HARDIK SHAH STUDIO LAGOM FOAID 2020

Project Name The brief from the client, revolved around being connected to nature, having plenty of sunlight, a clean look rendered using minimal materials, a sense of space and plenty of storage. While House of Hidden Doors the space in question was actually a duplex, the owners indicated a preference for all the primary areas being located in the first level, with the second level being devoted to the Location entertainment zone/guest space. Simply put, the home is actually two apartments— tied by a vertical connection. Mumbai The requirements of greenery and green views have been satisfied with the help of layering windows with planters, and internally, the landscaped water court with its beautiful reflections and the subdued, gentle murmur of water. The material palette features concrete (ceiling of the living-dining-kitchen area), granite (flooring throughout the house) and wood (mainly the passage). The long 36-foot passage is a result of L-shaped teakwood-batten wrap that camouflages extensive storage and access points, and has, in all, some 18 doors concealed in its facade — doors to the powder room, main entry and bedrooms and shutters to units that store everything from newspapers to luggage. Configuring this element was a study of storage needs, from both, outside (the public zone) and inside (bedrooms/private zone), with a jigsaw-like strategy applied to accommodate the requirements in a streamlined fashion. This penthouse succeeds in giving the clients what they sought — a serene, almost resort-like habitat in the congested urbanity of Mumbai… 577

HOORI MEGHANI & AKHIL GUJRATI MIRARI DESIGN VISUALS FOAID 2020

Project Name The Design intent : Clean design with solid colour’s , spacious flexibility and warmth of a HOME. House of Tints & Shades The spatial configuration : Location Beginning with the PLANNING part, we broke all wall barriers and created a house with MAXIMUMCIRCULATION SPACE!Our plan speaks when it comes to civil comparison of Living- Pune Terrace-Dining-Kitchen area which is opened & spaced out well, considering maximum UTILITY of space as well while freezing on the furniture layouts! BAR THE BROWNS ! The first statement of the client and we were clear to avoid veneer/wood finish laminates or any brown colour as much as we could. Hence the name \"HOUSE OF TINTS AND SHADES\"seemed apt for this 2800 sq.ftResidential Apt. Pastel’s and contrast’s and the Blue was ruling over all which remained constant with The challenges : Initially it was challenging to pick the right shade of blue since it was the main colour of the walls to be used majorly. But with carefulplanning, it all came together as the perfect blend of other furniture, upholstery, furnishings. The lessons learnt : Designs can be dealt without veneer and trying colours out of thousands of shades was a wonderful experience other than the normal browns. 583
