Page | 178 Appendix Minimum physical and medical standards required for appointment of Security PersonnelTo be deemed medically fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease/ syndrome/ disability likely to interfere with the efficient performance of security related activities in any environment, climate, remote areas and austere conditions with no frequent medical aid. In general, the following minimum standards are required for appointment of Security personnel: a. Should not have any musculoskeletal deformities (congenital or acquired) of spine, chest, pelvis and limbs, or anywhere in the body. b. Weight should be proportionate to height i.e., should not be grossly over-weight or under-weight (BMI should be in between 19-27.5). c.
