66.9+! The outstanding surfaces are ultra clean and smooth. If you use a strong glass and search hard, you can find a microscopic tick-but no real frost breaks for change. A full booming glowing type luster beams boldly from all over. Both sides are a gorgeous mix of totally original even gold/pale orange gold colors. There are zero spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are lightly frosted and are fully struck. The eye appeal is tremendous! PCGS 11, NGC 23, CAC 10. PCGS has graded only 2 in MS66+. Of course, the lone coin higher-the MS67+- is in the Simpson Collection. The last regular PCGS CAC MS65 sold for $29,375 in August 2017. Neither MS66+ has ever been sold via auction. Do NOT be fooled by the pops, this is not a date or grade that is available with any frequency. Since this coin ranks the highest you can buy, we expect very strong bidding on it. Be prepared! But it is worth it! PCGS #8878 | EST: $30,000+240
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 466 241 $10 1915-S PCGS MS65 CAC CROW RIVER For a 1915-S, this coin is incredible! It is also the very first coin Legend Numismatics sold the Crow River collector in 2009 for $60,000. We have only seen one other TRUE GEM since. We unhesitatingly state this coin to be of SUPER HIGH-END quality too! If you had the grade covered up you’d call this coin a MS65+ like we do. However, PCGS was tough and saw a microscopic tick or two and held the grade down. Even if you use a strong glass, there are ZERO impairments to be found anywhere. A full booming luster makes the coin like it’s on fire! Both sides are a stunning and totally original orange gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and every detail are fully struck and do stand out. The eye appeal is phenomenal! PCGS 5, NGC 3, CAC 3. The last 1915-S to sell in auction was a non-CAC PCGS MS65 and that coin brought $55,813 in 2014. That should be strong evidence as to how rare these pieces are. You certainly will NOT see another like this with such pretty colors. Do note, there are 3 MS66’s, of which not one is CACapproved. So even if you are super picky, this coin will absolutely please you. Be ready for strong bidding here! PCGS #8879 | EST: $57,500+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 467 $10 1916-S PCGS MS66 CROW RIVER An exceptional GEM with lots of interesting color. Based on what we have seen, we agree this coin is an MS66. It is just a lower end one. Over the obverse surfaces are ultra clean and smooth. There some light frost breaks and ticks visible on the reverse, but there are NO major problems. The luster is full and does boom from all over. Both sides are a deeper even orange gold color. It is hard to say for sure the color is 100% original. There are NO spots, discolorations , or anything really unnatural that stand out. Miss Liberty and the details are frosty and are fully struck. The eye appeal is booming for sure! PCGS 7, NGC 0. PCGS has graded only 3 coins higher. The last PCGS MS66 (NO CAC) to sell in auction brought $41,125 in August 2013. Prior to that date, these brought up to $47,150 in auction. We think with a few years now gone by, this coin will surge and sell for a record price. Opportunity knocks loud here! PCGS #8880 | EST: $37,500+242
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 468 243 $10 1920-S PCGS MS63+ CAC CROW RIVER This is an outstanding example of the “key” date for the series. We do agree this coin is a full 63.9+! We could see some people actually think it could grade MS64 here-it is that nice. For a MS63, this coin has remarkably above average surfaces. We see the more common dates that are not this clean. Thereare just a few light frost breaks and scuffs you need to work hard to see. Nothing stands out save for one tick on the eagle on the reverse (it is NOT major). A full booming luster beams vividly from all over. Both sides are a wonderful and totally original orange gold color. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and really stand out.Considering this is only an MS63+, the eye appeal is remarkable!PCGS 5, NGC 6, CAC 4. PCGS has graded only 2 MS63+ pieces and neither has ever been sold at auction. In 2016, Legend sold the other MS63+ for $125,000 to a dealer. We also sold the lone CAC MS64 PCGS piece for over $200,000 in 2013 and it is locked away in major collection. If you seek a really special1920-S, we assure you, this coin is it. The quality and eye appealare all there and then some! We can easily see this coin setting a record price. PCGS #8881 | EST: $120,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 469 $10 1926 PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER WOW! This coin is flaming hot ultra-high-end firecracker GEM! If it were in an MS67 holder, we would not think less of it! Sensational surfaces reveal just a few widely scattered ticks and frost breaks. ALL are very light and blend in; keep in mind, these can come horribly whacked up. A full booming luster explodes from all over. Mother Nature really put on color show here: both sides are screaming with totally original electric yellow/orange gold colors. There are NO spots or discolorations anywhere. Of course, Miss Liberty and the details standout with full strikes. on a 1-10 scale, the eye appeal is an 11 (using 10 as the best)! We are blown away buy this coins looks! PCGS 18, NGC 50, CAC 6. It is a myth that this is a commoner date in the higher grades. NO PCGS MS66 CAC piece has ever been sold at auction. All we can say is, when this coin sells-looking this wild we fully expect it to bring a record price! Be prepared. PCGS #8882 | EST: $12,000+244
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 470 245 $10 1930-S PCGS MS65+ CAC CROW RIVER We have handled several MS65 pieces. There is NO question to us this piece blows them all away quality wise. It is from a majorcollection that had been off the market for many years. We rank it as a real MS65.9+!!! PCGS showed this coin no mercy. To start, the surfaces are pristine in every respect. They are also super satiny and are smooth. We looked hard and found not even a microscopic imperfection. A surprisingly strong luster beams from all over (these tend to be more dullish and satinyglowing in luster). Both sides are a totally fresh even yellow goldcolor. Of course, there are NO spots or discolorations anywhere. Miss Liberty and every detail are as fully struck as you will ever see for ANY $10 Indian. The eye appeal is jaw dropping and then some!PCGS 15, NGC 13, CAC 8. PCGS has graded 3 coins in MS65+. This coin sold for $102,813 in a June 2016 auction, where it first surfaced after being away for 50 years. We really do grade it ajust miss MS66. The Crow River collector never regraded it. If youare a super picky buyer and can’t stand even minor detractions, then this is your 30-S! This would even fit in an all MS66 set if there were such a thing! Good luck! THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 471 $10 1932 PCGS MS66+ CAC CROW RIVER Hands down, we declare this masterpiece one of the prettiest 1932 $1 Indians that exists. We would happily challenge its quality vs the lone NON-CAC PCGS MS67. Killer surfaces are exceedingly clean, satiny, and smooth. Using a strong glass, you will find only 2-3 tiny old ticks that are well hidden (vs how hacked up this date typically comes). A full booming luster makes the coin visible from across the room. Incredible and totally original flaming colors of yellow gold/ orange gold swirl wildly all over. Miss Liberty and the details are fully struck and stand out. The outrageous eye appeal is better then any other 1932 you will ever see! PCGS 111, NGC 153, CAC 31. PCGS has graded 16 in MS66+ and only one coin an MS67 (NO CAC). The last MS66+ that sold in a major auction brought $15,275 in February 2017. We expect this wonder GEM to realize much more then that! get ready, this is a really killer 1932 $10! PCGS #8884 | EST: $15,000+246
THE CROW RIVERCOLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 472 247 $10 1907 INDIAN NO MOTTO. PCGS MS66 CAC CROW RIVERWhat? This is a duplicate? This coin is the ultimate in GEM quality and GEM eye appeal! Out of this world surfaces are just tremendous. They are the ultimate in perfection-not just cleanliness! Even using a strong glass all you can find is a pin point tick. The texture is thick and satiny. There actually traces of light prooflike mirrors. The luster is as intense as a ray from the sun--WOW-you almost need Ray bans in which to view this coin (we are not kidding). A wild andtotally original color scheme would make Picasso roll over. Neon like shades of yellow/pinkish/orange gold all wildly mix together all over. There are NO spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are so fully struck and frosty they look like they were chiseled from a frosty block of gold. The eye appeal is heart pounding!PCGS 110, NGC 162, CAC 59. The last PCGS CAC piece to sell brought $16,450 back in January 2015. We know that coin had nowhere near the eye appeal this monster has! If you seek aperfect coin for a $10 Indian or major Type set, check this piece out! We doubt any image can do this piece justice. Hard to believe it was a duplicate replaced by something better. PCGS #8852 | EST: $12,000+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM
THE CROW RIVER COLLECTION OF $10 INDIANS LOT 473 $10 1913 PCGS MS65 CAC CROW RIVER Everything about this GEM is fabulous! We fully agree this coin is a solid MS65 every day. Only with a strong glass can you find a tick or two and frost break or two. Nothing stands out to the naked eye save for a small obverse planchet chip. A strong luster illuminates the pretty and original colors. Both sides are an even shade of yellow gold. There are no spots or discolorations. Miss Liberty and the details are of course sharply struck. The eye appeal is superb! PCGS 63, NGC 85, CAC 19. The last CAC coin to sell in auction was an NGC piece. It brought $9,400 in a November 2014 auction. This is yet another date that does NOT appear in any frequency. Keep in mind, this was the original coin in the Crow River Collection-not too shabby!
