DEPARTMENT OF PEDAGOGYUNPHU have a wide experience in the education of human resources for the teaching at all levels, Initial,Basic, Middle, and Grade, through their 45 years of existence; and in the last twelve years at as PostGraduate level.The Faculty of Humanities and Education is the academic unit responsible for coordinating the programsin the areas of Education, Psychology and Orientation, as well as manage and serve the different schools,subject to the area. Contributes to maintaining the efficiency of educational services of departments inthe deanery, developing research projects in the humanistic area, linked to developments in teaching andcurrent issues of national interest and the university; Encourages the development of cultural outreachthrough the various academic units that integrates the faculty and imparts the ideas and work of PedroHenríquez Ureña, among the students of the university and in other national contexts.The School operates from the time that Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña began its teachingin 1966, when it was founded, opening up their courses with students who began their studies at otheruniversities. As a counting of training programs for teachers that participate at UNPHU are the following:The Ministry of Superior Education, Science and technology developed from 1992 2 training programs forteacher on service, in coordination with the main universities of the country, one with the sponsorship of BIDdenominated “Program of Professionalization of High school Teachers” (PPMB). Another with sponsorshipof the World Bank, “Project of Development of the Initial Education”(PRODEP), targeted to the trainingof Regular Teachers. Both programs where directed within the guidelines of the Decennial Plan, for thetraining at university level of teachers of basic education. In these programs most of the universities withprojects of teaching programs are involved, designed with a common framework at the requirement of theMESCyT.Today a lot of the graduates of the referred programs required to obtain a BS level, in different mentions asis contemplated in the Decennial Plan.As evidence of our experiences in education training we offer the summary of programs developed, in forceat the moment at Pre Grade, grade and Post Grade levels, programming at the moment the initiation ofthe doctorate level.
