314 ACHIEVEMENTS: 1. Integrated Security System at Coimbatore Railway Station: In Salem Division, Coimbatore Railway station has been identified and provided with ISS. This station is provided with 80 (PTZ-13 & Fixed -67) cameras at important locations covering entire CBE Rly station and its premises. CCTV Control room is functioning round the clock at the main entrance of CBE Rly station. Besides this the station is provided with two luggage scanners and two under vehicle scanners at both entry points of CBE Rly station. This station is also equipped with major BDDS equipments under ISS. This unit was manned by trained RPF staff round the clock and close surveillance is being kept over the activities of anti- social/anti-national/undesirable elements. 2. Zonal RPF Training Center for Dogs at Podanur The Zonal RPF Dog Training Centre located 20th block Railway Colony area at Podanur was commenced on 10.11.2005 with the capacity of 10 Cells. The RPF Dogs from various Zonal Railways are being trained under different trades like Explosives and Tracker. During the year 2020 – 12 Dogs with handlers have completed their training successfully. So far 267 Dogs had undergone the training at the ZTDC/PTJ. A long pending proposal for upgrading the Dog training Centre at Podanur is recently materialized and the contract has been awarded for the construction of RPF Dog Training Center with the capacity of 60 Cells and 80 bedded barracks for the RPF Dog handlers. Fund allotment is required during 2021-2022. 3. Safety and Security to the Rail Passengers. In order to ensure hassle free journey to the passenger, RPF escorts are provided in all important Mail/Express trains running over SA division during Evening/night hours. At present 34 trains are provided with RPF Armed escorts.

RPF HELP LINE /RAIL MADAD During the period from JAN-2021 to APR-2021 the RPF Security Help lineNo.182 is functioning at Divl, security Control room Salem round the clock which is manned by trained RPF staff to respond the calls received through the Security Help line and necessary assistance are being rendered to the needy passengers in time. 43 Helpline calls were received and promptly attended. Further the 182 Helpline Number merged into Rail madad Helpline No.139. Apart from this various complaints related to security received through Twitter, CPGRAMS are also being attended without any loss of time. 5. MERI SAHELI SCHEME: In Salem Division “Meri Saheli” teams of Women Sub- Ordinate officers and Constables have been formed in the Major stations at CBE, ED, KRR and SA. They will facilitate and interact with the women passengers travelling alone and ensure their safe journey. 6. Closed Circuit Television(CCTV) under Nirbhaya Fund: In Salem Division CCTV Cameras installed at all Major Railway stations of Salem - 40 Cameras, Erode -32 Cameras, Tiruppur - 27 Cameras, Karur -22 Cameras. The same are monitored by RPF round the clock.

318 Rajbhasha 1. Introduction -Hindi Section was constituted on1.11.2007 द It started functioning with one Hindi Officer and one Senior Translator. At present there are 1 Senior Translator, 2 Junior Translators, 1 Supdt Typing, 1 Technician and 1 Track Maintainer.The implementation of the Official Language Policy is being done successfully under the guidance of Additional Divisional Railway Manager and Apar Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari, Salem Division. 2. Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC) and Hindi Teaching Scheme (HTS): Divisional Railway Manager, Salem (DRM/SA) was made the Chairman for the TOLIC as well as the Overall-in-charge for the HTS/Salem by the Department of Official Language. The responsibility of implementing Official Language Policy and review of the Official Language in all the 43 offices (consisting of Central Government Offices, PSUs and Nationalized Banks totaling 43) was entrusted to DRM/SA. On 31.08.2021, 50th TOLIC Meeting was held online through Google Meet under the Chairmanship of DRM. As mentioned earlier there are 43 Central Government Offices like Government offices, PSU and Nationalized Banks. The responsibility of imparting Hindi Training to the staff working in these offices as also been entrusted to the DRM/SA. All the above works are being carried out successfully by the Hindi Section. 3. Training: Under Hindi Training Scheme contact programmes are conducted from time to time for the staff nominated for Prabodh, Praveen, Pragya and Parangath working in Divisional Office and all the stations. a) For January – May 2021 session and July-November 2021, 226 nominations were received for Prabodh, Praveen, Pragya, Parangat courses. The examinations for all these courses will be held in November 2021. The details are given below :

Translation work: In Salem Division, the translation work of all 81 Station Working Rules (SWR) and 248 Gate Working Rules (GWR) has already been completed. Hindi Text of the SWRs and GWRs, updated from time to time is being made available. Booklet containing Hindi words being used in station, help literature is being distributed. Apart from these, Hindi Translation for daily works like General Order, RTI, entries in Service Registers, Standing Order Book and rubber seal is being given. 5. Official Language Implementation Committee (OLIC) :For reviewing the progress made in Official Language, eight committees are functioning at Salem Division viz., Salem Junction, Erode Junction, Diesel Shed, Erode, Coimbatore, Podanur Junction, Mettupalayam, Udagamandalam and Divisional Office. The OLICs meet regularly once in 3 months. During the Covid 19 Pandamic all the OLIC meetings were held online. 6. Hindi Workshop :In order to increase the use of Hindi in day to day official work, Hindi workshops are being organized for various stations and Divisional Office staff.

Rajbasha Utsav : Hindi competitions were organized online in connection with the Rajbasha Utsav2020 in which a total number of 230 staff took part.On 13.09.2021 Prizes were distributed to the winners of competitions by Divisional Railway Manager. Different stations of Salem division were inspected by the Rajbhasha Anubhag for correcting the Hindi spelling of station names and Public Information Boards. 10. Rajaji Hindi Bhavan :The premises inaugurated by General Manager on 28.01.2020 is being used for Hindi activities like competitions, workshops, personal contact programmes, Hindi key board training and library.
