Railway station has been awarded with “PLATINUM” rating by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) under the aegis of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). 112 12) Expenditure Control Measures – Achieved up to 30.09.2021 • Energy savings of 13.76 % has been achieved up to September 2021 as compared to the year 2019-20. • Savings in Energy Expenditure is Rs. 88.76 Lakhs as compared to 2019-20 • Solar plants 700 kW installed in Salem Division. Due to this savings achieved during Apr to Sep is Rs. 21.56 Lakhs. • Pump Automation done for 100 HP VT, 2 Nos in Cauvery Pump house and Savings of man power of 2 staff. The savings in expenditure is Rs. 17.16 Lakhs per year. • Pump Automation has been done in KRR, TPT, BQI Stations • CBE coaching depot HT service converted in to LT service. Due to this savings in expenditure is Rs. 6 Lakhs per year. • PTJ Station, CMD reduced from 205 kVA to 150 kVA. Due to this reduction the savings in Expenditure is Rs. 2.31 Lakhs per year. • BLDC fans, 100 Nos have been provided in S&T/WS/PTJ and resulting savings in Energy charges is Rs.60 Thousand per year. • Two numbers of IGBT welding plants have been arranged from GOC shops to S&T/WS/PTJ replacing old energy consuming rail weld plants. The savings in Energy charges is Rs. 1.20 Lakhs per year. • Scrap Disposal during the year Ferrous – 16.57 M.T & Non- Ferrous – 22.24 M.T • The outstanding Energy Charges from private agency for Rs. 11.87 Lakhs has been realized and adjusted in SD.

( Division – 140 kW & S&T/WS/PTJ – 60 kW) • Solar Tubular lighting system- 10 Nos, LOA issued on 07.10.21 S&T/WS/PTJ. Savings in Energy charges will be Rs. 38 Thousand per year. • Energy efficient Air Circulator fans, 30 Nos are under procurement in S&T/WS/PTJ. Savings in Energy charges will be Rs. 2.1 Lakhs per year • Additional power block charges worked out to Rs. 77.76 Lakhs and the same has been advised to Power Grid / TANGEDCO for remittance. • We are planning to make “Zero Scrap” Electrical Power / TL&AC depots in Salem Division. 14) Special Works done in Coaching Side June 2021 Provision of Separate switch – 2 Nos in guard cabin to control the luggage room Lights have been lights provided in 17 Nos Power cars departmentally during June 2021. 114 Multi-function meters, working on 230 V Aux. Supply (failure prone) in power cars were replaced by 24 V DC meters in all the 17 Power cars during June 2021. ( 100% Completed) B Check Schedules have been completed in all the Power cars in June 2021. ( 100% Completed) Radiator failures, 5 Nos have been attended departmentally and resulting savings of Rs. 1.25 Lakhs during June 2021. July 2021 Provision of 750 V supply system at Sick line using the 50 kVA Transformer has been made to check the LHB coaches without using the Power cars and resulting savings of HSD oil. Further additional shunting operations are also avoided. 110 V, DC Signal point machine motor is modified with suitable clamping arrangements to check the generation of 4.5 kW Alternator in pit line. It can be clamped over the Alternator and the 110 V supply for the battery charging purpose is utilized for this purpose.
115 One Fixture has been designed and manufactured in house by using the railway materials to fix the heavy weight Transformers in LHB coaches. By using this fixture lowering, Rising & fixing the Transformers is made easier. Reduction in down time of coaches and saves man power by 50%. MMR Testing kit has been developed by utilizing the Railway materials for the testing of MMR. HOG testing kit has been designed and manufactured in house for the checking of communication cables from the Power cars to Loco. August 2021 Electronic lab has been set up for the testing of Electronic circuits used in LHB coaches. Further the same has also been
116 utilized to conduct classes among the staff to improve the working knowledge. Competency Certificate for AC Coach Escorting Staff has been designed and printed and the same will be issued to AC staff after conducting competency test. September 2021 RBC Repair – One number of RBC 6.5 kW capacity of AAL make got repaired through local firm. Thyristor module, IC, MOSFET, PTs etc. were replaced and the total cost of repair through imprest is Rs. 4284/- Mobile charging points, 18 Nos each were provided in the following coaches to avoid passenger complaints. GS 09446, GS 11445 ( CBE) GS 11445, CN 016239 (ED). Further the working of mobile charging points 100% have been ensured during the primary maintenance. Officers of SA Division conducted an online safety Seminar through GOOGLEMEET on 20.08.2021,regarding Prevention of SPAD,Case studies of SPAD,Alertness on duty,Rear banker operation and driving techniques in APM fitted BOXNHL, BTFLN, BCBFG (ADANI)&BLCA/BLCB loaded trains with the active participation of 147 running staff II. Safety seminars are being regularly conducted by CLI sinall depots of SADivision on various subjects like ❖prevention of SPAD ❖Shunting precautions ❖GRS corrections ❖Safe train working practice during banker operation and single line working on doubleline. ❖Various authorities issued during train operations ❖Driving techniquesto be adopted in various gradient sections and type of wagons
121 III.CLIs are updating the SOBs/time to time instructions and technical instructions to their nominated running staff through digital media platforms like WhatsApp and Telegram. IV.Total 853 Running staff/CLI/CRC/PRC/TLC were vaccinated out of 862 . Balance 7 Covid affected and two pregnant will be vaccinated soon as they become eligible for vaccination. V. CLIs conducted various hands on training such as attending LHB coach failures, proper locking of E/H type couplings etc… VI.To improve the troubleshooting knowledge of running staff practical classes are being conducted at ED loco console, three phase orientation classes are arranged on regular basis with practical demonstration at EDLS. VII.The average speed off reight trains in the FY-2021-22 is improved by 10.32%compared to last FY2020-21 for the same period. VIII.Based on the CLIs ALP performance review report, weak ALPs are being identified and given two days orientation course to improve the deficiencies such as calling out of signals with hand gestures, G&SR and technical knowledge. IX.For monitoring the alertness of crew in the cab, video and voice recording system is provided in loco cabs and the same are being regularly analyzed by CLIs along with SPM charts.
