Marching Music's Major League™ In January, 2008, Drum Corps International voted to instate a new governance structure designed to streamline decision-making and facilitate more efficient business operations. The DCI Board of Directors is now made up of nine individuals, including six elected representatives from the World Class member corps and three unaffiliated (at-large) members. The group of Drum Corps International member corps- defined as a corps which participates in the DCI World Championship Quarterfinals the previous season -votes to elect board members to staggered three-year terms. The member corps also vote on changes to the by- laws, rules and competitive issues, regardless of whether or not their corps is represented on the Board of Directors. Playing by the Rules Each year at Drum Corps International's annual winter meeting, new rules are presented, discussed and voted on by instructors and directors.
