LOT 109 53 3CS 1869 PCGS MS66Our sister company, Legend Numismatics is the world’s foremost dealer of three cent silvers. They have assembled both the #1and #2 Set in both Mint State and Proof. They have also handled every “finest known” example that exists (including the unique Proof 1851). When they first saw this killer piece our eye balls popped out and rolled on the ground! Only the MS68 (they placed) comes close to this coin’s killer everything! In fact, before the MS68 came along, the was the coin in the Simpson Collection. We grade this coin an MS66.8+! We have no idea why PCGS did not + it. There is no question this coin is a circulation strike. The surfaces are satiny smooth and have light prooflike mirrors. There is a surprisingly strong luster beaming from all over. Bothsides have a mind-boggling mix of totally original royal/aqua bluecolors. The peripheries have a light ring of violet/navy/green/goldcolors on the reverse. Every detail is sharply struck and has light frost. The eye appeal is crazy! Only 4,500 were minted. PCGS 5, NGC 9, CAC 3. NO PCGSCAC piece has ever been sold at auction. The lone MS67 traded privately for $25,000 in 2014. We can’t stress enough what a killer opportunity this coin is for a date that is considered a “stopper”. When building the #1 all-time set, an 1869 was the last coin needed. There is no accurate pricing on this date and grade because they infrequently trade. This coin is more than worthy of any great GEM Set! PCGS #3689 | EST: $17,500+ LEGENDAUCTIONS.COM

LOT 110 3CS 1872 PCGS MS67+ CAC Having built the all-time FINEST Mint State Set of Three Cent Silvers ever--the Law-Simpson Collection, our sister company Legend Numismatics has searched all over to find the VERY BEST pieces. They state this piece is tied for the finest. Only the Simpson coin is it’s equal. ANY 1872 in MS64 or higher grades is an exceptionally RARE coin. How this coin exists in this lofty state of preservation is miraculous! Using a strong glass, you can see some light die clashing which proves out it being an Mint State vs a Proof. There are mirrored surfaces on both sides-that is to be expected from the tiny mintage 1,000 pieces. A phenomenal coating of light gold covers the centers while the peripheries are framed by a gorgeous ring of blue/violet colors on the obverse. The reverse is an even pale green/light blue/gold combo. Of course, the colors are totally original. Every detail is pinpoint sharp in strike and has thick frost. The eye appeal is like the rarity-tremendous! PCGS 1, NGC 1, CAC 1. In MS67+ there are only 2 coins-this one and the Simpson coin (which will not be for sale in our lifetime). This coin last sold in auction for $54,050 in a February 2015 auction. At that time Legend was contemplating starting another Mint State set-for its principals. Obviously, they changed their minds. This coin deserves to be placed in a remarkable collection! Once this coin is placed, chances are you will never have a shot at anything even close. Yes, there can be huge price differences within a grade, and we offer estimates as a guide so collectors can have a better idea of value. One thing we will never do is offer low ball estimates in order to claim stronger sales. These published estimates represent what Legend Rare Coin Auctions determines to be an approximate high wholesale value for the coin. The numbers are based upon current market values, similar trades, auction prices, published prices, and a consideration of the coin’s quality. There is no guarantee that the estimated prices are minimums or are exactly what you can expect to get if you attempt to resell them wholesale. We always advise you to view the coins you are interested in and calculate what you’ll pay using as much information as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask us. LOT 172 83 10C 1831 PCGS PR66 CAM An exceptional quality and extremely RARE early proof--the finest example graded by PCGS. Deep, dark mirrors vividlybring to life the layer of rich aqua-royal blue and violet hues thatdrape the finely struck details. The icy smooth mirrored fields areespecially devoid of any contact marks or hairlines of any marks. Any proof struck before 1858 is very rare, and anything prior to 1840 exceptionally so. The original mintage of an estimated 20 examples was struck using two die pairs, JR-2 (as here) and JR-4. The JR-2 is considered Rarity-7 in Proof. In his encyclopedia on proof coins, Walter Breen enumerates 7examples, and states, “Known as a great rarity since the Levicksale of Oct. 1864” The Legendary Floyd Starr Collection (Stack’s October 1992) contained a GEM example, and it was noted there: fewer than 10 are believed to survive. Missing from the Bareford, Hawn, and Garrett Sales.” We also note that the Eliasberg collection did not have a Proof dime from this year. PCGS 1, NGC 1. (The same coin). This coin last sold in auction in August 2011 for $57,500 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $75,000. Based on its many exceptional characteristics--rarity, technical quality, high grade, and overall eye appeal--this coin should see fiece bidding competition when it crosses the block. LOT 173 10C 1837 NO STARS, LARGE DATE. PCGS MS66 CAC This is a totally original “old time” looking SUPERB GEM. We can’t stress how overlooked and hard to find this date is. Superior surfaces are the epitome of perfection. Even if using a strong glass clearly there is NOTHING to find. We do note there are two wicked cool die cracks (not clashing) at 4:00 and 7:00 at the bottom of the obverse by the skirt. A moderate luster enhances the thicker but totally original gold/pewter/deep champagne colors (in person the toning looks sweet). In fact, we believe if the toning were more lively this coin would easily grade MS67! The eye appeal presents well and is excellent! PCGS 6, NGC 6, CAC 2. LOT 203 25C 1831 SMALL LETTERS. PCGS MS66+ CAC B-2. A GORGEOUS SUPERB GEM and is finest certified by PCGS! You will fall in love with this coin at first glance; the toning is phenomenal. Lots of bluish-green-teal-aqua hues blend together over highly lustrous fields. The strike is not only bold, but it is FULL, each detail in Liberty’s hair and drapery, the stars, dentils, and eagle are very strong, and completely rendered. The fields are silky smooth and even under intense scrutiny with a strong glass we are unable to find anything of note. This is finer than both of the Pogue coins, and is bested only by the NGC MS67+ CAC Eric Newman coin. This coin is of ultra high end quality and superior eye appeal. PCGS 9, NGC 4, CAC 5. This is the sole PCGS MS66+ graded and none are finer. Pogue had two MS66s and one sold for $55,813 in May 2015. The Newman NGC MS67+ CAC sold for $117,500 in November 2013. The current PCGS value is listed at $70,000. A perfect coin for a superb type set, or for the ambitious, for a GEM set of Bust quarters. A spectacular coin like this should see very strong bidding when it crosses the block. PCGS #5348 | EST: $45,000+98
